  1. I will check this out...thank you. Once I knew how and then....... It might be ment to be....as the dealership had the one I wanted. Have heard tales of people waiting weeks.
  2. Thank you....I am so awful on posting pics...like posting but don't seem to be very good at it. It's amazing that I found one and didn't have to order it!!!! It's like it was meant to be.
  3. Bit the bullet...boat expenses went up and down. Up in that I'm getting a new boat next week...down in that my gas and oil bill will be significantly lower with the four stroke. Also maybe this will keep me away from the back doctor as it's so much lighter to move around and manage. Will turn 69 pretty quick and have thought about this long and hard but since we only get one turn on this ol earth and tomorrow is not a given we are going with it. (Vexus 1880)
  4. Was fishing a north coast stream in Oregon many years ago and was fishing for steelhead with glo bugs. I caught this one steelhead about eight or nine pounds and since I didn't want to take fish to bank at the time to land it I just cut the leader. Fish was hooked in side of mouth. Retied on another glo bug .... cast again... hooked up with another steelhead...same fish....was hooked in the other side of mouth with a different color bug....!! Nope...did not bite again.
  5. Have gone to using the 2/0 weedless wacky from Gamme with the fiber weedguard that goes over the point. (can't remember number right now) but I (from a friends advice) bend out the hook just a bit to open it a bit and life is good. Very few losses.
  6. Have gone back to just old Big Game and P-line. LOVE IT.......why did I ever....ever go through the nightmares of fluro for a mainline. Just me....but I haven't lost a fish to a broken line in quite some time now.
  7. Most interesting thing I ever saw was while we were waiting for weigh in on the Columbia River at a place they call 42nd street was a swarm of honey bee's flew across the ramp and into the grill of a van which had been converted into a food truck that was parked at top of ramp. People would pull out of the water and walk by this van and then it was like oh.....#@!%$.....look at all the bee's. And yes....someone came and took em all. Was cool.
  8. Well...never have quit...but have slowed down when daughter fought cancer for nine years....lot's and lots of doctor visits....lot's. Then I got acute pancreatitis and was one step from flower food for a number of months....this too slowed me down. Then the ol boat decides to be a pain ... so this is a minor slow down. But after 69 years I still have the passion and the drive. I guess I could watch sports on TV or keep a cell phone in one hand all the time but will leave that to others!!! Tight Lines
  9. Good info above....I too have done this kind of traveling in the past. Would plan my trip around the good campgrounds also. Many of the lakes have them. Enjoy
  10. This last Tuesday will have been the last day my ol boat will have gotten on pad. As some of you know I have done the Tuesday nighter's with my son for around three years now. And some of you know the ol girl has been giving me problems since last December. Did get to fish the first two club tourneys and got a "W" but I could tell something wasn't right. Well....a chunk of change later and many visits to a local shop I am done....done. This last Tuesday we got up on pad....knowing I was only running on five of the six. This has been going on for a bit..but I was going to fish. Well....running down the lake I feel this little burp....so told my son we are turning around and fishing close. Well...good choice...I now can go about 8 mph.... It sure has the ol mind thinking I can tell ya.....I love my fishing and will be tough for awhile. Still going to do the Tuesdays...(on the electric) and that's cool. Hoping by this fall some ducks fall in a row or something like that....and something else will be in the garage. Ahhhhh....a new adventure...
  11. Thank you....to those who have served and now serve.
  12. Would like to see something done about bottles and cans here out east....lakes are loaded with the floaters in the backs of coves and show up really well before the leaves and green cover it all up threw the summer. I carry a garbage bag but it only makes a tiny dent.... I have idea's but they wouldn't be politically correct today....
  13. Looks like we're all looking for the perfect scenario....... me.....I like the variety...different shows....different stuff....I Have the Power to change channels....
  14. I like the arthritis idea....but it does strike me as interesting that people wear gloves for sun protection but wear short sleeve shirts!?
  15. Have been in garage when the ol spring has busted...very lucky to not get hit. Just last week for some stupid reason a rod tube fell in slot by garage door and blocked door from coming down!!! Soooo...door got sprung and cable unwound. Put a screw driver in slot to prevent door from coming down on me and tried to fix cable that had unwound. Now @#$% ....dummy me when I hit the lift again forgot about the screw driver......door really sprung and had to call a fixer ...... tube went to the recycle land!!! But I'm safe and smiling......
  16. Spinning gear has won me a good chunk on change over the years....hmmmmm.....believe will keep using. Believe even Aaron has had some good fortune with it too over the years.
  17. Love it when a thought comes together.....
  18. I have fished braid a lot on spinning and have always used a leader. For one I don't like the presentation of straight braid so always use a leader. And it's usually fluro. When fishing a Ned or similar baits its 8 lb yellow suffix with a six lb leader. Zero complaints and I get the best of both worlds with seeing my line ...and casting distance....sensitivity.
  19. Sounds awesome....would really not care to wait that long to go fishing though. Not that patient!
  20. Low light times or windy conditions seem to get the most commitment from the bass for me. Doesn't matter if the water is clear or stained. What seems to also really matter is weather it's white or green pumpkin.....so far the white is still bringing them in. It's interesting how you can be getting short strikes because you really like to throw it....then the wind will pick up and it's .....GAME ON.
  21. I only have three Kastkings but enjoy them all and have had to send one in for a thumb bar problem and had great customer service...I tend to agree with Bluebasser on his comments.
  22. TV is definitely not brain food......
  23. Not easy....not at all...savor the memories...make some new ones...
  24. When I have to go as a "Co" my bag is really small. Figure I can only use so much in one day so stick to basic's and spend more time fishing then changing....I can also get most of my water and snacks in there too. BUT....it is more fun to get tackle ready and sort and think and sort and think...
  25. I fish these style baits quite often and have found for myself that the Colorado style blades seem to catch the most fish. Willows ... not so much...could be my area.
