  1. Yes...hard water is ice
  2. Lots of good info above...but my question would be doesn't the area you talk about living have "lots" of hard water during the season so your remark about lots of fishing brings a smile.
  3. Guess I'm old fashioned and don't need the publicity....I can go fishing and share (word of mouth) with friends. Yes ... will do some on here with techniques but!!!! Can't see why I would want so many friends (!!!!) on the water I fish doing exactly what I'n doing and advertising it on a public forum....seriously!
  4. The best ever....... Wow is all I have to say. We don't (or shouldn't) be with people that we think we can change to our ways. There is so much to it. A lot of good info above and there would be sadness I'm sure in parting ways but if you like pressure and having to always think on what you can't or can do she's the one for you.
  5. OH MY!!
  6. Soooo much fishing...so many memories. Not sure wether to put tourney memories, steelhead/salmon memories. (grew up in Oregon) As I get older I think back quite a bit. I still remember winning my first tourney .... it was a Western Divisional for BASS where all the western states met on the California Delta in Stockton. Rough place. We were told not to walk around after dark due to the shadyness of the area. Someone I believe was even shot at the boat ramp the night before!!! Was an amazing fishery...I won the tourney and got big bass....I had the second slowest boat in the tourney and never went far as I didn't have GPS and was afraid of getting lost. I caught so many big fish and met some amazing people. Now I'm creating memories in Tennessee with my son and grandsons.....I am blessed. I have photo albums that have only hunting and fishing pictures of family and friends......awesome Thank you for the thinking back
  7. They still be biting...I like fishing closer to banks and slow down. Buzzbaits, spinnerbaits and plastics in darker colors. It's warm muddy water...not cold so thats good..
  8. I too have always enjoyed the competition and the friendships that go along with the sport. The high's and the lows and the learning and the trying to figure out the "enemy" that swims beneath the waters. The personal satisfaction that comes with putting a limit together. The visiting of new waters....I have fished almost half of the United States in different states due to BASS and FLW and met many great people. Even as the body gets older and different pains develope I still have the desire to compete and "BS" with fellow anglers and also to share knowledge and tackle. Now I fish much smaller tourneys and miss the big stuff but life and the wallet depict what I do. Tight Lines.....Enjoy
  9. Tons of places to fish around here. Watts bar around Kingston...tons of bank room and fish. Melton Hill is a little tougher but the hiking trail by the rowing area in Oakridge can be good or Carl Cowen Park. Quite a few parks on Louden and they have decent access. Check out areas with bridges...usually quite productive. Good Luck
  10. Been a long time since I've fished that lake....no plans for the future either. But a great place. Old Ugly Dry Creek tube used to be my favorite bait. Thanks for sharing.
  11. White Berkley nugget or a Berkley Maggot......on a small hook under a small bobber. No weight.... Amazing
  12. !!...Ask permission and take your Dad.
  13. Love tubes "ANY" time of year...well....maybe not so much in winter.
  14. As the saying goes "your not marrying someone to change them to your way's" Wife and I have over 40 years....this year will be 44 and I'm still no expert. But I do know giving 100% to the one I love makes life good. She has maybe fished a half a dozen times with me over the years. Her passion is golf and now that life has changed a bit we try and golf at least one day a week with each other. Some times more. And I fish quite a bit too... Listening and sharing is caring. Everyone is different...good luck.
  15. This is a good choice
  16. Right there with ya...especially since they have made the season soooooooo long. I for one do not like to sit in front of a TV for that long.
  17. It's nice to compliment each other....looks good
  18. All above is great info....I have had instances where the bass know I'm there....either from vibrations from walking with heavy feet or just seeing me or my shadow. After all you are try to fish in their "house" as they say and some of them ain't stupid. Stealth and a floating rapala quivered on the surface has worked well for me in these situations. Good luck
  19. I have cut down the leader too but do use the double uni....don't want to give up the braid but was gifted an awesome rod by Cashion so will see what happens.
  20. So far I'm loving the four inch Keitech. But upon arriving home I have a bottle of "mend-it" that gets opened and used. The bigger the pile of wounded baits the funner the trip was!!!
  21. Having moved to Tennessee from Oregon I am personally really satisfied. So much so close. The Columbia was my favorite back in Oregon. So big...so many fish...and so so not many people. Amazing fishery if you don't mind wind. Now in Knoxville,Tn its two hours or less to some amazing fisheries ... many of which I have hardly touched. My bucket list is short. Good luck with your choices....have fun.
  22. We had just short of ten pounds...not bad for this lake
  23. My son said he could fish the Tuesday nighter's with me this year and I thought this was so awesome as his life is very busy. We usually only get to fish a couple times a year. There were 25 boats which was pretty big for this local lake and to make a long story short we WON. Almost had big fish too. Went into it feeling a tube and a brush hog may do it and it did. Nice way to start the year.
  24. Dry Creek tube...green pumkin Dry Creek tube...candy Keitech 3&4inch...(sorry) 4 inch black worm watermelon candy bbh Easy...peezy
  25. I know this has been visited many many times but I just have to get it off my chest...have to. I like to golf with my wife but my passion is fishing. And while out there doing either one I generally pick up after (for lack of better terms) others. It just amazes me that people who like to spend time in the out doors would respect it for its natural beauty...not the garbage they add to it. For instance...about a month ago I asked the local golf club if they would loan me a cart and I would pick up garbage and collect golf balls (love this part) Anyway...on one hole ...about 20 feet from a garbage can just off the trail I picked up over 50 beer cans and bottles in one small area....seriously!!! Needless to say I found quite a bit that time out. Same goes for our waterways and I won't go into that one. Sorry....sheeesh....thanks for listening....I kinda feel better. Simple thing is most people on this site respect our great outdoors and what God has blessed us with to enjoy. Not the individuals who are me...me...me.
