  1. just a solid steady retrieve or kind of yo-yo them is how i've fished them. but i admit i've never caught much on them.
  2. small poppers, like the megabass pop x (1/4 oz) i was crushing the river bass last month on finesse spinnerbaits (1/8 or 1/4 oz) and also on the beetle spin with a grub bait. was throwing that on a curado 51e i have set up for light stuff and using a phenix recon 2 683c.
  3. war eagle for quality and price
  4. i'd "suck it up" and shimmy up that tree!!
  5. i have a "behind the seat" kit in my truck. one is a 5'6"ML ugly stick the other is a 6'6"M berkley lightning shock (both rods are 2 piece) and both have a pflueger trion spinning reel. tackle box is simple. weights, hooks, finesse worms, senkos, finesse cranks, small poppers.
  6. missile baits d bomb lucky craft flat cranks (on sale for $4.99) spro rockcrawler cranks booyah or spro popping frog senko, senko, senko
  7. the green ones are totally harmless... black, brown, gray, red .... beware!!
  8. not the most productive for me, but easily my favorite thing to catch them on is a hollow belly frog!
  9. that rod is by far the most versatile rod i own, absolutely gets my vote for best all around rod, no doubt about it!
  10. exactly this. i fish from a kayak so it's not like i can just pick up and make a run to the next spot all that easily.... i'll give the people a "pass" that look like they just don't know better, but most of them know exactly what they're doing....
  11. hope he doesn't get a plea deal and has to actually suffer a bit for his actions...
  12. 100% agree with A Jay on the life jacket! not sure where you're at exactly, but i've launched around the kellogg creek ramp over there and fished that area a little bit, not a ton though. i did really well with the shakyhead/trick worm combo and a drop shot. a great place to go is lake acworth which spills over into allatoona. it's electric motors only so no big fast boats or pleasure boaters. and there's some really nice fish in there as well! just google cauble park, they have a nice ramp to launch from.
  13. muddy water i like chartreuse/black back slight stain on the water i like something like the ms american shad color from lucky craft clear water i like something that's mostly white or white/gray
  14. i have canceled before due to wind, but i fish from a kayak so it can be a little different. but i'm talking like 15+ MPH before i'm even considering canceling. i know, i know the midwest guys are about to come in and say 15-20 MPH winds is considered a good day....
  15. not enough if you ask me! NC, SC, GA, AL, FL
  16. this past season when i broke out the snowboard i thought it would be just like previous seasons.... a little tight to start out and loosen up as you go.... well i never loosened up and if anything only got tighter and more fatigued! i've got to work on some endurance and strength training before this coming season. only 4 months away from a week in lake tahoe!
  17. awesome catch there man. that thing does have a giant head on it!
  18. dude that's a midnight toad right there!!
  19. Nope not a PB, not even a catch on my part.... Rather a day of fishing with my nephews and my brother. We wore them out too! Mostly all sunfish, but we tangled with a bass or two as well. The joy and excitement from my older nephew beats out every fish i've ever caught, hands down, no comparison. I cannot wait to get them back out there again!
  20. my buddy fishes a texas rigged ribbontail worm almost year round and 98% of the time he has one of those 3 colors tied on.... he swears by the tequila sunrise, but he also fishes the red shad A LOT.
  21. siebert has great options, great prices, great service. if you want some really specific custom stuff, site member cadman can and will make just about anything you can think of and he's also a great guy to deal with.
  22. i'll be over there in 2 weeks.... sounds like i need to bring a travel rod!
  23. 30 or 40 yds of mono backing, will help save some money rather than full spooling with the more expensive braid.
  24. not a famous one by any means, has no name.... but it's the one i may have fished the most aside from lake norman in nc. small body of water, OLD OLD OLD one too. no idea when it was created, but my granddad talked about fishing it as a teenager in the 40's and driving cars out on it at night during winter to party. has a ton of old trees, old stumps, humps and a waterfall. it's as picturesque as they come. laydowns galore, it's a bass fishing paradise, but not very well known. it's where i've caught my 2 biggest bass from. it's got so much wood underneath the water that a lot of baits will frustrate you to try and fish. i like to fish topwater, spinnerbaits, worms and jigs for the most part. it also holds a really healthy population of bluegill, some are monster gills.
