  1. I do something very similar except with an open hook jighead. Do-it has a mold called the tube and tail. It's made to specifically rig a worm or whatever on the shank of the hook before stuffing the jighead in the tube. I use tubes ALOT! It's my primary bait. I t-rig them, open hook jighead, and my favorite in certain conditions is to rig them stupid tube style on an EWG hooked jighead. I've often thought of rigging them with internal weights and weedless but have never done it. I may just have to try it this year Clint
  2. I've used ALOT of different lines over the years. For many years my main line was Berkley Big Game in 10, 12, and 15 pound tests. Based on this forum and several others I gave YoZuri Hybrid a shot. I really like it! I use it in 10 and 12 for moving baits on baitcasters and 6 on my spinning setups. It works GREAT on spinning outfit. I use Sunline fluoro for contact baits. YZH has been really good to me. I tried the YZH Ultra soft and did not care for it very much!
  3. If weightless or wacky rigged I use the Yamamoto Senkos 100% of the time. To me they just have the right fall rate. 5 inch being the size I use the most. If I am fishing them with weight, whether texas rigged or on an open jighead I use a knockoff brand. Gander Mountain has a pretty nice one in a 5 inch that I've caught a ton of bass on in a 5 inch green pumpkin on an 1/8 or 1/4 ounce open jighead. It has become one of my top producing techniques.
  4. I usually have a pocket knife on me that makes a quick clean cut. A disposable lighter is great to put a "ball" on the end of the tag so it can't pull through the knot. Another tip with scissors is to use the scissor blade more like a knife than a conventional open an close. Just slide the braid down the scissor blade and it will cut it clean. I've found when trying to cut with most any scissors it gives a "fuzzy" end that needs the lighter to clean it up Clint
  5. I used to be totally Curado guy and just adjusted spool tension a bit. I switched over to Lews last year and I set the magnets at hallway and loosen the spool tension so it is very loose. If I want to make a cast its a quick little adjustment on the spool tension knob.
  6. Thanks for the welcome! Ironically I looked at my profile and I registered one year ago to the day on Jan 2, 2013. What is the chances I put up my first post exactly a year later? I'm pretty active on a couple other forums but mostly just lurk and read posts here.
