  1. Ya Think!!!!! Well....done
  2. Always been a fan of Kevlar for tying jigs and trebles. Now I use 6# braid as I can get at the Sportsman show even cheaper and 250 yds lasts me about a year now. As for coatings … a drop of superglue does just fine right before the whip finish.
  3. My thoughts on fishing a kayak in the south is you all have nerves of steel. Being that close to the water and looking a snake in the eye is truly bravery. Would have done it on the west coast...down south....NOT.
  4. Always...file is on the deck.
  5. Use the Bill Dance for tough ones and I make little two ounce egg sinkers with a duo lock on end for plastics and jigs. Works for cranks to and is easy...just clip on and send down
  6. Was a great show....there are so many hero's out there that were never known too. Sometimes I just get quiet thinking about it all.
  7. I remember fishing with Grandma...loved to salmon fish out of Warrenton, Oregon. It was my Grandpa's marina. Never did get to fish with the Grandpa's. Remember them but from memories they seemed to work all the time.
  8. Good luck…. Let the addiction begin.
  9. Went from tying fly's many years ago and thinking I wanted to be a purist in the fly fishing thing. Then...….bass fishing bit me. Downhill ever since...have poured, painted, tied, created......repeated. And.....I don't even live up north and have to worry about hard water!!! Enjoy....good luck.
  10. Have done a lot...a lot of pouring with the Mustad black nickels…..great hook.
  11. I don't want to even imagine what it would be like to live in that #@!$. Wow....you all are tough.
  12. Fingers crossed....
  13. You seem to be doing well....awesome. Remember times walking to mailbox after my adventure..(short distance)...head down...bowed over thinking am I there yet. Was painful...now I love walking.
  14. My granddaughter is 16 months....I'm wrapped....and heading for more wrapped.
  15. Agreed....it's a fishing day.
  16. Love an organized boat....if something is on the deck such as weeds or line...it's gotta go. P.S. Also chief cook and bottle washer at home.
  17. I'll go with the belief that it's the sudden movements that frighten fish the most. After all they spend a good portion of their lives up shallow when they are young and up there they have many enemy's. Kingfishers, herons, snakes, man and the list goes on. A quick movement usually means danger. Stealth over color!!
  18. Fishing with someone else is like a marriage. Some are good...some better...some #@!$. Personally I like the front of the boat where I can make the decisions and blame myself.
  19. I'm starting to like the Suffix better than Power Pro. I have four working spinning rods in the boat. Two with ten and two with eight. The eight I use for Neds and other smaller presentations and the ten usually gets ten and twelve pound leader.
  20. After many many years of service my Chronarchs are sounding bad. The old Curado's still hold in there though. Simple routine maintance have kept them going. For spinning the Daiwa 1300SS are battleships...they've gotten loose but still work awesome. Finding out that the smaller and lighter casting reels are easier on my hands now...the ol thumb and palm area of the hand can get painful. So have made a couple purchases this year. Been a long time.
  21. We moved to E Tennessee to be with grandkids from Oregon....so glad our kids picked Knoxville.
  22. Well....went again yesterday. Was the third boat on the water....sheesh...this guys are getting tougher now!! With the big ol front coming in it was tough again. Did manage a couple keepers but again the ol girl decided to pout....could not get over five grand on the tach. Gosh...I know more than one person is pulling hair but again I will unload the boat/tackle box. But not until after I use it this sat in a tourney. At least I don't have to run far I don't believe to catch fish. (I hope) I may start just using a carry on bag....(sadness) and two up my visits to get a lottery ticket !! Tight Lines Thanks...me too
  23. 2 cents Have three Kast Kings. Also have Daiwa spin...Shimano casting. Love my Kast Kings … been a year... so far so very good.
