  1. Thank you all for the kind comments....I just got my boat back again and and and my fingers are crossed. The people who are doing the fixing have been awesome....this boat has been one heck of a challenge.
  2. I too wear the Nitrile in black and the 3 mil. Awesome and have worn for about three years now. Five mil is a bit stiff for these ol hands but three is good and holds up well. When really really cold will put a pair of light finger less over them. They are amazing....
  3. Your probably right on the numbers .... I would also imagine that this wasn't the first classic where there were counts done though either. Believing everything we hear or read too is up for grabs too. Thanks...back to reality
  4. Show and last day weigh in were amazing. Spent three long days there with many friends and saw old friends I hadn't seen in many years. Was awesome..... Walked from weigh in area to show three days in a row and back and got some good exercise to be sure. People were amazing at show....everyone was having a good time...never saw any rudeness and talked to people out of the blue about fishing and show and things just flowed. Heard many records were met for on attendance I believe too.
  5. Have really been enjoying the Classic and talking to everyone. And....also enjoy FLW an MLF.....variety is the spice of life some say.
  6. Another head shaker for this world and how it's heading....so sad.
  7. I've been going through a ton of stuff and donating to local kids clubs....thinning out the boat....still using the old stuff ....just not as much in the boat. That way when I want to try something new it's more obvious in my boxes.
  8. Hope all ends well for you and neighbors....
  9. So many different opinions....so many different people on the water now than before. High school tourneys...college tourneys and the many others. Also this ol world has changed with the invention of the cell phone and the GPS's. People are in a hurry and it's more of a me...me...me attitude out there. Ol fashioned values....well....I guess are Old Fashioned....I mean how many people really love and respect others. Like Glenn says....fishing should be fun. And ya know what .... some lakes even have more than one spot.....OH Yeah..
  10. I like to stay active too ..... but looking at those weights on the floor I almost pulled a muscle...!!! Well done in your pursuits..
  11. We had our first club tourney yesterday and it turned out amazing. As some of you know my boat has been acting up since December and as I found out yesterday it hasn't stopped!! I was able to use it five times this time before things reared their ugly head ....so back to the shop Monday. Anyway...done whining.....I'm still blessed. Day started well....other than they dropped the water so much that we all had trouble launching!! But I was finally one of those guys that figured out the fish when everyone else had a tougher day. I was blessed to weigh in 18 plus pounds on a local lake while the best the rest of the club had was just over five pounds. Had four smallies and one LMB. Biggest smallie went just over five...was truly an amazing day. And while my partner struggled he did manage in the last five minutes to put a five plus pound LMB in the boat for smiles all around....was a great day other than having to clean the boat out again and take to shop. Oh....the funny part...I got big fish by .01 over his LMB....amazing.
  12. I do miss the Delta...was a great place. Nice fish
  13. I love sports here in east Tennessee just as much as I did living in Corvallis, Oregon. Game days kept more people off the water whether it be pro or college. Not saying I don't watch any....but.....it usually has to be once the sun goes down. I like to smile at all the loyalties.....I'm sure people have smiled at my addiction too. ....and games not recorded.
  14. Seven foot "Drop Shot Special" from Dixie Rods....2500 StellaFA and 8# suffix yellow with 6 or 8 lb leader.
  15. Drive through Pigeon Forge or go to dentist.......Dentist.....they use nitrus!!!
  16. Have gone back to mono almost exclusively except for braid/fluro leaders on spinning rods. I realize the sensitivity is not there quite as much but then I'm a big time line watcher. What I really like is that with the bit of supposedly more stretch I can set the hook harder without sad results. I also don't have to worry about a backlash (as much) destroying my line because of a small kink. Price is nice too... Personal preference....glad I've gone back
  17. You both need some sun!!
  18. Cool...now as one your representing "BR" physicians i recommend going fishing until then!!!
  19. Gosh...everyone one wants to take away this...take away that!!! Would definitely loose sponsor dollars So.....just take em to a boat ramp or a park and have them all fish off the bank. Can only use what you can carry. Now...that would be back to basics.
  20. Clear lake or the Delta would be awesome...for me...if I could use my boat it would be the Columbia River above the Dalles. Soooooo peaceful and hardly any people and amazing smallies.
  21. Did see a couple snowflakes yesterday.....ewwwwwwww
