  1. It is cute
  2. Found some really lite gloves that feel like underarmour at Academy last winter. I also keep hand warmers in each front pocket of sweatshirt or jacket. This combination has kept hands on this ol man warm all winter in ice and snow.
  3. Thank the good Lord for fishing and family. Helps to take the mind off these things temporarily. Have had acute pancreatitis that was pretty serious and went to fish the Heartland final. Ended up in ER....they wanted to keep me overnight but told them I had a big tourney this weekend and that I didn't feel any more pain in the guts. Pancreas got upset over a meal...real upset. (couldn't prefish one day) Doc made me promise to contact my doc and I did. Thing is ...(for me) it's in Gods hands as the pancreas really doesn't heal and the doc says mine looks like hamburger. Sooooo I just go day to day and try to not tick it off by eating something bad. Also try to stay busy so I don't think to much!! Good luck to ya
  4. Love just getting on the water. Have had good days early and good days late. Normally take my time getting there and make it relaxing.
  5. Lifted
  6. When I was younger my grandfather owned a marina in Warrenton which is very close to the bar. I remember hooking a silver once on a charter trip with family and I was actually fighting the fish above eye level while we were in a trough. It was like watching TV as the fish swam through the wave with about three or four others with it. The captain said to me...son ... you get that fish in and we're going in!! The ocean deserves respect.
  7. Maybe the NE could share some with the West!?
  8. Right now I'm using PP braid with leaders on everything. 30 an 40 for flippin....20 for footballs ... 15 for cranking and spinning. Love it...not having the digging problems, but then my drags aren't so tight that I can't pull some line out.
  9. This is great
  10. I remember 50 plus years ago when "wheat" was referred to amber waves of grain. The wind and rain would knock it down and the farmers in the valley were bummed to say the least. Not to mention disease. Now it's 18 inches high and nothing will kill it.....Genetically modified isn't good.
  11. I bet.....give the Wheat thing a try....it's painless and it does have its challenges....but it works. The big thing for me was the dementia and altimers thing. Supposed to help this from happening....so that was a seller for me.......good luck
  12. Look up Wheat Belly...or the Wheat Belly cookbook. You drop the pounds and are mentally clearer. Have been doing it for almost three months now and have tons of energy and have lost the pounds. I don't go completely with the books but have eliminated wheat and oats and most processed sugar. It's a challenge to cut wheat out of your diet but like the book says ....gluten which is from wheat acts like a glue and is soooo genetically modified it just isn't good for you or anyone. I had to do something as I just found out I'm a type 2 diabetic. Doc said she would give me three months to get the numbers down. Actually looking forward to going to doc and showing her I don't want any needles or pills. Wife is also eliminating wheat and has found the arthritis in her hands is much less painful and getting even better....it' worth it. Good Luck with what you choose and just my two cents.
  13. Dang mosquito's around here are coming on STRONG...sheeesh. But...do love the fall....my favorite. Do not want to think about Christmas yet though....nope. One day at a time and enjoy this one
  14. Another keeper....congrats
  15. Oh my.....that's a serious workout. You could use sturgeon rods for flippin!!! Since my life's battle a couple years ago with acute pancreatitis and all it's side benefits (not) I've been working out this last year and even though it's not to your level it has made a huge difference to my body. I'm 65 and try and walk around four times a week and do some stretch exercises for back and shoulders and with my diet now of very little or no wheat and processed sugar I'm feeling pretty good. Firm believer if you don't use it you loose it....especially when you get older. Keep up the good work.
  16. Sorry for the misspelling.....when I was a fishing manager back in Portland, Oregon was when they came out with the Korkers in a package deal with several soles and they were huge with the steelhead and salmon fishing crowd. Believe this was the time when they had made there move to north Portland. I had one of the original pair and flat wore them out. I made many special trips to the manufacturer to pick up orders...we sold tons of these boots. Been awhile ago but they used to come in a box with two or three different soles in them. Timing could be off on this but its close. Tight Lines
  17. Not a big one for going under houses or even in the woods during warm months. Guess that's why I like fishing. Try to keep outside of house sprayed for little visitors. When we first moved to Tennessee had tons of spiders around house...now....not so much. I know they do good....but not in my house.
  18. Out west we used what they call corks or corkers. They came in many styles but mostly were felt bottoms with aluminum studs through the bottoms. Amazing in fast slimy rivers.
  19. Family lifted
  20. Very nice....nice to read good stories. Good luck to you
  21. Very nice
  22. Hope you get better soon. Your right about getting out of the house....love all kinds of catching personally.
  23. Lots of wisdom spoken above.....everyday is a gift....use them wisely if you can
  24. Congrats on marriage and mount
