  1. Recently bought a Lowrance Elite 7 HDI fishfinder. I wanted some recommendations for a good navigation chip. I fish mostly in NJ and fish a lot of small lakes and reservoirs.
  2. I am looking for recommendations for a low memory (very soft) flurocarbon line. 8 pound test for spinning and 12-14 for baitcasting.
  3. I am trying to find the small rubber/plastic line stoppers for pegging bullet weights. I have checked Cabelas and Bass Pro with no luck. Does anyone know the company or product name and where to buy them? I do not want the kind that you thread through the weight and clip but the small ones that slide on the line.
  4. I mostly fish small clear northern lakes and reservoirs for both smallmouths and largemouths.
  5. What are the best trailers to use on swim jigs?
  6. First set the spool tension. Tie whatever lure you plan to use on. Then release the spool allowing the lure to go to the ground (or your baot deck). Adjust the spool tension so that when the lure hits, the spool stops letting out line. Then set your magnetic brake to the highest position (10 on some reels). This will limit your casting distance but will also minimize backlashes. As you get better at casting you can ratchet the magnetic brake back.
  7. I haven't used swim jigs much and have a few questions. 1. What are the best depths to fish them? 2. What is the proper way to set the hook? The few times I have used them and got bit i didnt hook up. Someone told me to hold my rod high and drop it when i feel a hit. Then set the hook. Is this correct or do you hit immediately? 3. Recommended jigs and weights?
  8. I am looking for the most flexible flourocarbon line. I have been using Berkely Vanish on both spinning and baitcasters but am frustrated with line pouring off the reel. Any suggestions?
