  1. Sorry for your loss (lifting). (And for the other losses above) A very young man down the street lost his parents also on a road trip. He was fortunate enough to have grand parents. All the best to you. We too are healing from loosing our daughter...but ....oh....not going to say anymore. May you find comfort.
  2. The bear is great....watched "Alone" last night and it reminded me of the guy who also did carving. Too bad ya can't fish. Next think you know you'll be carving the next "Super Spook". Tight Lines
  3. Dang...that's ugly. 17 here this morning but supposed to warm up a bit. Going to head out once the sun comes out and warms things up a few degrees. Went to Walmart yesterday and got my favorite handwarmers for $5 for a ten pack. One for each pocket. Keeps the pain away in these ol hands somewhat. They seem to put them on sale after the first of the year every year I've been here....so timing is good. Good luck on your trip.
  4. Welcome to paradise. Tons of places to fish from the bank. Easy to say for me as I'm a boater but have done the bank thing and all I do is take a drive (get a map) and look for boat ramps and parks. They may get hit a bit harder but not this time of year and if you move around you'll find fish. Very dependent on where the bait fish are cruising. One day hero..one day could be a lot tougher. Small jerks, small ponyheads should get you some action. Good luck.
  5. Last day we went to the restaurant T-REX in Disney springs. Really good and our waitress was excellent. Glad we got there early....within an hour it was an hour wait!! AND....I was tired of waiting and waiting and waiting. Great time though. Can't remember...sorry...where it was but we went to this place with these huge really big cinnamon rolls the first day....amazing...melted in your mouth and I even had to take an insulin shot with these bad boys!!
  6. Cool...felt pretty fortunate. Was able to carry grandson for over a mile one night....wore him out!!! Was a great bonding experience....now i need to bond myself back.
  7. My wife and I and our family plus daughter in laws mom went to Disney World this last few days and just got home yesterday. Really were blessed from above about the weather and just the trip in general. Everything went so very smooth. Just missed the ugly stuff (rain and wind) going down. Did have some around Atlanta and it took almost three hours to get through this area but were worried about snow coming home and it was clear sailing and knocked three hours off coming home. Did see many unfortunate ones in the ditch. Anyway....first I would like to apologize on not being able to find the name of the lake by Disney world a previous fisherman had talked about with the free john boats to use at this park. This park is awesome and so were the people running it. We went down to the dock and the lady said at the gate there's a LOT of fish in there and she wasn't wrong. Also told us that bread was good for the big gills and such. First we tried catching bass with the kids....the trip was all about them anyway....Well not a sniff from the bass but there were panfish everywhere....everywhere. Tried some stuff on the gills and no luck at all...so put a piece of cheeto on a hook and bingo....grandson had a fish. Caught a couple more but cheeto's were tuff to use on those panfish. Daughter in law brought banana bread....WOW. Stuff stayed on the hook for #@!$ but with a little spit it would last a couple seconds longer. Everyone got fish...even the daughter in laws mom caught her first fish ever...was cool. The really exciting part was when some "moby" bass tried to steal the gills off the hooks. This happened several times. Was awesome....thank you for info previous writer. P.S. Walt Disney world was tuff on this ol man.....legs and feet are tired.
  8. Praise the Lord.....I've lived in Oregon and now Tennessee. Two completly different worlds but have been able to catch fish every month in both states....especially now. Although once I was laid up for about six months and couldn't fish...rods and reels got moldy....boat compartments were moldy too. Couldn't get up to do anything. I somewhat know what your going through. You need a long weekend south maybe.
  9. Good memories as we get older are "Nice"
  10. I like the quieter waters.....not ready yet.
  11. May all your family and friends find Christmas Day and the New Years a blessing with answered prayers and the strength and peace to handle what life brings.
  12. You did good....Heading to the Hill today but Norris I think next week. Doing the saturday tourneys on the Hill right now so have to practice a bit. Love Norris and the Powell is on the ol bucket list to learn a bit. Always seem to launch at Pt 19 Tight Lines
  13. Two years ago there about's I had a day with my son on Norris with 20 smallies over 18 inchs....Weather was cold cold cold and foggy. Had several other days that year that were almost as good but now I find myself fishing a bit closer to home. Trying to get better on the Hill. Tight Lines
  14. This time of year I tend to not try and kill myself getting to the lake early even though I have at times for small tourneys. I fish all winter and catch fish at all times of the day. It's like almost any other time and that is finding them and what they want. This time of year I just usually not there at "0 dawn thirty" due to the fact there's not many people at the ramps and so I just take it easy and enjoy the peace. Tight Lines
  15. Little girls are AWESOME....A gift from above.
  16. Ahhhhhhhh.......your thinking back to the ol days. I never had a job that tough or demanding on the West coast. But I too find as I have reached the older years I do a lot of thinking. Especially during the Holidays. Our big thoughts now are of our daughter who left us to go with the Lord and hoping to stay out of the doctors office so much this year. Another big thought is I haven't been to an ER in a year now this month.....whoooohoooo. Used to have to go every three weeks or so. Yup.......memories....we've got em so there's a chance we will get to be blessed by another day and it's hopes. Merry Christmas
  17. Lifting
  18. Like the double uni.
  19. Glad your feeling better
  20. Throw a lot of three inch swim baits and I usually just pour my own heads. Normally just use a light wire hook in a 3/0 size. A mustad 32746 BLN works well. Like fishing either 8 or 10 pound Power Pro with a fluro leader. Tight Lines
  21. Looks good....my first thought when you showed that I was picturing a front porch with a rocking chair and a glass of ice tea. Enjoy.
  22. Protein!!! Have a safe trip/
  23. Lifting
  24. Creating is SOOOOOO much fun....good job
  25. Kind of like listening to a radio in a boat....i do like music but natures noises are much better and sometimes its hard to concentrate with all that's going on with "Mother Nature". Guess I'm getting old.......er.
