  1. It depends on the truck and the bumper. I currently pull a 16 foot Carolina Skiff with a 40 Yamaha behind my 2001 V-6 Tundra without any problems. It has the factory bumper which is rated for 500 pound tongue weight (no way would I try and pull anything with that much tongue weight). I used to pull a 19 foot I/O deep vee runabout that weighed at least 3500 lbs with a 74 Chevy 3/4 ton 454 that had a super heavy duty after market step bumper.
  2. Balance. IMHO, there is way too much emphasis put on lightness.
  3. This is a matter of opinion. If this was an absolute fact, manufacturers wouldn't build reels with a bail trip. They would be cheaper to make and everybody would use them that way. Spinning reels used to have positive bail catches and you couldn't close them manually.
  4. OP is from Canada, I don't think he has a Social Security number.
  5. 66, I'm crustier and those Gov checks come every month. ;D
  6. I like Fireline for some applications. On the other hand, I have tried Power Pro and two types of Yo Zuri hybrid and won't give you a nickel for either one. IMHO, line choice is solely a matter of personal preference. I really get tired of hearing the praises of Yo Zuri, the stuff is like wire.
  7. If you go to Bass Pro, just go to customer service desk (its at the front of the store as you walk in). You just need ID. The non resident license is $15 per day or $55 for the annual. You can also get a license at Wal-Mart's or Academy sports.
  8. Unless daddy has one of those diamond mines in Canada, I think I smell something here.
  9. All Curado's have always been made in Japan. The Citica 100d was also made in Japan, the Citica 200d was made in Malaysia.
  10. There is a Bass Pro at Grapevine. It is one of the big ones. We have two in DFW and the one in Grapevine is at least twice as big as the one in Garland.
  11. The Dallas-Fort Worth area. Within 15 minutes to 2-3 hours, you can fish for anything except those toothy yankee fish. Walleye aren't quite that close, but Oklahoma and Arkansas both have 'eyes within 4 - 5 hours if you just have to fish for them. I live on the east side of Dallas and within 1 hour I can fish for Bass at Fork, stripers at three lakes, including Texoma, crappie all over, Redfish (stocked in a power plant lake), and when I want to fish saltwater, thats a 5 hour max drive to the Gulf coast. Plenty of industry for your work also.
  12. More than I care to count; somewhere north of 100 rods.
  13. my mistake, mine is the Brush Buster; I didn't read the posts (difference in names) close enough. :-[
  14. The only time you should have the flippin' switch on is when you are flipping, not pitching and not casting. The whole purpose is so that you can pull the line out to flip, then let go of the spool release and make your flip. When flipping, you should only have to release line after you reel in a fish.
  15. The best way I have found is to turn the trailer around on the hook so that the barb is towards the front of the trailer. Then, as you pull the trailer off the hook, pull on the tail, the pork should slide off the hook. One other thing I do is to take my knife and push the point slightly through the pre-punched hole. This makes it easier both to put the trailer on and to take it off.
  16. The Brushmaster 11 is the Left Hand version of the Brushmaster. I also have the Brushmaster 10 and still use it on one of my flippin' sticks. I tried to buy an 11 off ebay several years ago, but somebody wanted it a lot more than I did (probably 2 somebodies)
  17. This popped up in one of the Ebay ads that show up on the left side of the forum pages. This reel is $39.95 at BPS. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130230126726&ru=http://search.ebay.com:80/130230126726_W0QQadgroup_idZ296611881QQcreative_idZ1371312111QQfclZ4QQfnuZ1QQfsopZ1QQkeywordZbassQ20fishingQ20reelsQQoriginZhttpQ3aQ2fQ2fwwwQ2ebassresourceQ2ecomQ2fbassQ5ffishingQ5fforumsQ2fYaBBQ2eplQ3fnumQ3d1213642171QQtestZGadgetQ5fKWQQtypeZQ7bifsearchQ3asearchQ7dQ7bifcontentQ3acontentQ7dQQfviZ1
  18. I used to use Jelly Worms.....but they smelled so good, they made me hungry!!!! ;D
  19. I see an American Airlines bashing thread in the future.
  20. Revo's are made in Korea, except the later "S's" are made in China, Quantums are made in China now, 200 and up Citica's are made in Malaysia, 100's are made in Japan.
  21. Mag brake systems have been around longer than adjustable centrifigul systems.
  22. St. Croix Premier has several 6 foot rods with straight trigger handles.
  23. I don't know where these kind of ideas come from. If its the SAME gun, it is the same gun, Wal-Mart's is no different than the one at the local store. How they are handled in the warehouse or in the store by the minimum wage employees can make a difference in the appearance, when they they left the factory, they were the same.
  24. Because they aren't Shimano's and no body is wetting their pants because a new one is coming out.
  25. I found the web store last night that had the Curado E for the prices shown at the top of this thread. However, I went there this morning to compare some of their other Shimano prices to list price and the price for the 200E7 has now increased to $147.99. This E-Store is selling Stradic FI's for $30 -$40 under the list price. There is another post on TT that states that the MSRP for the Curado 200E7 is going to be $179. This seems reasonable considering the labor savings if production moves to Malaysia because it leaves room for some "improvements". The E-Store could discount $30 and be at their new price of $147.
