  1. Sooo many great answers here....guess it's all in what you want. You can sit in a park and listen to music. When fishing tend to find it more successful when you can listen to whats going on around you. Fish jumping or chasing, deer snorting, twigs snapping (somethings coming), or watchin a snake come at ya instead of being lost in the tunes....better to be lost in nature. My 2 cents
  2. Does Tony still work there.....been a long time. He was great for service and info. Now that I'm in Tenn.....no more Shasta, Orville....kinda sad.
  3. Ya did good....first with the wife and second with the smoke. May ya have another fourty years or more.
  4. I lost fourty pounds in one month when I had pancreatitus and it wasn't pretty. But best of luck to ya in your adventure. I can hardly wait to work out some myself....but doc won't let me for another month or two. He kinda refuses to fix this big hernia...says I have to take it easy for the summer. But seriously...good luck and be carefull.
  5. Kinda bothers me here out east where they have soooo many tourneys that they release fish at ramps for the most part. And not to gently at that...especially when it's getting hot both in air and water. Mortality has to go up. I like to use a additive in my livewell along with some frozen bottles of water if needed as like the above I like to take care if I can of our valuable resource. Thanks Preytorian for caring...planting seeds in youth is good.
  6. Yup....Have carried a pocket knife for years. Have only lost a few to airports when I forgot them in pocket. Not many people carry them anymore. Keeping them sharp is good to.
  7. Very Nice.......everyday is a gift and you using that to bring yourself back to good times. Keep up the good fight and tight lines
  8. Was at the health food store the other day and doctors and they both said "Melatonin" (prob spelled wrong) which is put out by the brain for sleep may help. It's a natural thing if you want to check in out. After being sick for so long I found when I got up at one in moring for who knows what reason I would drink some oolong tea and maybe a light snack. Check out a couple websites (fishing) and after bout an hour it was back to a good nights rest. Good Luck P.S. The melatonin didn't work for me but it's suppossed too.
  9. Columbia River Sloughs...gotta check out map. Lower Willamette in the sloughs and back waters. Can be real tough but can be rewarding too. Hagg lake has a few but very popular. Coastal lakes for the most part fish the best but a drive from Portland.
  10. When you get a chance head up the Columbia River above the Dalles area. Miles of bank. 1/8 oz speedtraps (fire tiger, crawdad, drop shot 3 inch senko style baits (watermelon candy or pumpkin chart tip) or Dry Creek tubes in baby bass. Try to fish water around points and inlets in about 5 to 15 ft of water. A pop R may get you a bite or two too in the eve's. Good luck P.S. There is some good water below the Dalles area too...but move around. Do not stick to one are if no love is shown. They will bite all day if in area. If really windy try a spinner bait on inside weedlines. Cast a couple times and start walking and casting some more.
  11. Had acute pancreatitus....didn't even look at boat for over three months due to pain. It hit me at two in morning the day of tourney!! Line on reels had turned white from mold as I had shut rod lockers and never even went out to garage to even look at boat as my life was from the couch to the bed and back. Now appreciate time on water even more and thank good Lord for all his beauty. Today it's off to Watt's bar with my son for hopefully some rippin. Good luck
  12. Ya could move to Oregon where a 12 incher is a keeper!! Sorry had ta say that. Since moving east it's interesting to release fish 14 inches and up.
  13. I personally don't usually go to concerts but my daughter took me and my wife to see Zac a couple years ago. We did the BBQ thing where the band eats with ya. Was kind of cool. Concert was good too but didn't enjoy beer getting spilled on me from time to time but it was like a big party I guess. Standing up forever was tough too....needed my bicyle seat from front of boat! Glad you enjoyed
  14. Used to LOVE running up the Columbia river in the morning and watching the sun rise and the mist leaving the water. Now years later I still enjoy sunrises and watching the world wake up and thanking the good Lord for another day. Eve's are awesome too if the bugs aren't too bad and watching things get quiet on the lake. Even though I enjoy eve's it's the worst time for me....that half hour before dark to half hour after.....it's just tuff. Like the above individual.....anytime on water is good times unless it's a Holiday weekend!!
  15. Keeeeeeper
  16. Sounds good to me too....pick your proven favorites and enjoy
  17. Have had two surgerys on right wrist area. The last time they were in there after surgery they said they found something else but couldn't fix due to fact I hadn't approved that spot!!!! This was years ago and I remember going to an accupunture doc and life was good. He fixed it and never had to go under knife again. Hands and wrists will still stiffen up and hurt...but stretch em and so far so good. Good Luck
  18. Thanks for taking the time to serve. I was stationed on Adak, Alaska for 1 year, 17 days, and 13 minutes. Got off on the 21st of June on my 21st birthday. No....I wasn't counting. ......take care
  19. Not going to say a word.
  20. Sounds like some water you'll never have to worry about me being there.
  21. If your bored some busy weekend and want to go to a entertaining show pack up a picnic basket and go to the ramp around noon to three on a busy weekend. If someone asks what your watching say YOU ALLLLLL
  22. Had a good one last weekend. Guy was launching his "bass boat" with his girl. After finally launching...finally....his girl holds the boat in the middle of the ramp. Guess it wouldn't have been so bad but there were two "empty" docks to each side of the ramp. And then for desert another one launches his pleasure craft and just floats with engine running in front of ramp. My son has the trailor in water waiting and he finally looks at me and does the math.
  23. I believe what I use is the improved Trilene knot.....twice through the eye five wraps around itself and it's a done deal. Have used for years and years and no troubles at all and it's simple. Double uni for knots to tie braid to fluro and life is easy pezy and more fishing time Tight Lines
