  1. theres a little lake on 152nd and speedway blvd (I think 137th) that has a nice ledge all the way around, and a couple more lakes by the racetrack on palm
  2. Man I had that happen to me twice one day. After the second time I was pretty mad for a few hours. Then again today, fish prob between 6-8 came out shook it off and gone trying not to break my line just like you.
  3. Think just to beat my PB in the 3 major fish I got for and do more brackish n salt for snook and tarpon... get a 12lb+ LM bass a 5lb+ peacock bass a 7lb+ snakehead
  4. was on Lake Osborne last Friday between lantana and lake worth rd and got a little peacock on a kvd 2.5 black back/chart squarebill. Was a pleasant suprize. That's pretty far North.
  5. nice! some of those little private lakes hold a lot of big fish that bite about anything
  6. Its hard to judge by a picture. Ive had some 5 lb fish that in pictures look like 3, and 6lb fish in pics that look like 8. I caught a 6lb a couple weekends ago that in person looked like 7-8 and in a picture looked like 4 to me, even knowing how big it really was.
  7. I was checkin out this site. Just missed the last meeting to try and get to the april 2 tourney. Ill be there in May though to check it out. Seems like a nice variety of places to go, and none to far away from here.
  8. I hold em with the hook on the scale and hope the fish breaks it.
  9. cool thanks. yea they all have inline fuse holders and fuses, and the trolling motor has a resetting breaker type protection. Imma change a few terminals tomorrow then plug her in!
  10. It has 2 chargers though. A mk-2dc and an mk210. I think the engine charges a battery which when running, closes a switch to charge the trolling batteries also off that battery. So all 3 charge when running. When the engines off, I think it opens, then it doesn't charge the tm batteries anymore, then the other is 120v plug in.. set of leads to the tm batteries only. This is how I did it, I think this is right?
  11. Im starting to find some unoccupied beds lately. I noticed in my canal other fish making similar beds too.
  12. I just purchased a new to me boat, and went to plug my battery charger in and noticed some stuff not connected. The seller put 2 new batteries in for the trolling motor I(24v), wired in series, but not connected to anything else. My primary battery has 800 wires on it. It has a minn kota mk 2 dc charger connected to the battery, and charger leads were just laying there. I take it this works off the alt/stator of the engine while running as a charger, and I connect to my trolling batteries? Also there is a minn kota mk 210 charger not hooked up to anything. Im assuming this is my 120v charger because of the cord, and I also has 2 sets battery leads which I guess go to the trolling batteries. Do all these wires go together (both chargers) to the trolling batteries and charge from either or all connected the same time? Also the trolling motor is wired to the single battery. Shouldn't this be on the end of series of the 2 trolling batteries, or are they already linked together? Id guess to the 2 batteries for 24v. the troller is a minn 65# 24v. It worked, but didn't seem to work correctly when I used it, and that may explain it. there is supposed to be a purple wire off the mk 2 to my charging system, how to I verify it is connected to the right one? I don't know anything about boat motors lol And last question, the 2 pairs of leads on each charger,... with the batteries in series, the leads just go to each battery anyways as if they weren't connected? or just use one set from each charger? I think I have it right, but want to verify with someone who knows better. I found a manual for the mk-2-dc, but it doesn't correspond with the 120v. Thanks in advance!
  13. yea I hear ya there. I try and avoid places where many people go.
  14. sweet! Ill have to check that out.
  15. That would be a new one down here
  16. I have one. I like it. I also thought about getting a bag like The Rooster said too, but I ended up getting this one better suited for what I use. Hopefully eventually I have both lol This is from when I first transferred boxes, Ive gotten rid of quite a bit of crap I don't use, but probably have 3 times the stuff in there that I had in the other box with room to spare.
  17. I live in Margate just East of Coral Springs. Snakeheads are fun to catch, but a pain in the ... Killed about a dozen of them this week. Don't find to many bodies of water this far North with peacock in em after the long "cold" winter a couple years ago that lasted longer n stayed cooler than usual. I get them in South Broward on spinners.
  18. I can relate to some of these other ones too. I went to this spot again today and had another break off lol. and 2 more in other spots in the same lake.
  19. I don't pay attention. I already made the mistake of finding out about moon phases. I like to go with the mindset that Im going to catch fish, not thinking well today will probably suck, and if I don't get anything in an hour leave. They most likely have an effect, but I caught more fish yesterday on one of the worst days and times according to the lunar calendar than I did peak day and time 2 weeks ago. So I don't pay attention to that stuff anymore, and wont check barometric pressures either lol.
  20. One of the jobsites I work on has a massive manmade rock ledge lake lined with a variable depth jagged coral drop off almost all the way around, murky, and almost no cover..... but it has a lot of big fish in it. Many times before, lunch, or after work, Ill throw a few cast along the ledges, get stuck, break lines, get stuck in fallen trees, ect ect, trying to find them. Many times I get one, and cant get it in. One spot on this lake has a tree which seems to be standing up in about 25-30` of water about 40` off the shore. It hold bass... usually 2+lbs. I hate this spot because I have to be so careful around it. I have to over cast it, bring the bait up to it, bang branches and feel for them and get over them so I don't drop to much between. Soooo many times Ive gotten stuck, and even worse lost fish or get break off on monsters pulling though it, or they run away and wrap me up. I like it though and hit that one tree every time knowing so because many times it pays off along with the gnarly line fraying rock ledges in front of it. I caught a few today after work there and nowhere else in the water but a couple 1.5s.. figured Id see if I could capture one on the camera to share and take a break from the spot for a second and got lucky. Yesterday I was dragging a work through bumped a branch got the line over another and the worm came out and I was trying to shake it off when a 3.5 jerk jumped out breaking the branch and unsnagged it for me lol. I call this tree "the claimer" I know you guys have little spots like this that stick out from everything else.. lets hear about em and see em!! took a minute to get the hook out. Had a double hole set with no pliers.
  21. Bps brand worms work well for the amount per pack, color availability, and price. I dont see much difference in durability between them and many others Ive used. Alot of name brand stuff that cost more doesnt even last as long. As mentioned, zoom makes alot of good baits for a reasonabke price. Those 2 are probably my most utilized out of anything I have. ALL of my biggest fish have been on baits from those 2 brands.
  22. In really clear water I use flouro, use bait colors that blend in with everything really well unless its getting burnt, and clothes that blend in with the landscaping. If theyre spawning, try a watermelon or pumpkin t rigged lizard across the nest. ticks em right off, even if they aren't hungry, they don't like predators in the bed.
  23. Idk.... almost a year ago. I fished some as a kid, but nothing like now.
  24. Have one of those too lol got it at bps for like $70 I think.
