  1. I may try and visit even though I live close. Not a crowd person at all if I can help it. Have a good friend coming out from Arizona at this time so I may be changing my planning.
  2. Glad all went well for you and that your bond with family is so close.
  3. Like Tom I'm doing the full circle of lines. Still like the braid on my spinning but for other than frogging it's mono for me. And leaders on the spinning I'm still using up my fluro. The straw that broke the camels back was the ol fluro getting a kink in a backlash and "tink...." there goes a spool of fluro.....
  4. When I'm fun fishing all bites are good....even yellow and white bass!!
  5. Did a black Friday thing many years ago....learned my lesson. I think better of my fellow man when I don't venture out when they are acting like $#@!%. Both on the roads and in the stores.....it's bad enough already.
  6. That's all sadness right there!!!
  7. Pretty setting....
  8. Thank you...but now.....any ice I stay away!!!
  9. Understand....it's life....we have to ask the good Lord once in awhile to give our daughter a little squeeze.
  10. Well it's black Friday morning and I slept in till 7:30 ...checked my blood surgars and they are normal. Shocked as I was a "pig" kinda as far as carbs. Anyway...I don't have to go shopping...we have company so we're hitting the golf coarse and then tomorrow I get to hit the lake in the afternoon. Wow...I am blessed to be sure. Had a house full so was hectic...found out neighbor was home by himself so got lucky and he came over too. Love Thanksgiving....now Christmas is a bit more hectic....not as fun. Love the reason for the Season but believe it has changed just a bit!!!
  11. To make a long story short back in the ol days I knew some people who worked at Shimano that were really cool and I had the privilege of taking them fishing. I worked in the industry and fished a lot.....a lot. So was in the right place at the right time and they were very fond memories. Kind of why it will be hard to give up reel and also why it will go on a shelf. I remember fishing a Western Divisional for Oregon and we were down at Lake Pleasant many years ago. I drew this young lad and his tackle was very marginal (nice kid). I believe I gave him at the time a nice outfit to use for the application we were doing. Anyway we both had good limits at the end of the day and I said HERE....he goes what!!!! I had gave him the Lami and an one of those awesome green Shimano's (Curado's) that he was using of mine. I got a warm fuzzy feeling there!!!!! Hope he's still chasing those green fish.
  12. Ohhhhhhhh.....remember eating those...awesome. Due to one of life's bumps it's only nut butters for me now....I do miss the challenges. Enjoy.
  13. May this day and more be blessed for you all. P.S. Remember when this day was a fishing/hunting day many years ago....now it's grand-kids and hugs and playing!! Definitely more physically demanding!!
  14. I too have a reel that's going up on the shelf. A Stella FA that was a gift many years ago and has caught litterly a bazillion fish and been everywhere. They don't make parts anymore and it just doesn't feel the same. Have had it into a shop twice in the last six months and ...oh well...Guess I will just say thank you "Ol Friend".
  15. Sneaking out to go there for a couple hours before company comes....fingers crossed
  16. I remember back a million years ago we used to do that but not the cane pole thing.....we took turns at the front with an oar.... Remember once on an ol pond where the back was completly out of the rowboat so we had to sit in the very front to keep the back end up. Ahhhhhh......memories
  17. Bugs too.....!!!
  18. I thought this was really cool....should have taken a pic and if I see them again I will....just don't fish this area of Louden much. But anyway...when I was launching my boat I see these two older gentlemen launching this ol tin boat with a small motor ...also very antiqued. They're parked at dock and in no hurry so when I launch I peek into their boat and there's just two "heavy" can poles...heavy line with bobber and a large black grub. I thought OMG....WOW. And then....when I checked out my boat and was fishing the last bank I was gunna check out here they are going down the bank. The older of the two was perched on the bow of this little boat. One foot touching the water...other in boat. Right arm holding the pole....left arm using a wooden paddle like a trolling motor. He was good. It was quiet time just watching them.....wow.
  19. It's been there for long time I believe....(looked up road) It's on topside rd. I have to learn names of creeks better....sorry. They are up from boat ramp about half mile. Nice area...Singleton park I believe.... Secret place!!!!!
  20. Gosh..not sure...one just down the hill from Ultra Marine.....what's that one called.
  21. Saw this on the wall when I went to pic up my boat friday......
  22. Testing something real quick. Nice fish I caught on a chatterbait yesterday.
  23. I might add only one thing...especially since you are fishing from the bank...maybe two. Number one....walk the bank like you are hunting. I find cloths that blend and quiet foot steps get you closer to the big ones. Try fishing more parallel with the bank....you maybe doing this in the spring but if not....it works. It's pretty hard to beat a Texas rigged worm or floating worm and last not least the infamous senko!!!
