    10lbs

10lb bass out of a 1 acre pond
  2. Agreed 100%, although my question isn't what bass do in cold waters or which places they are affected more than others. I'm asking why would increase in temperature (spring) not cause more action? Maybe just too early in spring for a big difference.
  3. Irrelevant, winter is winter, a dramatic decrease in temperature will make fish less active, so the increase of temperature and the climate change for spring should make the bass fishing more eventful now than in last winter. Just curious why it isn't.
  4. All winter I've been catching many massive bass and spring comes, bass aren't biting? Seems odd to me anyone have an idea what's up with my bass?

  6. Thanks I thought it was a bullhead of some sort, the tail is rounded, the image was minimized when it was uploaded. Thanks for lettin me know
  7. If you want monster bass you should give a baitcaster a chance, I use medium action custom rod with my Daiwa AIRD, a baitcaster can hold a lot heavier line without despoiling like a spinning reel does, I have 17lb big game fluoro on mine, never snaps on me! And it's easier to afjust the drag on a baitcaster as well
  8. 8+ lb bass is a large bass still. I count them as nice fish, anyone should. My largest is 14lb but have caught countless bass over 10lbs which are picture worthy to me!
  9. The thing about bass shaking heads out of water isn't a worry of snapping the line but shaking the hook, good post though!
  10. Just work with the bass, let him get tired and just bring him on home! Take nice pics and put him back. If you hoarse the bass, you'll wind up ripping his check or lip creating a big hole, therefore when he jumps to shake the hook, you better believe that hooks comin out! Gluck and keep your lines tight!
  11. Baitcaster a are built for easier drag adjustment, that's one perk to learning how to use one
  12. Can anyone tell me what kind of catfish this is? They've been eating my plastic worms and becoming a pain, and do they have stingers like channel cats? They're pectorals seem barbed but I'm not sure. I'd like to fish for a 20lb one off the bottom, only if they're worth the catch
  13. i hear where your coming from, but its a fairly even contribution to both good baits and good location, if your fishing with something that doesnt catch too many fish, you very well may be passing that "location" with the fish, and not get a strike.
  14. wonderful post! and next time you get a chance pick up a pack of the magnum green pumpkins, i cant stop using them, i have 24 bags of 8 at the moment lol , in all conditions i can catch fish on em , murky or clear water, cloudy or sunny skies
  15. no weight with that set up and let it fall real slow with slack, bet the fish would be fightin to be caught ! lol
  16. ah , thats neat haha. i like it
  17. awesome, forgot about my war eagles, ill take those along with me! thanks alot
  18. well im planning on fishing just like i do every day in my pond, just a bit worried the boater may accelerate too often , or too fast for me to get my plastic to even hit the bottom properly, but i guess i wont know til i get out there!
  19. Using a spinnerbaits or crank bait is a great way to cover area to find the bass, or be aware of top water hits by the shoreline, drop a t rig right on top and hold on!
  20. I have a local bass tournament this Sunday, and it's my first competitive bass fishing I've done yet, and I'm going to be co angling, but not as partners with the boat owner, ever man for himself kind of deal, and I know that if I were controlling boat movement , I'd probably come in first, but with my techniques, it calls for a lot of sittin still , but what if the boat owner drifts with a crank bait while I'm fishin Texas rig? Just curious how a co angler pulls it off sometimes? Any tips to help me this weekend?
  21. Same reason why Solunar is used for hunting as well
  22. Well he didn't know the word "Solunar" and I didn't even know it was 3 over from forums lol
  23. nice addition with chartreus dip, i use a size 2/0 or 3/0 Gamakatsu worm hook, red offset seems to not work so well when its weightless, but i prefer them when weighted. may just be coincidence though.
  24. B.A.S.S. associations often have local clubs with Jr.BassAssassins group. but i also am trying hard to be a co-angler at 17 years old, i want to start off and wow the local competition and hopefully the world one day! but, i cant seem to come in contact with any bass clubs near fort myers florida. any sites to post up to be a co-angler?
