  1. Well....still fishing the Tues/Thursday 5-9ers.......very warm....sweat just pours off ya. Even golf twice a week. Can hardly wear sunglasses even. Do I still enjoy.....yes....catching some fish....yes. Do I pour in the fluids....you bet. Not a good sit at the TV kinda of person. Like moving around....down the road I know I'll have to...not anxious to get there.
  2. Very cool....well done. I probably would have ended up bleeding too!!
  3. Like your attitude...too many hurt feelings now days. Sooo politically correct and so forth. Maybe that's why Elites went the way they did. Anyway..team stuff is good...fishing with one's self is good too. But then it's probably hard to grow the sport without the draw format.
  4. Have been a Silver Thread user for years....no complaints. Hope the Vanish works...please don't hold your breath.
  5. Hoping for a speedy recovery. Have done the couch thing......NOT FUN
  6. Hmmmm...talked to him at a show out here in Knoxville. Believe he now lives down on Watts bar with his family. Don't believe he has been here that long. Couple years or so. Tight Lines
  7. Best of luck with the Chemo
  8. Interesting....guess I'm lucky...I use the inexpensive bag of Bic's or Gillette's....what ever is best price and after the shower put a little water on face and shave off hair. Have never had a rash or anything....Blades seem to last and last.
  9. Hey Tom...just curious...is this the same John who fish's the Elite's and has moved to Tennessee? Or am I thinking someone else...tks
  10. Love those birds....great personality. No expertise here but have had them want to do the same in my garage so I keep it closed too. Should be able to Google all about them.
  11. Snuck up on me a few weeks back.....had been fishing for four days in a tourney situation. Last day at ramp...started feeling a heartburn feeling////stomach weirdness. (note: I have a partially gone pancreas) Anyway...one hour later I'm at emergency care...blood pressure below 50 and a needle in my arm with fluids. They did a great job and got everything up and going. Pancreas was not happy...almost read a 1000. Funny thing was drinking what I thought was quite a bit...as was doing the peeing thing quite a lot. Well.....lesson learned I hope!! Good info above....be careful.....looking at your shoes and getting cold in 90 plus heat is not good.
  12. My grandson loves to grab trash while the boat is moving slow down the lake. As we go from spot to spot we'll see the floaters and do a fly by. Thank you to those that care.
  13. Oh my...soooo sorry. Sorry so late but just saw......
  14. Too many...and many mentioned above. New grand baby girl smiling up at grandpa Grand kids giving loves and doing things with grandpa Smiles from my wife Walking in the woods looking for golfballs On the water most any time...but blast offs can be stressful Oh....and at this age a good doc report along with keeping the heart and blood sugars down
  15. Easier said than done but "My Dad said" It's just good to be out here. Well....he wasn't the greatest of fishermen. But as I look back and get older myself it is "Awesome to get out there" So much going on around us and it's not negative....it's relaxing....therapeutic. I love it....Praise God I can do it. Like mentioned above you will find your bait and technique you like and the wiggle will come.
  16. Fished both the John Day and where it dumps into the Columbia. Used to be a great area for both bank and boat. Dry Creek makes a baby bass tube that worked well in these waters. Also a 3 inch senko they make (so do others too) on a 1/8 ball head work well fished slow. Lots of rock...expect to loose a few. Good luck.
  17. Was fishing a megabass last night....have never thrown it much due to not wanting to loose it and all. Caught a few on it and then .....wing....knot breaks and off it goes into the unknown.....sadness....much sadness
  18. Was going to fish but this year we just went to the kids and did lots of hugging with the new little one and wrestling with the older ones. As mentioned .... time is precious and we are blessed with family and friends. Even if not on the water.....:)
  19. Thanks for info......lifted
  20. I'm very fortunate...we just had our 45 anniversary and as far life has gone it has had it's ups and downs. Thought I should try and sell the boat a couple times due to lifes little bumps and ohhhhhhhhh....she got kinda ugly. You will "NOT" sell the boat .... I don't give a $#@!. Things always seem to work out...Praise God She's my favorite and best keeper.
  21. Ya better listen to her.....
  22. Enjoy the moment....should you see topwater movement....(you know what to do...I like poppers or spooks)' Pretty hard to go wrong with a senko or ned too if no action on top. Sunny....docks are always an option Enjoy your trip
  23. Once again the "ol expression" ....time on the water!!
