  1. acey deucy is one fun, cruel game!
  2. hold 'em first and foremost, but i like to play a little omaha from time to time too. always played gin rummy as a kid with my mom.
  3. i don't get many myself, but when i do, it's usually from trying to literally whip the rod. just a good smooth consistent cast is what you want, all part of getting it all dialed in...
  4. Thinking about snagging a tatula spinning rod since i like my 6'10" MHF casting rod so much, and i'm talking about the original tatula, not the XT. looking for something to toss the lighter baits, but don't want to spend a fortune on anything since it will likely be used less than most of my other rods. i'm looking to toss shaky heads, drop shot (rarely), ned rig, maybe weightless finesse worms wacky rigged. right now i'm looking at maybe the 6'11" ML/XF or the 7'1" MF. want it to be good for those baits mentioned, but i don't want something too whippy like a wet noodle either! i'll be pairing it up with a daiwa procyon 2000 spinning reel. i'm not dead set on the tatula either right now, but i know i like my casting rod so i'm thinking it would fit the bill. both would probably end up running me right at $110 so that works for me. anyone with any experience to share about the tatula spinning rods would be much appreciated!
  5. Mike Bucca is the self proclaimed king, but there used to be a guy on here named Randall Kirkpatrick that's the real king of swimbaits in GA. Randall fished a lot of the reservoirs around north and middle GA and caught some monster trophy bass. He's the real deal Hawg Whisperer! OP let us know where exactly in GA you are and that might help dial you in a bit. The lakes are quite a bit different from one end of the state to the other so you may get some varying information.
  6. that right there is what made me reconsider the spinnerbait's effectiveness. i started doing that and started catching fish like never before on the spinnerbait! i shared that same tip with a good buddy of mine and got an awesome "you're the man" text from him after he caught fire and caught 11 spotted bass in a 30 min span one afternoon popping the spinnerbait!
  7. the chartreuse is a great one for me on the chatahoochee river.... haven't unlocked the mystery as to why myself as it doesn't mimic any of the bait that i've seen....
  8. sounds like a gem mine!!
  9. i had the opportunity to meet him a few years back, i believe it was 2010, and he was a genuinely nice guy. his commercial spot for ESPN sportcenter with the guys in the cafeteria is my favorite one of those bits, hands down!
  10. hahaha that's how i roll!
  11. i agree that DJ blew it. Shot the highest recorded round of the field on Sunday, you can't do that against the best of the best! Even Kevin Na beat that and the dude sprinted around the course playing 18 holes in under 2 hours!! i really like Jason Day and hope to see him back on top soon enough. The guy is a phenomenal golfer and seems like a very nice guy. I've got to figure out who my man of the future is because I've always been an Ernie Els fan and will be for a long time, but he's not competitive in this league anymore with all the talent that's out there now!
  12. wow, never knew there was such a thing! i'll have to order some of those, i love that owner deep throat hook!
  13. it was awesome to watch it all unfold! my wife and i were right on the side of the green on the last playoff hole and got to witness that drama firsthand. it was as rowdy as any golf i've ever seen too, the place went nuts over both of those final 2 putts from Ryan Moore and Rory. stole maybe, earned definitely!!!
  14. well as embarrassing as it is, i have a fish grip that's attached to my handle on the left side of me. i actually hooked that one on and then got my board and scale ready. problem was i didn't keep a hand on the fish when i reached for my scale after getting the measurement and *poof* .... she gone.... i'd have estimated the fish around 5 pounds though. you can see in that photo it had a chunky belly! also funny that the pic my buddy took makes me realize how low my rear is sitting in the water! i may have to really look into the wheelchair battery that @Darren. suggested to reduce the weight when i use the motor!
  15. I was lucky enough to go to the Tour Championship final round yesterday at East Lake. My wife and I went and met up with a couple of friends that were out there as well. It was a great day for golf and couldn't have asked for a better round! We were able to watch all the drama unfold and to see Rory take it all in a 4 hole playoff! It was cool to see all the big dogs too: DJ, Rory, Bubba, Spieth, Dufner, Kuchar and Reed. It was my first time catching the final tournament of the season, but i believe i'll make this a regular thing. My wife even had a great time and she couldn't care less about golf!
  16. I hadn't been fishing in well over a month and it was killing me. Was able to get out on Saturday morning to a small electric only reservoir that gets hit pretty hard. We headed across the lake to a point that has a nice ditch and usually holds some good bait. I started out with a buzzbait, but nothing going there. Started tossing a spinnerbait to the weedline and bringing it back when i had a vicious hit right at the grass. a solid fight ensued and i knew i had a nice one on. brought it up to the kayak and had a 19-3/4" spotted bass that weighed out at 3.85lbs. However, i was a little too excited and tossed him back before snapping a photo!! fished for a while longer with no bites and working our way around the point we got to the backside where it was still in the shade and i tossed a "finesse frog" as @Master Bait'r would call it.... about 12 feet or more out from the grass i had one smash it and i set the hook and it hardly even moved! i knew this was another toad. got it in the kayak and it measured out at 20" on the dot. as i reached for my scale to get a weight on it this gold medal gymnast of a fish took one nice jump over the side of my hawg trough and a backdive right into the lake!!! at least on that one i did get a couple pics! went on to catch one more skinny guy on a senko on my new (new to me) gen 1 cumara 6'8" M rod and then had one get off on the jig about halfway back to the kayak..... my buddy caught 2 himself 1 on the spinnerbait and 1 on a 10' worm. great morning back out on the water!!
  17. that's awesome man! good on you for sending him a TW care package too!
  18. well hopefully you can scout out some good spots close by! it's tough to find many good bank spots around me that aren't private. hopefully you can find a couple around your area there that are holding some fish!
  19. i'm laughing over here because you just described the Lucky Tackle Box videos 100%
  20. pretty sure i only own white-ish or black-ish topwaters for all my poppers, walkers, buzzbaits or frogs
  21. oh yeah, they'll take you for all you've got.....
  22. what color senko?
  23. i hate it.... it's easier to make a sequel or reboot i guess, but they're garbage more or less.
  24. i'd go with the 30 myself as i think it's perfect for 10-15lb braid. i have 35 size pflueger patriarch and trions and i believe a 25 size trion which is a little small, but it's on my ultralight setup.
