  1. thats what Ive been doing. Seems key time has been 630-8am. The only good fish afternoon have been in the salad.
  2. Im not sure. I think I made it just over 100". I havent really had much time to get into it very well this month. Pretty sure you got it again lol. Im getting into a bass club to do some tourney fishing too soon, so that might pressure more big fish up comming months >:-)
  3. Got this one as a biggest the other day, but haven't had much time to go, and out of town visiting family this weekend, so that's probably it for me this one.
  4. Nice! Im busy this weekend, but Ill give you a jingle the following weekend, maybe we can meet up over there
  5. Ive heard lake tarpon is probably the best bass lake in the area, but never been there myself.
  6. I havent been fishing in the other 2, but if I had to choose other than Florida where I am, now, it would be Texas or Cali. Ocean is near for salt variety if you live near the coast, and the weather in the South end of the states allows nearly year round fishing. All winter while I was out fishin in shorts, I read so much about lakes being frozen over and peoples poles collecting dust. Many times in south Fl you can fish bass, peacocks, snook, tarpon ect in the same water system.
  7. Went to my bank spots this am and had no luck. The place is already cramped with only a few places to hit by foot, but the water was up in the trees and I couldnt get a good cast out. Went to a corner with a little more room and hook about a 4lber, but it broke off at the shore under some floating salad. Other than that, just 2 dinks. Time to break out the boat!
  8. Sweet. Thanks for the report. I was up in the air about hitting lox this weekend... Think you just convinced me to go. Short haul from my place anyways. Prob wont hit okeechobee for a while though.
  9. Yea, i dont know why more retailers dont carry a larger stock of left hand reels. I made a thread on here asking how many right handed guys use left hand reels, and it seemed at least 50% or more used leftys. I started goin to bps to find ones I like, then find them on ebay and get em left hand for less lol. I like the abu garcia silver max. They have the flip switch on them too, easy to take apart, and can be found on ebay for $50 shipped. Pretty versitile for most common types of fishing. Once you get them down, the control over a spinner is much better.
  10. Once I got the baitcaster down, I couldnt use a spinner. Like you, i didnt like switching hands, all my reels are left handed, so I can use my right hand on the rod cast, retrieve, and hookset, n reel with my left like I was used to.
  11. How deep was the fish caught? ~4` Did the lure contain rattles or have hinges? no. Was the lure a natural color (brown, green) or was it an unnatural color (chartreuse, orange)? motor oil/chart If possible, what moon phase was your PB caught during? don't recall.
  12. this weather can suck a ........ poles are getting dusty!!!!!! don't look like its letting up for days either
  13. Yea margate has a nice canal system to fish for sure. Not many spots from the bank though.
  14. Nice! Might give ole lox a try this weekend
  15. There are a couple canals that end in small lakes right off the turnpike on either side of the 45th st overpass a little north of boynton on the nb side. The north one is filled with pads, and the south one is moderate and part is covered with the overpass to fish a shady area in the daytime. Ive stopped there a few times on the way to jobs up north and got a bunch of fish, but none more than a few pounds. Theres a break in the guard rail to back into from the em lane and park on the other side of the rail. The only downside is the water is very clear, so bites under your feet are hard to get.
  16. Yea i used to. It was a blue fiberglass nitro. Green and white interstate deep cycle. Im not allowed to mention anything because he filed a restraining order against me afraid I was going to kick his ass even though I filed first!
  17. Yea if you take the ramp at rock island go east then take that canal that goes way down north up past royal palm, it ends and goes east again behind firefighters memorial toward 441, i live off that one. Gotta pass under some tight bridges. used to live off the power line one that leads to it, and since my landlord ripped my boat off at that last place, I never leave it in the water. I just took it for a test run out there past the turnpike to the lock friday since I just got it back from the shop.
  18. I think the use of a spinner in windy conditions has more to do with visability going down, and action of baitfish kicking up. Blades have to do with speed, and water clarity. The shine and reflection you want, and the speed and vibration you want. Choppy water has poor visability, at the surface especialy. Noise too. A small crank or esp plastic will hardly be noticable. You want to emulate a small baitfish or school of baitfish and get those big blades to get attention. You have to try and use your best judgemement when the surface is disturbed enough.
  19. There was an angler on lake okeechobee that got struck in the head doing 55mph on his way in right near where I was. I seen the lightning hit and it was enough to scare us in. After I heard what it hit, Ill never stay in a storm. It was the only lightning we seen, there wasnt a warning. Ive had it hit within 50-500' from me so many times, and nightmares, Im petrafied of it. I even put up a picture on facebook not long ago re doing grounding on cage surrounding an fpl transformer to a transfer switch and on into their grid when a storm was rolling in and I was about to quit my job lol.
  20. when do you plan on coming down? maybe we can try to all link up and do a competition down here somewhere on Okeechobee, glades , or somewhwere
  21. depends. if it was for a short time, I shrug n leave. If I woke up at 4 am with 4 hours of sleep and drove triple digit miles to get an early start, spent triples digits in gas, and bake in the sun all day to get jack.. or even just a few, Im mad!! For sure!
  22. Ive used alot of kvds. Though Ive caught fish on them, I much prefer the spro little john... With the exception of it costing twice as much. I have a bunch of kvd lures, dont even use them anymore.
  23. Nice! Just ordered a bulk of football jigs and got some swim. Hope to have the same luck!
  24. Yea its nice. Its a pain in the @$$ though. Always getting hung up, break offs, stuck in trees, ect, but its got alot of big fish. In december i got my pb 11.1 lb in there. Around the same time (spawn) i hooked into a few might be double digits but broke one off and the other shook off on a jump. There are alot of spots like the one in the video where the edge just drops 8-15' covered by trees a little, and a bunch of fallen branches on the edge making it easier to get the summer bite. 2' out there where I was drops about 10-12'. Its a long wait for a weightless senko to drop unless the take it before hand lol. They still slow down though after 8 am.
  25. I haven't tried those, but would kind of like to now. I know Ive been killen em with the kvd perfect plastic stick worms lately, but they don't last much longer than gy senkos. I like the bps brand too when the colors right.
