  1. 10 or 12 lb for sure and it should handle a good bit better than the 15 lb as well
  2. regular power pro or suffix 832 is really all i use and have no issues with either.
  3. i have a problem..... the first step is admitting it right? snagged a barely used 3:16 baby wake in ayu, pretty stoked to try this one out!
  4. Long awaited, can't wait to hit this one honey hole where the bluegill are big and abundant and the bass feed on them heavily!
  5. That's essentially what I've done the last 6 months! I cant stand to look at it anymore!
  6. Meant to upload these photos with the post earlier... it's not really in the middle so I'm not sure if it would make a good 2 piece....
  7. It's been about 6 months since i broke it and might finally be over it enough to post about it! Like a moron, i broke my JDM destroyer bandersnatch casting rod.... what a phenomenal spinnerbait rod too! So here's the deal, i paid a little over $300 for it from japan, got it on sale. I had hardly even used the rod, hadn't had it long enough to really use it much. I had it on the front of the kayak and wasn't paying attention and the wind blew me into a log and SNAP the rod was in 2 pieces! since it's a JDM rod, megabass USA has nothing to do with it... i have the warranty card and megabass japan would replace it under warranty, no questions asked. Problem is, i have to pay the replacement fee on the warranty card which is about $200. I also have to pay shipping BOTH WAYS which is not cheap to japan! On top of all that, the replacement rod i would receive would no longer be under any warranty. So all that said, sounds like a terrible option! I could get a new one for about the same cost and less hassle, not to mention it would be under warranty! so now my question is what to do with this rod? There's too much broken off to try and just put a new tip on and fish it as a heavier rod..... can i sell it to someone to use the parts off of it for a custom build? could i sell it to someone to make some sort of a splice/repair? i've since replaced my spinnerbait rod so i really don't have a good need for this thing, but it pains me to look at it broken on my rod rack and there's just no way i can bring myself to scrapping it! appreciate any suggestions!
  8. was able to snag a deal on some out of package, but new little creeper trash fish. 25 in total!
  9. Did you look at my lineup????? It's the worst!!!
  10. i have a strong feeling you're winning our side bet after my day 1 performance.....
  11. i have that rod with a pflueger supreme xt on it and i use 15lb braid on mine and then add a fluoro leader if i want one.
  12. i almost prefer they don't come with a keeper and then can add a fuji keeper onto them. i have a couple of rods that i just despise the location of the hook keeper and would have preferred none at all.
  13. asheville is a nice place, i grew up in western nc and then lived in charlotte for about 10 years. i wouldn't put much into lake norman, too far to drive from asheville for the rather lousy fishing it has to offer. lake james isn't too far away and is a very nice scenic lake, it's very clear and was tough fishing when i went, but may be something you're used to coming from WA. a little west of asheville you'll find some incredible mountain lakes like junaluska, bear lake, wolf lake, and glenville is a phenomenal lake that has a healthy population of largemouth and smallmouth.
  14. had quite a few things come in from various orders and i hit the new field and stream store nearby with a $20 off $100 coupon and a $50 gift card! was very impressed with the field and stream offerings vs the previous offerings when it was only a dick's sporting goods store! jointed claw 178 irod gen 2 "jr swim" swimbait rod another site and TackleWarehouse orders: Field and Stream score:
  15. I can finally put this broken jdm destroyer "bandersnatch" to good use!!! Will go great with a Zebco!!!

  21. Hey guys, i'm heading to OKC and Tulsa next month 9/12-9/15. I'll have some downtime in the evenings and possibly a whole morning to fish while i'm there. Probably bring my travel casting and travel spinning rod and keep it pretty minimal. I'll have a rental car as well so i can get around wherever i need to. I haven't booked my rooms yet, wanted to get some opinions on decent spots i might be able to catch some fish from the bank and then plan the hotels around the area. Not looking for any honey holes or private jewels, just asking if there's any good parks or ponds or somewhere around that i should target while i'm there? If i can swing the time and expense i'm even considering a guided trip on tenkiller or grand lake, but that may be a little bit of a stretch! If you happen to know a good guide with reasonable rates, feel free to throw them out here and i'll at least take a look! Appreciate any help you guys can offer.
  22. not exactly tackle, but a bait monkey purchase nonetheless....

  24. awesome fish!
  25. good luck man, hope you keep it rolling!
