  1. Traveling.....fishing....day after day....watching sunrise's on the water....feeling the tug....don't have to be big....love it all. But I've had to slow down...three or four days in a row is all I seem to get now....wallet has to refill and body has to recharge.....
  2. Please....told a friend he has to get rid of those rodent's..... Don't like to put em in the boat as they poop everywhere....but they are fun and pretty. Fins just glow in the water...pretty. Should be awesome after all this rain...they go shallow.
  3. Great input....thanks for smiles. I have offered to take care of the eight point that runs across the greens and leaves marks!!! Do enjoy looking for golf balls too...good exercise.....hmmmm...guess I just like being outside. Driving me kinda crazy with the shortened days....those poor people up north....short days and snow days....OMG.
  4. Met a friend yesterday morning at the ramp....I was there a bit early (daylight) and water temps were still in the low 50's!! Air temp...low 30's. Water was so quiet...fish were moving and chasing in spots....awesome. Only saw one other boat all day and they were going into the backs of cove's I believe looking for ducks. Fishing was good....looking for bass and caught everything...even had a double on nice whites. At one time the whites were so thick the A-rig could hardly sink they were pounding it so much....crazy. Now...will see what this storm brings....can't fish as have a couple basketball games to go to...which is cool too. Tight Lines
  5. Some info on where your're trying could be helpful to those who live in area.....
  6. Once you adjust the mags properly it's awesome. Took me a bit.
  7. Yesterday I was blessed to watch my grand-daughter till noon. Yup....she has me wrapped....but anyway we had a few snow flakes blowing (this stuff belongs up north). Was going to take boat out but didn't want to for a couple hours as I have to put all my stuff back in ....AGAIN...as she died on me in a tourney last sat and just got her back tues. Anyway....don't know if there's any golfers here but thought it would do the ol diabetics good to get some more exercise so went golfing. Was the only one there!!!! Walked the first nine...whew and rode the second. Was asked several times before I went....how can you golf in this weather?? I say...I like fishing in it....and golfing is ok too. Less people...body is a little stiff...but there is clothing that keeps us warm....am blessed for sure. Seems I don't golf any worse when it's cold!!!!
  8. I've had it now for bout six months and paid around 50 threw Amazon with free shipping. Seems there prices vary...just looking and it's not free shipping right now. Believe it's the 6:3:1 ....not sure without looking again but right in there. Holds a ton of line too. Hoping to get another for Christmas....fits in the hand awesome.
  9. Sadness.....
  10. Sweeeeeeeet Tight Lines....
  11. Really loved my little Shimano Magnumlites....now I'm using one of the Kastkings Assissin's. Should look at the numbers but believe it's lighter?? Well...just looked up....mag lite was 6.5 and Assissin is 5.7. Oh...my. Should the reel last half as long as the Shimano I will be smiling. So far so good.
  12. Started with a jon boat...and have moved up. Present boat is 16 years old and in good shape. Never have owned a cottage or summer home. Would assume this would be a boat payment maybe!? Considering travel time and other expenses. But...it's all good....we chose what we care to do.
  13. Just had a thought that maybe already has been covered. Crawdads in some body's of water turn orange or shades of orange in the fall.....Wonder if this co insides with the leaves changing and them blending into the bottom for camo purposes!? (gosh....water's not even frozen here!)
  14. Read this....read this again...Oh my. Only thing that came to mind was I wish we all loved our neighbors this much!!! They say even a tree can tell when it's getting cut down...sooooo....guess there's only one club you may want to belong too. Best of luck.
  15. Ya ain't lived until you've brought a real tree in the house and it's got a bunch of bee's in it that thaw out after a couple hours.....OMG. We do both but mostly artificial now....and yes....I spray all real tree's too now!
  16. Only advise I would give is go for the experience and fish your best and take deep breaths at times. You could get all great draws or you may get one unique one. But.....you will learn.
  17. Work of art....very nice work.
  18. Have done quite a bit of it and it's fun and have caught some toads both out west and here in Tennessee. It fishes a little slower than I like but it is so fun. I actually use a ten foot rod for the fixed float....just like the one I used for steelhead. It's rated 4-8 I believe. Four or six lb leader and a 1/8 or 1/16 home tie. It is fun watching a bobber. I have had better luck and feel like I'm more active just throwing a 1/8 fly on a light spinning rod...counting down and bringing it in slow and waiting for the tick....Do this with eight pound braid and six pound leader usually. Tight Lines
  19. :)......at least your flexible.... Now...me.....I would be stuck.
  20. On a big body of water I like to take one arm that seems to have it all and learn it. Only way I know to help fish against local knowledge.
  21. One of the neatest camp/bass fishing trips I had was waking up in the morning in the campground at lake Orville California and having a deer looking in my van window!!!! Sheesh. Then in same campground was washing my face over the sink and saw movement just in front of me......jumped back and looked and here comes a little frog out of the overflow on the sink....little @#!$ startled me good. Oh....same restroom had a bat too over the shower....this place had it all....plus good fishing.
  22. After the kids had grown I fished a lot.....was fortunate threw the state federation and BASS Nationals to go to many states. Fished all ten of the west's Federation states and five of the National destinations and now I've lived in Tennessee for ten years and have been blessed traveling around here. It has been a great ride with many dips and mountains. Met a lot of interesting people too. Probably wound't have done it without BASS or the FLW. Last but not least my great wife and family and the Good Lords blessings.
  23. Catch a "lot" of big smallies on three inch baits....especially in colder water.
  24. Fishing was slow one day this week but it was oh so cool to watch the bald eagles scaring the poooh out of the ducks!!
  25. It's always worth going out...if I can get out of the drive way. Personally...I enjoy the challenge and the beauty of each day given to us....I know this will change someday.....but....today....bring it.
