  1. not exactly sure, not asking about value necessarily, but more so just any experience with this boat or similar model. i'm boat illiterate so it all looks good to me!
  2. a couple of those rods look familiar to you two???? got that dx703 off of you john and the fury and dx704 came from adam!
  3. The old man is looking to buy a boat and has been looking for a while. This boat he's on now fits his needs and wants almost perfectly. Any input from anybody here on pros/cons/etc on this particular boat? "Xpress X70 with 150 Yamaha ox66Everything on boat works as should except speedo and temp on dash. Motor was serviced in spring of 15. Lower unit fluid change and water impeller changed this yr with less than 2 hours since. Bearing buddies and 2/3 tires replaced this yr with less than 50 miles. Three new Interstate group 27 batteries spring of 15 with MINIMAL use. Has nav lights, hot foot, recessed TM tray, pedestal and seat for front deck, live well with divider and two lids, 3 bank charger, 6" jack plate, 25p SS prop, 67 lb 24V MotorGuide and fire extinguisher. Bunk carpet will need replaced. No electronics will be included"
  4. well i finally lined them up and snapped a group photo! also included my little grid of what's matched with what.... it's in order Top to bottom on the list goes left to right on the pic.
  5. that's really awesome man! glad you were reunited!
  6. i like to do the heat shrink because it seems to hook more bass by running the hooks perpendicular to the bait. Durability vs an o ring, i don't know, but it definitely takes some use and abuse before you have to switch up the baits. the tubing does slide up the hook onto the line once you hook one.

  9. that line will be fine for backing and i almost always tie direct so no worries there either.
  10. well done man, you're absolutely right! although, i like to dropshot with money... I usually start with $1 bills and if the bite is tough, just keep stepping up the denominations until they start biting!!!
  11. that first picture sucked... at least you went on to catch some fish though!
  12. nice smallies there man! interesting idea on the walking bait. i too would be surprised that it wouldn't impact the walking action, but not one bit surprised that it would catch some fish!
  13. that's incredible man!! way to go!!
  14. Thanks guys! I did not cash it, just couldn't pick up any cards... However my buddy got 11th out of over 500 people so that was cool to watch! I did however find a little luck on the floor and managed to recoup my buy in from the tournament. I hit the cashier and called hit a good day! Thanks for the happy birthday wishes as well.
  15. something like the owner twistlock hooks would help you out. they'll keep the "nose" of the frog in place and no sliding down the hook.
  16. rage craw, baby rage craw, rage menace, missile baby d bomb and my favorite is damiki air craw
  17. I'm going to Cherokee, NC to play in a World Series of Poker Circuit Event tonight and hoping to play well and get a little lucky too! It's also my b day today so i'm hoping to cash in some birthday luck!
  18. it's not a worm, but it's mean on a shakeyhead and that's the damiki air craw
  19. man that sucks! hope they see your note and give you a call.
  20. my honest opinion is the berkley lightning shock rod and the pflueger president are as good as you're going to do in that price range, no doubt about it. that rod and reel will last you a LONG TIME and catch any bass that's swimming in your waters!
  21. megabass giant dog x is a fantastic walking bait. VERY easy to get it to walk. haven't caught one on the pompadour yet, but it has some wild action for sure!
  22. Thanks to everybody for all the replies to my kayak cart thread. It set me on the right path and i was able to throw together something that worked on my initial tests! i added in 2 eye bolts on the sides so that i can easily take a bungee cord right across the top of the kayak and it was holding it much better than i even imagined!
  23. i don't really have one, but it'd be my lightning shock and pflueger trion that i use on the river. if you wanted to get something you'd like to use as well, i'd look really hard at the daiwa tatula (the original, not the XT) on sale for like $110 at a lot of places right now. since it's a loaner and there's a good chance a casting reel may not be the best for a newer fisherman, i'd probably make it a spinning combo. add a pflueger supreme on to the tatula and you've got a great combo that i'd fish myself and have no issues loaning out.
  24. my boss just did nearly this exact same trip in his RV and he's from Tampa! He had a blast out there and i've no doubt you will too. i've been to most of those places you've listed and all over Montana. I have to say though, Pike's Peak may be my favorite on the list. I stayed there for about 3 weeks working in a hotel. every morning that i walked out of the lobby i got to look dead ahead at the mountain and man what a great view it was! ENJOY!!
