  1. i had a couple lew's spinning reels and was less than impressed. i have 4 of their casting reels, so i'm no hater in that regard. just think that for the $ you can get a much better reel than the lew's spinning. i have no experience with that Abu so can't offer much there.
  2. daiwa tatula 6'10" MHF. can be found on sale for about $110 right now. i've tried many rods that were well over that price range and none of them suited me better than the tatula.
  3. nicely done! sometimes they want the frog, sometimes they don't.... just got to keep on trying!
  4. sounds like a wonderful day off work man!
  5. that looks really nice man! congrats!
  6. were it my money, i'd spend it on the fury for sure. med hvy is perfect for chatterbaits/spinnerbaits
  7. yep that would work. i think mostly all treble hook baits can be fished on the same rod. you'll be fine.
  8. that all looks good to me man, nice lineup. as for the deep diving cranks question, i'd probably throw them on the 7'0" Berkley Lightning Rod Shock Medium Heavy Moderate fast if it were me.
  9. yeah i'd return that and get the money back!
  10. unreal day 1! looked like all anglers but 1 came in with a 5 fish limit!
  11. i rarely if ever tie on a leader. if i do, it's usually when in the river and i want to break the line off if need be. i use 15lb on spinning gear and anywhere from 15-40lb on casting gear. mostly all power pro and i've found the best price is usually when they have it on sale at Dick's sporting goods.
  12. get up with @cadman (Ted) he will do about anything and everything you want. great guy to buy from!
  13. i like them! they're nice durable well made frogs. spro and booyah pad crashers are the only ones i fish.
  14. they are fish catchers for sure. was using the baby d bomb as a jig trailer last time i was out and the fish liked it!
  15. nice looking fish there man!!! congrats on the PB!
  16. color is not my most important factor, not by a long shot actually.
  17. nice catch man, sounds like fun!
  18. i always tie direct, but even if i used the snaps, i wouldn't use them on topwater as they're sure to change the action of the bait.
  19. i like the roboworms too. but i also like using a damiki air craw sometimes. the claws are bouyant and look like one mean crawdad in the water!
  20. sorry to hear that, but what a great outlook you've got. great dad for getting you outdoors and providing you with a passion like fishing!
  21. my old man gets a kick out of my "fancy stuff" while he still crushes it on his daiwa goldcast and no name pistol grip rod!
  22. x2 .... both of them are excellent sources!
  23. i don't know much about the fishing there, but i wouldn't worry about snakes on the water. if you're fishing on the bank, just keep your eyes peeled.
  24. Poor picture quality, but I received my 2nd NRX yesterday! 852C for T Rigs and Small jigs. Going to pair it up with one of the Lew's Pro Z's i have. Going to try and get everything together for a family photo and post in the show your stuff thread here soon.
  25. terminator makes some that don't have a band, they have a rubber collar so to speak that slides on easily. rather than wire tying, you could get some very small zip ties and tie them on while on the water and it would be very quick in comparison.
