Found a Tilly that fit and wear it in summers...have two baseball style hats that I treasure as my head is almost an eight so hard to find hats that fit well.

Interesting choices... My son would be my favorite and like mentioned above my Dad would be cool to fish with again. He wasn't much of a catcher so always said "It's just good to be out here" That's kind of stuck with me...he was a good gentle man. Hopefully the grandkids want to fish with grandpa too a little more someday. And my daughter too...bless her heart..she's with the Lord now and we had some great times too. Dang...ya all got me thinking. I have got to fish with some of the big names back in the day and it was cool...very....but my kids/family.....#1

Well....kind of felt this was coming but wasn't positive. Ho....Ho....Ho. Took the boat in again Monday after it failed again!! Seems I broke a reed...and the injectors need cleaned(don't believe this has ever been done) and the oil pump is taking a dump. I knew the oil pump was going so this was included. Anyway...yes I'm spoiled and blessed but it will be probably two weeks or better before I get the ol girl back. Missing her already....class is out for the fishes too as I can't give any education hook sets on the lake. Guess my golf game will get some attention and will do some golf ball hunting. Blessed to be able to take to shop and have an amazing wife. Merry Christmas all.

It's amazing how the times have changed since we brought up our kids...oh my gosh. There are so many many things pulling at them it seems that wasn't available or happening back in the day!! Am blessed to watch the grandkids fairly often and if it's not raining....cold...or some other unique reason they may even go fishing with me.... Time passes quick......as far as gifts....they still want to give something...it can get testy if you say I'm good. So ... will mention something small....they happy....me happy.

Glad your mom is doing better. We lost our daughter to cancer four years ago. She didn’t smoke and was oral cancer. Nasty stuff

There are so many combinations out there on reel seats and I agree some are just not fit for the hand. I just made a purchase on a rod a couple months ago and we are becoming fast friends...it’s a Dixie Icon Series made locally and I love throwing small baits on this rod. Was out again yesterday....saw one other boat that beat us to the ramp....wintertime competition!!! Guess they were crappie fishing. High bluebird sky's made for some tougher fishing but went deep and found joy. Along towards eve the whites started chasing so some education was done here too. Tight Lines

A friend from shimano showed me to put a little shimano oil into some shimano grease to thin it. Then put a touch of this on the worm. He also said less is more when using grease and oil. Oil for bearings....grease for gears. Good luck and enjoy

This is a memory maker. Since moving out east I've joined a club and have been given flak about spinning tackle. I've seen what they call finesse spinning in their boats and it's OMG stuff. Granted theirs a few but Oh so few. Most of em consider 30 pound braid with a 12 or 15 leader and that's fine....perfect. I like eight and ten pound braid with six and eight leaders. ML fast tip rods around seven ft...with a 2500 size reel that's light in weight so you can fish all day and every fish is an adventure.

Don't check out reports....I just want to go fishing so I go. Fishing and catching is ever changing and addicting.

Wow.....now I'm positive I'm not moving north!!!

Well...the fish are biting and I have to take the ol girl into the shop ....again. Think this is the forth time this year not counting my little fixes. The boats a Tr20 from 2002. I have fished from Oregon to New Mexico around to Texas and now Tennessee and around. But this...this is the year the ol girl is wanting some attention. This boat as the saying goes owes me nothing...been very reliable. So...off the to shop again on Monday...going to limp around this Saturday in a tourney but think I can do it. If not...I have a 36v to get back. This has been done!! Think I may go by a lottery ticket too.

A small local shop mostly...am fortunate. Do order some online stuff but it is minimal. Love going into small shops...it's like an adventure.

Have been a line watcher for years...many fish have made it to the boat without feeling the bite but seeing the line walking off. Now I need the yellow line and clear line to watch it better.

I like to pretend I'm walking the dog with "little" twitches...then a big twitch and pause.....ummmmmmm

Snowing in Knoxville.....well....guess it's a good day for Christmas stuff and making me honey happy. Christmas cards...decorations...getting the boat ready for Tuesday....oops.
