  1. I wonder how the spinnerbaits hold? I also wonder how much? Hearing 2 jigs for $9 sounds crazy.
  2. I agree on this term. I agree with I like the SK silents. I think I'll try some SK's since I've used the Squarebill SK's. That's a good tip. I usually fish 10 ft of water and sometimes a little deeper. Yeah after I read your post I came to thought of getting some SK's because of the fact I love how the squarebills run true and have great action, I think I'll try the SK's before venturing out to the norman and bandit baits. I think it's hard to say which one is the best from everyones personal preference each love how each one works and a bass in each area of each region love different presentations. Thanks all for your help. I love quality. I'll be keeping these lures in my list for the future. I agree blue and pen kid that go with what is working for me. I'll stick to SK cranks since they have worked. I did like the bomber's and norman cranks sound like they are great too. Thanks all.
  3. I've own a few just looking to try something different. I agree they are a great crank. I'm wondering whats the best brand ya know? The best running crankbait. Like for squarebills I love strike king.
  4. First off, Happy New Year all. My question is what deep crankbait series should I get? Also what colors work for you? I've noticed bomber's are talked a lot on here. I really like the "Bomber® Bill Dance Signature Series Hardbaits - Fat Free Shad." Are these any good? What's better the regular fat free shad or the bomber fat free shad signature series kind? I want one for each specific depth. 6 to 7 ft, 9 to 10 ft, 15 ft, and 18 ft. These are the depths I usually fish. Your help is appreciated.
  5. could be a collectible one too. Id preserve it or go to an antique fishing place to find out what lure it is. You could also get antique lure books as well.
  6. Hello All, Currently I own the Plano http://planomolding.com/product.php?PID=731 --> 3570-00 3500 Size CDS StowAway tray. I was using it for weights (example tungsten), split rings, and treble hooks. The Size of this tray/box is about half the size of a 3707 size trays. It's size is great! but... whenever it gets bounced around from bag to me opening. I always end up with a mess! From split rings in other slots to weights in other slots is annoying fixing each time. The split rings go under the dividers because the dividers don't sit perfectly to the bottom of the tray. Also the top clearance of the dividers has a gap so whenever the tray is bumped around the split rings end up all over as well as the weights. My question is... Is there any box around 3570 that's better for handling weights, split rings, and treble hooks? I'd even consider going to a 3700 size if needed. The box doesn't have to be plano. I'm just using Plano as example because of me owning it and currently using it. I want a better utility system that's more organizable. I own quite a bit of the 3700 boxes as in spinnerbait to crankbait. I love them. Picture's and posting is appreciated! Thanks for your help.
  7. Lew's® Speed Spool® Tournament Baitcast Reel (6:4:1) with The Dobyns Champion Series 704CB (7'0").
  8. That's what I was thinking. I was going to do that. Assuming I'm able to get both deals. It's a steal. If not then it's not a steal. If I do it like you said I see no problem in getting both
  9. X2 It works. I bought a rod just over 100 bucks got $10 off from promo code gmt5, plus free shipping to home, plus when the rod comes fill out the rebate for $30 off. Also I seen on http://stcroixrods.com/ you can get a free $60 performance long sleeve shirt when you fill out forum they have on website. Its when you buy a rod from dec. 1st 2013 to april 1st 2014. Its on any rod(s) you buy over $100 in that date frame. Really cool deal. Almost a steal for a rod just over $100 bucks.
  10. I like the avid rod. I'll have to keep in mind. Also like the symetre reel too. Thats what I was thinking but wasn't sure. I used an UL pole to catch them but i want more backbone and power instead of a UL. Thanks for your help farmer. I'll be sure to get 6930 size. I own a president and I love it. I want another for smallmouth. I'll be getting a ML rod thanks farmer and snake. WIll try these out. Thanks everyone else for your input much appreciated. Smallmouth here aren't as big as Lake Michigan smallmouth but they put up a good fight lol.
  11. Where you seeing these? LOL
  12. I like caronlite. I have one but not one for a crankbait. They are good. You've really went around on rod/reels. I like your stories. I will be generally using squarebills in and around 5 ft of water. I also like to burn my squarebills. When I burn my squarebills on the canal where I live, the bass go crazy. They think it's a fish fleeing. I use bluegill color mainly. I also like the 6:4:1 ratio which I will use on the reel. On the rod, I was thinking of saving a $100 bucks more and getting a Dobyns Champion. I think ill be getting a lews reel. I love BPS rods/reels. Always have and always will. I'll give these consideration also.
  13. Going to make a spinning rod/reel set for Smallmouth I fish for in my area. The smallmouth range from few ounces to mainly just around 3 pounds. I mainly use small crankbaits such as the strike king bitsy. I also use in-line spinners from 1/8 oz to 1/4 oz. I also use small plastic worms about 3" to 4" long. The spinning rod I want to have a lot of backbone but also be "light." Sensitivity can be average or above. I want rod to be 7ft (was thinking a light rod?). What would be a great rod for this around my price range of $100 to $150. The reel is going to president pfluegar spinning reel. I just don't know which size I should go for this application of small spinnerbaits and in-line spinners. Which size should I get? Thanks for your help appreciated.
  14. I live in midwest so shipping for me is roughly $20 bucks to other midwest states
  15. If you can go up to $150 you can get to rods like dobyns which are just as good maybe a slight better. I also like St Croix rods. There's many rods in this range but make sure you put your reel to rod only way you will know if it's a "perfect" fit.
  16. You could go for a lews speed spool for $99.00 great quality. Also as they said above BPS has some good baitcaster reels.
  17. X2 Id be out the door before I even got to see them!
  18. X2 pfleuger's are good I own 1 president and one supreme XT spinning reels I love them. They are tough and strong. Just don't get the pflueger rod its a generic rod that you can do better. BPS has some rods just under 100 bucks that are good quality.
  19. Yeah I guess. I own one already. I was letting him know but like you said if you could sell for 266 that's pretty close and good deal!
  20. I'll X2 Def. want to get a dobyns rod. Probally get one around end of winter/spring.
  21. Wait for spring fishing sale. Save a little money. I bought the MGX for $250 at BPS with discount to bringing in an old reel. Worth the extra money.
  22. I like the Lews! I see a lot love them as well. I might have to buy another one I know Road Warrior your gear selection is one of the best advice on here. I'll have to look at these Pinnacles. I seen a few of these before fished. Do they have any sales on Lews or Pinnacles this winter?
  23. I'm looking to make a crank bait rod/reel set. Below are the dynamics I want. What is your best rod and reel for under 200 bucks (Each under $200 or Both totaling $200). I want a bait caster reel/rod. **Medium action rod 7 ft ***Bait caster reel medium or fast speed Thanks for your help!
