  1. I might get hazed for it, but the abu black max and abu med vengeance 7` rod with 12lb flouro is my favorite all around versatile combo. I had 10lb but some of the snakeheads and rock bottoms/ledges where to munch for it, but I use it for weightless senkos and flukes up to 1/2oz spinners and t rigs. I got it for my work truck so Id have something decent but not worried about crying if something happened to it, and its great. Esp for the price!
  2. <------ Jealous!
  3. Don't really care... throw them back anyways. .
  4. coffee, water, and met-rx cookie dough meal replacement bars
  5. Ive let go of every bass Ive gotten, and I would too if I got a record unless I didn't have a way to record scaled weight, and all the measurements on video. I always have a phone or a go pro with a tape and scale on hand juuust in case. If not, Id bring it somewhere alive, hook a rope through its mouth or something, throw it in the water, and come back. Just a picture is nothing to go by, unless you only want to know it true for yourself. If none of that was possible, then RIP fish. If you don't have one or the other, ID call BS.
  6. A lot of the above, and Ive had luck with gold blade spinners, pearl senkos, and pearl/pumkin ribbontails, pearl/chart flukes. Lately Ive been using a lot of junebug, or junebug/red in murky water.
  7. d**n, makes me wish I woulda have went out. Yesterday was the only day last week I didn't fish anywhere lol. good stuff
  8. Thanks, Ill give that a try. I need to get another grill though first haha.
  9. where in Florida?
  10. The past few days Ive been hitting a lake where 50% of the fish are bass, the other 50 snakeheads. They are a pain and broke several lines and I wish I had a picture of the 5/0 gamakatsu hook one bent open and kinked. I had to switch from 12lb flouro and tungsten to 20+ braid and still broke a few fish off. Today at the end of the day I finally got fed up with them and dragged one to the truck on my way to leave, cut its head off and threw it in the truck. It wasn't to big, nor small... maybe 4-5lbs. Cut it up as soon at I got home, and my girlfriend fried it with breading. Not bad at all. I liked it, she thought it was ok, and I gave some to my daughter before telling her what it was and she liked it. Ive heard from so many people they heard they were good, but never knew anyone who actually tried it, so I did. Ill be keeping these evil a-hole demon fish from now on when I can.
  11. you guys might think Im nuts but other than some of the big ones like the A-rig above.... JIGS! Ive given them a try several times, several places, several conditions, several types, and trailers, and Ive never caught a fish on one, and they get stuck on everything around here. Ive used t rigged creatures, tubes, ect just fine,... jigs... nope.
  12. Sometimes I hold the line on the drop, like sometimes my bait will fall and land on top of grass or edge of a rock ect... I think its done falling then suddenly it drops again and it looks like a hit, when its not. When Im in areas like that with little or no weight I hold the line, but most of the time I just watch it. I don't have a large boat but I like being in the front. Im usually trolling toward the best spot and the rear goes over already fished water. When I underhand roll a cast, Ive broken several lips on crankbaits not paying attention looking at where Im casting and hit the motor. Most boats mount second fish finders at the front and not the rear.
  13. I like 1/8-1/4 oz tungsten t rigs. It sucks when they get broken off because of the price, but they seem to work better. If its really bad like I had the other day, weighted hooks helped. Flukes or as mentioned senkos would work well too. I just hate how long they take to drop in a lot of the ledge drops around here.
  14. underpaid industrial electrician and plumber.
  15. Lakes. Havent really fished rivers though yet... unless you count the everglades as one. I like finding small lakes most cant get to from shore with my little boat. The fish bite is more frequent and they seem to fight harder. I cant wait to get a fish/depth finder one day to hit the whole body high and low in em.
  16. I have 2 of those black max reels, and cheap as they are they work well. They are the only reel I have I can throw weightless against wind ect and not bird nest all the time.
  17. Every once in a while I see various fish in my canals here like goldfish, koi, ect. I think that was part of the reason peacock bass were introduced into a lot of the water here to cut down on invasive fish like that.
  18. I hate Miami!!!! There are some ok places there, but for the most part........ I cant use that kind of language here. If I were you, Id stay in S. Hollywood, Pembroke pines area near a highway to work.
  19. I have some black and black/red flake just for night fishing with some luck. Ive tried a couple times in super low viz water w very little luck. Havent bothered to try any other situation over 5"
  20. Thanks. Its an expensive hobby, which is how I ended up fishing in between. Figured it was a cheap way to entertain myself while broke haha. Could pay off a new tracker 165 in one year with how much I spend on a race season.
  21. I race sportbikes too lol. There are a pile of videos on my youtube acct also of that.
  22. Yep. Of course it couldnt have happened yesterday like the weather forecast predicted last week. Think I gotta leave the rod hung up for valintines day. Fishing rod anyway...
  23. caught this demon fish today in pompano at lunch time after a couple line breaks from others. It bit my leg, ripped my pants and broke skin when I tred to pick it up bare handed lol. thought Id share.
  24. Thats a much better angle up high where you have it. What size pvc did you use to eliminate the flop like 1-1/2"? Maybe something simular, except screwing a threaded flange to the floor, maybe 6` of 1-1/2 schedule 80, and a cap on top or something. My 10` john doesnt have room for a center console lol. Weston
