  1. Glad your getting some of that wet stuff....very glad. Please post if lakes come up....would be curious if ground just soaks up most of it.
  2. I too enjoy the water a lot. Many times will fish alone just so I don't get dissapointed with "friends". I usually only ask once of someone as I really dislike excuses when they have asked and asked and then say can't go for some interesting reason and then if they do go it's "are we done yet" or "what time ya planning on going in"!! Love company ... don't get me wrong. The outdoors is meant for sharing...it's awesome
  3. My hats off to you all who fish in canoe's. Have tried a few times out west ... even floated some small rivers. Could not stop the lower back from shaking and feeling unstable. Now that I live out east the thought of a snake or one of the many bee's that tend to find me I will not try them again. Thoughts of swimming just don't sound good. Good luck to you all
  4. Good advice Cancer is very very ugly....both of my kids have had some form of cancer but not from the sun (I don't believe). I believe the worst is people who lay under those tanning beds...anything artificial is bad for the most part. I myself do wear a Tilly hat for protection of head and face but am guilty of wearing shorts and shirtless in the summer at times. There are soooo many ways of getting cancer that sometimes it's just hard to run and hide from everything. Sorry to sound negative but have been around it for a long time.
  5. Just broke off six inches of my carolina rod yesterday in rod locker!!!!! Even had it in sock....weight got stuck at end. Maybe it was the good Lord tellin me to look for another carolina rig rod or.....just throw something else.
  6. Was steelhead fishing out in Oregon and caught this steelhead about eight pounds or so. I was standing in river and didn't want fish so when it got close I clipped the line by the hook that was in it's jaw so would have to stress it out and beach it. Tied on another glo-bug and next cast caught the same fish with other glo bug in other side of mouth. Was interesting too as the hooks were barbless. Tight Lines
  7. Have used for many years. It's made in Oregon and the people there are awesome. Stuff works great too. I like the bassfeast.
  8. Awesome.....get well soon
  9. Personally if it's summer I'm barefoot in the boat....love it. For me its a well balanced rod/reel. Less fatigue and more enjoyment.
  10. Usually pull tighter to the bank and keep the rods down. Cells seem to come through pretty fast. If it's a biggie would head to ramp or under dock.
  11. A number of years ago I had an invite to go and it was awesome. The time went way to fast. Good memories.....enjoy
  12. Remember in the good ol days I used to have to sit in the front of a wooden row boat to bass fish as the back end was out. It was a challenge but the good thing is no one else ever used it at the pond!!! Also used to take turns paddling from the front of boats we rented at the coast....we sure had strong arms and shoulders for a few years. (LOL) P.S. Sorry about your loss
  13. Wow....hate those things. One of the reasons I quit archery hunting because it was alway during the warmer weather. Now turkey is early spring...nope no turkey hunting either. I seem to be a bug magnet. Since moving here to Tennessee I have got into the habit of spraying the yard and woods close to house with OFF. Comes in a bottle you attach to hose. I know some bugs are supposably good but this keeps the mosquito's down and the tics around the house. P.S. Must not be to bad as we have a bunch of blue tailed lizards around property
  14. Still using the Smelly Jelly after many years. I've always been a believer that if it gets me one more strike it's worth it. "I believe" I've also fished long enough that I've seen days where scents will get you a few more bites.
  15. Since had the pancreatitus I'm back to getting better an better....up to about 8 or 9 hours now... was only two for a long time. Like fishing dawn to dark, especially back in the ol days when fishin lots of tourneys. Remember once fishing San Diego bay when I was in service. Fished 24 hours just so could see the different tide changes and what they brought. Tight Lines
  16. Love rainy days....especially when not windy
  17. Winter days with partial overcast and air temps about 45 to 50. Oh Yeah
  18. When we fish the perfect times we don't learn $@!#. Fish in all conditions and have confidence to go and enjoy the outdoors anytime. As far as tourneys someone always whacks em for the most part....it's fun to be that person! Get out...enjoy...be safe and enjoy what our good Lord has created.
  19. Country mostly...some Christian...other stuff when daughter or wife have control of TV or radio
  20. Congratulations....we just had our 41st on the first of June. Hoping for 41 more. May God Bless
  21. Good luck to you....lifes bumps can come at ya fast.....soooooo fast.
  22. Had a bald eagle on Lake Shasta dive on a super spook once that had a small spot jumping all over. Gave him the spot!
  23. Remember my first tourney also. Couldn't get boat off trailor was so excited. It was a two day event. Finally motor toter broke so boat came off trailor!!! Ended up coming in second by a couple ounces. First day we were fishing shirtless and looking for more to drink. Second day was so cold we couldn't find enough cloths to wear. Good Luck
  24. Jigs Topwater (spook)
