  1. Yes sir, I'm looking forward to getting them both up on the wall! I haven't seen any other replica mount companies with the amount of detail that Dave Campbell has on his fish.
  2. Not to toot my own horn, but my rig is 100% paid for, no monthly reminders here... The house/mortgage is also paid off, did it back in 2012 when I was 31 years old. I did these things on an average salary and with ZERO inheritance. It was saving money and lots of overtime hours at work. My rig is a pure "want". I had a 2013 F250 w/ 2009 Z520 prior to this rig, absolutely nothing wrong with either truck or boat... Bass fishing is my "beer"/"release" in life and in my line of work (cop), I need frequent drinks.... Having top of the line rods, reels and rig makes the overall fishing experience that much more enjoyable for me. And keep in mind too that EVERYTHING we are given whether it be money, materialistic things or just another day to live are gifts from God and that we are just managers of His belongings while here on earth! Yep, pretty simple...
  3. Thanks. I have a skin mount on the wall now of a 7lb I caught back in high school and this replica slaughters it!!! I'm dying now to see it in person and see what he does with my smallie!
  4. Thanks. It's Dave Campbell - www.davecampbellfish.com
  5. Not to hijack thread, but I have (2) Mustang Elite 38's for sale in the Flea Market Forum if interested....
  6. Really cool pic there! That's like a pic that would be in a Ford brochure/pamphlet about the truck...
  7. Another vote for Black.... If it's between silver and blue only, I'd definitely go silver...
  8. No he doesn't make his own blanks, but he does modify them quite a bit. He replaced a couple fins on my largemouth and had to rework a part of the back of the largemouth. He told me he is going to have to replace a few fins on my smallie, because the ones that came with the mold didn't look good...
  9. Yes sir, all of the above. Length, girth, weight and tons of pics.... He's going to start my PB smallie soon too, can't wait to see the driftwood layout options and final colors on that one too!!!
  10. Yep, he's one of the best in the country. I noticed that others (Lake Fork Taxidermy, etc.) were just doing general air brush paint jobs with little detail... Dave does each individual scale! My avatar pic is my PB, but yeah I can post more pics of the actual vs replica. I think it looks phenomenal!
  11. Thanks! I did a ton of research and Dave's name came up several times as being one of the best in the country... I noticed with a lot of the other replica companies (Lake Fork, etc) would just do an overall air brush paint job with zero scale detail, etc. Granted, all of those type companies were in the $500-$700 price range and I paid roughly tripe that for each of my fish... My theory is there's a reason a Lamborghini costs more than a Ford Fusion.....!!!! Dave is also doing my PB smallie (6lb 4oz) and he said he should have it finished by May 1st. My largemouth he's doing is 12lb 8oz. It's about a 1 year turn around time with him now. I'm jacked up, can't wait to see it in person and put it up on the wall..... He has a "studio grade" (economical) and a "master grade" (his top of the line/"platinum" finish), both my largemouth and smallie are master grades. Check him out - www.davecampbellfish.com
  12. Dave sent me some updated pics... It should be finished in a couple weeks. Scale detail is awesome, can't wait to see it in person!
  13. Thanks. No sir, got it at Renegade Marine in Leitchfield. They beat all of the 25+ dealers I contacted by a couple thousand bucks. I did talk to Day's though and tried to get them to at least match Renegade, but they wouldn't. I knew exactly what I wanted and I just dealer shopped to see who was going to give me the lowest OTD price, period. I did the same with my truck and my wife's Grand Cherokee. I'd walk into a dealer with my build sheet and lowest quote so far in hand and if they couldn't beat it, I walked out... Appreciate it sir.
  14. Thanks man, appreciate it. Thanks!
  15. Picked her up this week... - 2018 Ranger Z520L w/G2 - G2 w/ upgraded power steering and hot foot - Atlas hydraulic plate - Ultrex 112 - (2) Solix 15 Mega's (1 flush at console, 1 on BBT mount at bow) - Humminbird 360 - (4) Northstar/X2 31 series AGM's - tilt steering and dual trim levers
  16. Thanks! Yours looks good, I thought about putting a baitfish or lure in my mount, but I probably won't
  17. I don't know total numbers for 2017, but I do remember my best bass fishing trip of my life happened in 2017..... I broke my PB 5 times in four days... The five that broke my previous PB that trip were: 12lb 8oz, 9lb 4oz, 9lb 4oz, 8lb and 8lb. I had a 34lb 8oz bag one day, then a 35lb bag the next day and then the final day I caught just one single fish the whole day, but it was a 12lb 8oz gorilla!!! I'm smiling ear to ear just typing this and remembering that trip!
  18. Thanks. Yes sir, same fish. Watched her swim away, an awesome feeling! Thanks! I was leaning towards #2 prior to posting this thread and I'm still thinking #2... I'll post pics when I get it. He told me it'll be complete by February on my largemouth and then March-May on my smallie... Yeah, I'm thinking #2... Yeah, it's going on the wall in my office. I like the lower nameplate too... LOL. Thanks! Well, I'm heading back to Chickamauga in a couple weeks! Plus, there was a 14.53lb caught a couple days ago, so your plan "B" might work............!
  19. My taxidermist gave me 3 options for the layout of my PB (12lb 8oz) replica mount... Which do you like?
  20. I had (4) NRX 893C's and that was the most versatile casting NRX I owned IMO. The 903C Conquest is the same, it and the 904C Conquest I think are going to be my favorites. When I fished the 903C I used the same exact baits I had previously used on the 893C NRX and the Conquest handled them perfectly. I'd say once you get past the 5/8oz - 3/4oz bait range the 904C will be a better choice. If you throw 5/8oz or less a majority of the time, I'd get the 903C and vise versa with the 904C.
  21. I will do the same thing when I reach retirement... Except my house will be on a lake in the south! (Which ever lake is the "hottest" at that time for bass.... )
  22. Yep. I use Calcutta 400D's for my deep crankbaits and big swimbaits...
  23. I have 10 of them. I use them for all of my techniques, they handle just fine... I have braid on one that I use for frogs and big topwaters. I have 15# Tatsu on most of them and 12# Tatsu on a couple. 15# is the biggest line you can put on them though and not spool yourself on a long cast. I don't throw smaller crankbaits a lot, but when I do the higher gear ratio isn't a problem for me. The drag is plenty strong. I have all 10 of the Aldebaran's paired on Conquest rods, a dream combo to fish with!!! I've used up to 1 1/8 oz flutter spoons and 1oz+ topwates on the Aldebaran's, handled the baits just fine......
