  1. you just missed out on a deal i had posted in the flea market, but she gone!! it was a 6' envy black casting rod. i'd call it right in that medium range. nice little rod, especially for what you're looking for in the kayak. had a very short rear grip, so the rod itself didn't feel that short in my hands.
  2. I usually try to throw a bone to those that provide good customer service and so today i'm throwing one to Bass Mafia. I have 2 of their coffins, a deep and a 3700 version. the 3700 version has a leaky gasket that allowed some water in a couple weeks ago. i submitted my info on their "contact us" form on their website and about an hour later a guy emailed me back and wanted my address to send me a new gasket and offered some advice on installation tips. yesterday i got home and there it was, free of charge replacement gasket. those boxes are pricey and super premium, but it's nice to know they service the product after the fact. made me feel like the money was well spent!
  3. loctite gel if you have to use it, but anymore i look for good hooks with good keepers because the glue is just time consuming.
  4. that monkey i had making my picks was on vacation last week so i had to make the picks myself!!!!!
  5. man only way i could have done worse was to have no team at all!!!! i went from 98.5% to 89.9% like that!
  6. slayed the bass last year in the hooch on the beetle spin, but with a chartreuse yamamoto grub. definitely the fastest and easiest way to catch them in the chattahoochee. i was out on saturday with my wife floating from island ford down to azalea dr and missed a couple trout, had a small bass get off and landed one bluegill. slow day on the river!
  7. i knew i'd seen that pic from GON (georgia outdoor news) because it was caught just south of atlanta.... good find!
  8. slipped out for a little session right before dark last night.... not much action, missed one really good bite on my t rig. was working my way back to the truck and tossing the MB giant dog x in white python. tossed past a point, twitched it 2-3 times and this spot nearly ripped the rod out of my hands! 3.25lber and i caught it about 100 yards away from the 3.5lb spot i caught about 2 weeks ago! and i had to get my obnoxious selfie with my heels hat for all my haters, you know who you are !! @kickerfish1 @Catt @whitwolf
  9. it's the only reasonable approach....
  10. they baffle me every time with their shipping nonsense.... don't be surprised to get 10 shipments from them from all over the country. how they can offer free shipping when they are so inefficient is beyond me.....
  11. not too good for me! swindle and scroggins are tanking me....
  12. kyle, invest your money into the Xcalibur one knockers or pre-rap wiggle warts that everybody is so hot for right now and then hoard them and wait until you're hard up for money and then get the $25-$100 each that people are asking for them!
  13. anymore it's very short day trips, but used to do a little backpack camping here and there. spent a week on the AT once in North GA and even though it rained like 5 of the 7 days (like poured every day) it was actually still a lot of fun. more than anything helped to just kind of reset and break away from "the usual" for a few days. If i were you, i'd look for a good spot that might have a little fishing to be done along the way and get a little carry rod and have at it!
  14. they moved you off the fractions work because that proved too difficult.... the 4/32 (A.K.A. 1/8) was the deal breaker!!! Now they can just say 1 ruler or 2 rulers when they need to explain the lengths....
  15. i'm not terribly confident on my picks for this one!! G Swindle B Palaniuk K Jaye T Scroggins J Lucas
  16. i have a few of the easy to lose parts laying around. things like the e and c clips, small springs, drag stack washers, etc. anything that can go flying will go flying and it sure sucks to not have the replacement part available!
  17. sv105 would be perfect, was throwing the 1/15oz shroomz head ned rigs on mine last night.
  18. i use both spinning and casting for skipping. for senkos it's much easier with my spinning gear, but for jigs i've got it dialed in with a daiwa alphas sv 105 and a megabass phase 3 bearing down rod. the rod has the perfect tip for skipping the 3/8 and 1/2oz jigs that i prefer and the sv spool in the reel is unbelievable for skipping.
  19. this is me in a nutshell and john said it much better than i could!
  20. much luck in the job hunt man!
  21. i have 2 alphas sv 105's and a steez sv and they're incredible reels. once dialed in, they're as dependable and hard to backlash as my metanium dc.
  22. sorry to hear that, but you're lucky enough to have received his fishing stuff and to appreciate what you have!! i received my papaw's stuff when he passed as well. he was a bit fly fisherman, but has a small assortment of all kinds of tackle. i pulled out the lures and intend on displaying them in a spare room we have in our house. i found a super cool old vintage creel basket and am going to mount that to the wall and then hang the lures from it. i have his old eagle claw fly rod and reel as well and want to mount them up there with the basket.
  23. i prefer to fish slightly lighter in power anyways and would use my 703 for what you listed here. if you're a guy that prefers to fish a little up in the power rating then a 704 would be better suited for you.
  24. like @Bluebasser86 said it's easy to use and service and impossible to beat up.
  25. had one break me off the other night with my white python pop x on..... that bait was a killer in this pond close to my house! been a rough few weeks on the lures lost for me: phenix special fx bladed jig, whopper plopper (x2), vision 110 and a MS mini slammer all gone in just like 2 weeks.... the one plopper and the slammer were somehow lost out of the kayak or out of my truck.... they were there and then they were gone!
