  1. I like the watermelons in really clear water.. or watermelon red. Or slightly dirty water in bright sun, otherwise the pumpkins seem to do it better.
  2. they used to have a color called green pumpkin magic that was a killer for me that I cant quite match, and never see there anymore.
  3. Went fishing for about an hour after work again and seen the biggest school of big bass ive ever seen in person. Must have been like 12-15 together between 2-4lbs. I tossed a worm out before they came by schooled like 6 feet in front of me, so I reeled in real quick to see if I could get my worm near them in time and got a 19" of the rear of the pack to drop off and dive for it... and if that wasnt cool enough a snakehead about equal weight was following the school or hiding below and was about to tear up my bass as I was fighting it! Would have been mad if the s.h. got it, but was enough excitement for a fishernerd for the day!
  4. most of my biggest fish have been on bps and zoom 10" r.t.'s love em
  5. I think its easier to pick up fish in the local canals and lakes than the glades right now and esp chobee. My friends are tellin me the tourney guys are baggin low 20's to win. I havent gone up there in like 2 months+ since the levels have been up so high. I guess its down in the 15 range now but still a mess and early am bite for the most part.
  6. Thanks Lou. A little private lake I go to sometimes about 10 minutes from my house. Usually try to go in the am, but never get time before work with the now dark mornings. I had to wait on call on site today and had all my gear from the major 15min session I had in the morning so figured what the heck. Huge schooling bass all over in the shallows still at 5pm. I had a senko on and noticed the smaller bass right at the shore chased it on retrieve so I went to a weighted worm which was the only thing I had and hopped it along the bottom and got quite a few bites and even a few snakeheads up to about 6lbs. The bite dropped of though once the sun went behind the trees. Hooefully its a repeat tomorrow.
  7. Bad pictures today... was in a hurry on the big one because my truck was far away and I didn't have anything out so of course the camera got all retarded. 10" motoroil/chart ribbontailes t rigged 1/8oz. 19.5" and 22" The 22" wasn't long but it was a rugby ball with a fight!!
  8. Now I see why Martin never hit me up that weekend to take the boat out.... he catches fish with lmg lol. I can be bought out, how much you got?
  9. 21.5 is fine. I was fishing t rigged ribbontails and got a few nibbles and a small one then seen a few bail fish boils and it was kinda overcast and getting dark so I threw a pearl chart fluke on skippin it on the cast and burning it on the surface and got it on the 3rd cast
  10. Nice! Where did you find those?
  11. If I had only one go to line for everything overall as a whole including price it would be 12lb vanish flouro. Moderate viz, decent strength, great feedback, and decent price. I use braid and mono deoending on app.... but if I had one pick bang for buck....
  12. got a chance to rush out an hour before dark after work and hook this lil guy
  13. figures. I havent lived there since early 2010. Guess they put those up since then. I dont miss that place!
  14. Man we went out today to a new spot... no bass!! Went to another spot and a decaying decapitated gator was in the only path to get in, so went to another spot a found but it was gated off, now in miami got in a spot I found off tye turnpike, get in and discover not a single minnow!! So went to a quary lake now to late after 10am where I used to go riding some trails and managed to get 3 fish totaling 2 lbs lol. Very very bad day!!!
  15. on shore in pompano near my house. got there around 715 n left about 9. started slow with Okeechobee ocho`s, then noticed schools on the prowl and switched to a natural colored lil john. got a few strikes but most of the fish missed or didn't want it, so I put on a lil john spring craw and burned it and got a few more. If Id have had some of the right color frogs, I probably would have ripped some of them too. The fish are definatly schooling up and on the hunt now. Goin to try a new spot tomorrow down near dania... after the morning top water bite, Im going to burn everything. traps, spinners, jerks, and shallow bills and see if the numbers increase
  16. Went out this morning and got a few. @85.5" top 5 so far.....
  17. Forum blvd and champion ring rd area. Some nice spots back in there.
  18. The effff?! Glad I seen this before heading in there this weekend!
  19. thats why I dated all mine if I could
  20. Dang, this competition thread has gotten popular! 3 pages into the novel,I just skipped to the back lol. Whos leadin this thing? Looks like I might join in October n dust off the boats n poles. Seein some hints of pre spawn activity out back this weekend and the weather feels like its dropping off some
  21. Off 27 north or 75. at the opening on the west side of 27 from that airboat park. For some reason the current was flowing back toward the west into that opening, so we mashed all the calm areas right outside of the high flow. Prob got 25-30 dinks between the 2 of us from 7-930. Seen later someone launched their escalade down the ramp just south of that one too lol. Bank fishing is definatly better right now. Good choice.
  22. Im not in this month because I think Im done with freshwater till Nov-Dec, but figured Id share this little rugby ball I pulled out of the salad with a 1.5oz/rage craw/ 5/0 trokar flip hook in the glades this weekend. I didn't weigh it, but figure around 4.
  23. Hey! Just read it. Just came in to see whats going on. Been busy lately. Maybe if I get more than a grand total of 5 hours this month to fish, Ill play too.
  24. Nothing wrong with fishing other than bass, but it is a bass forum. Snook are great fish, and actually good to eat. Many places down here you can fish both in the same water and the same lures. Fishing the summer stinks, but I like the challenge. Just stinks because its fun to get out in bigger water, but I cant justify driving so far for a few hours. Not that Ive had enough time to hit any local water at a producing time of day lately. One hour so fsr this week lol
