  1. Yes, but not by doing that….. sounds like a dangerous move if kids ever start to swim around that dock.
  2. Hey, I grew up about 15 minutes away in NC. I went to school right across the road from the Dillard house... What species are you looking to target? There's plenty of mountain trout fishing to be done. As far as any lake fishing there is some to be done although it will require a short drive and bank access may be limited.
  3. Had some, lost a pair and broke 1.... miss them dearly! i had a darker lens for full sun and amber lens for overcast/golf. i'm in the market again and considering costa, but if not it will be some maui jim's
  4. Japan is my dream destination for vacation..... WHEN i make it, I will certainly be wetting a line! Good luck while there!
  5. Well done man!
  6. only caught one…. ever….. but it was on a 5' ultralite rod with 4 pound test, perhaps the fish fight of the century…. felt like hemingway's old man and the sea!!
  7. whoa! nice fish!
  8. i've heard of this one some lew's reels in other threads. i only have one speed spool, fairly new so no damage yet. although they are pretty soft/tacky feeling and do feel like they could peel or crack
  9. I’m going to Charleston this coming weekend for a mini vacation. I would love to get fishing in while there. Anyone have any info on some spots I could slide my kayak in or even hit the bank to try and get on a couple bass? Any tips/info would be greatly appreciated!
  10. Back in NC it would have been Lake Norman, party boat central..... in GA i've found way too many electric only or HP restricted lakes to get onto the big ones.....
  11. same here Hootie, starting to wonder if it's me or the conditions....... just hoping it's conditions
  12. bug eyed beauty in that first pic!!!!
  13. welcome man! i live over in sandy springs.... not far away, but never fished altoona. tons of good people and good info here....
  14. nice fish and better photo!
  15. "that's a pretty good fish" ……. is what i usually say when i'm pulling up a 2.5#er …… NOT a 12+!!!!!
  16. congrats!
  17. fishing there in a kayak is downright dangerous…. had to go all the way north to the state park to feel like i had a fighting chance of not being run over….. i used to live about 1/4 mile from blythe landing and that area is crowded all the time
  18. pretty close minded and foolish approach to say that ONE generation is somehow a universe removed from another..... Perhaps you should review the constitution that is now 230+ years strong. it clearly outlines the need for self governance and stresses the importance of a balance of power..... and to say it is selfish to be concerned with my rights or my privacy, well then i'd be fairly proud to be selfish sir...... read below, just look at it through a different lens for a minute to understand that what impacts 1 impacts all..... 'the rights of everyman are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened" - JFK
  19. from what you listed, i'd go with a kayak. check craigslist, can often find some deals on there. Also, from my own experience i would suggest a sit on top kayak vs the sit in version you posted. i have a sit in right now and looking to get me a new sit on top soon.
  20. more important i think the time spent on the ground (out of the water) vs. being on the ground itself
  21. i have an fs10 with the same removable seat, it's great! that's my problem is i don't want a tank per say, i'd still like to cover some water during the day.
  22. fair points. for the loading/weight and speed i was leaning towards the 12T. that 128T is a tank with all the trimmings, but i think it may be a little big for me to manage at the moment
  23. May be purchasing a new kayak from Bass Pro Shop (before everyone offers every other suggestion, I have some money at BPS and so that's where I'm buying the kayak). That in mind, I'm trying to decide between the FS12T and FS128T. Both sit on top kayaks, but some different options. I mostly fish smaller reservoirs and like to carry a fair amount of gear (tackle, rods, reels, depth finder, etc.) so i'd prefer a bigger kayak that the FS10 sit in kayak I currently have. Anyone have any info/opinions to offer? Any first hand experience or opinions on the pros/cons of these kayaks mentioned would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
  24. thanks basshole!! both I and TW appreciate you!!
