  1. well the buzzbait is what pulled me into fishing one day at a buddy's pond, it was all over after that. so for a play on words, buzzed bait.
  2. i had to send a reel to mike that i had all humpty dumpty and couldn't put back together again!! i sent mike a reel that was like 75% assembled and a bag of parts and he returns a fully functioning reel!
  3. just getting into painting some baits and have a newfound respect for the kind of work some guys are producing, yours included. that bait in the first picture is nothing short of awesome!!
  4. the spotted bass around here eat them up. the last tournament i fished in, my boater got 3rd place and big fish all off the shaky head. he had 0 fish around 12 or so and managed to put 5 good keeper spots together all on a shaky head. and he was working them SLOWWWWWWWW and steady. it made me realize i might be overworking mine a little bit myself!
  5. I have no idea yet, haven't had a chance to throw it!
  6. if you over torque the wire when wire tying it may sever a few strands and/or make the skirt poof out more than you'd like, but that's about it. if you do that, just don't tighten it so much and you're good to go.
  7. good info above from rippin.... one other thing to do is take VERY CLEAR pictures of the reel as you start to take it apart. this will greatly aid you in putting it back together if you get to a point where you're stuck!
  8. awesome, thanks Allen!!
  9. no i received it in some other baits i purchased, the guy i got it from didn't know what it was either
  10. Can you guys help me ID this spinnerbait? It has a triple cavity metal type rattle body and a really funky top blade! thanks!!
  11. yamamoto pro senko is a good one for me
  12. i was lucky enough to score a bunch of Rubbermaid materials from my previous job. i took advantage of that with the garage fasttrack stuff they have as well as the fasttrack closet materials and then got the heavy duty shelving. they work well for keeping all the work samples that my wife has to keep on hand neatly organized.
  13. electric contact cleaner spray works very well
  14. pretty good, i know the 2016 version can be found for about $350 shipped
  15. also, are you using wire or thread to tie these? i use wire on mine and have no issues with the skirts coming off.
  16. you have to twist them as mentioned, but i also agree with trying to go with the kayak upside down if possible.
  17. i don't have KVD either. if we did have the same team, at least you wouldn't crush me like you did on the last one!!! i still plan on winning our little side bet though, no doubt about it!
  18. saw you guys had a good bit of coverage on the photos from the event after day 2. that's a great finish man, sounds like a killer week!
  19. no joke! i took a few more "favorites" in this upcoming event than i normally would.
  20. I recently had 2 Megabass Vision 110's break the bill off on the first outing. on one, i catch a fish first catch, catch one second cast, third cast feels really weird and when i get the bait back the bill is completely sheered off right at the bait???? second bait i cast for a while, end up catching a fish on it. fish it for a while later and on one retrieve it comes back weird again and the lip is broken almost in half, vertically! i contact megabass on their website and 1 hour later someone emails me and says they don't really have a warranty, but they review all the baits on a case by case basis. i sent both of them in and about a week later received a notice that the replacements had shipped. They arrived with a hand written note which i thought was pretty cool considering that people rarely hand-write anything at all. just thought i'd share another great customer service experience. now if i could only figure out how to get megabass USA to replace my broken JDM destroyer!!!!!
  21. found a couple little spotted bass that were willing to bite on saturday night. black buzzbait and a berkley 10" black grape power worm were the baits. had a few more blowups on the buzzbait, but only managed to hook and land the one. here's one of them, picture of the other one didn't turn out very well in the dark!
  22. a few things i picked up when i was in the TW retail shop in Cali, the keitech custom leach really intrigued me for some clear water drop shot days. then some specialty tackle z-75's for deeper cranking and another s waver.
  23. If you're adding a plastic trailer to those smaller baits it would still do just fine. If no trailer, it may just depend on reel and line being used but it'll cast a true 1/4oz for sure.
  24. you should buy this rod off of me: https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/191944-major-craft-go-emotion-bfs-casting-rod-for-sale/ but seriously, the loomis 852 is not a BFS rod. I have an 852NRX and it's a medium light rod, but not a light by any means. You'd struggle to cast anything lighter than 1/8 on it. i had a phenix recon 2 either a 682 or 683, can't remember. It was decent, but had nowhere near enough backbone to fish a lot of lures i intended to fish on it.
