  1. Rhuff. Yeah I fish Yatesville a fair amount. I have used flukes and done well. Carolina rig and square bills.
  2. Hey guys I am in the Orlando area till the 21st. Wondering if any of you guys on here would like to take a old WV boy fishing the 19th or 20th. I have been once on a small lake near Deltona and had a blast. Someone please reply....lol
  3. Awesome fish man, congrats.... I caught my pb yesterday too....
  4. No I didn't weigh it with a scale... My fishing partner has caught a lot of big fish, quite a few over 10 lbs and he estimated the weight... I am sure this will open a can of worms but I believe she was that big, if no one else does tough.... She was a beast and I caught her... That's all that matters....LOL
  5. My profile pic is actually the 6 1/2 pounder.... I just didn't get a good pic of the big one, both me and my buddy were pretty pumped up, we took 10 pics of the big one but just did not get a good..... You don't catch those fish in WV.... That is a fish of a lifetime in this state....
  6. Thanks for the info on the pics everyone... I am glad I was able to share these with you guys... I know the 8 lber looks smaller in the pic, but I swear it wasn't, just a bad pic... She was a hog......
  7. Here is the 8 lber.... Man was I a happy camper today....lol
  8. Here is the 6 1/2 pounder...

  10. I am trying..... I am struggling to get the pics edited.... But when I do I will post them....
  11. So I beat my previous personal best today.... Twice.... The first fish was a 6 1/2 lber, and man was I stoked... 3 casts later, I hook a 8 lber..... I was so excited.... It was awesome... Just wanted to share.... I have pics but they are too big to upload... It was an AWESOME day....
  12. I value cast ability and abrasion resistance the most, followed by the stretch factor....
  13. I tried to do a search and couldn't really find exactly what I was wanting to know. I would like everyones opinion on what is the best casting floro line. Also any input on how abrasion resistant the line is. Thanks a lot in advance.
  14. slonezp, are you satisfied with your cabelas rain gear???? ScottF, that was what I was thinking of doing as well with the layering underneath. I was looking at both the cabelas and bps stuff. Thanks for the help guys
  15. Hey guys, done a search and couldn't find anything on this so I thought I would ask. What is everyones opinion on rain gear? I am looking to buy some, I don't want anything that I cant wear in the summer so nothing really insulated. But what works best for you guys, thanks
  16. Hey guys, just wondering if anyone had tried these yet. I have some on order and should be here by Thursday. They look really good. Let me know what ya think.
  17. So I was wondering how to fish these baits without getting hung up all the time. I havent ever fished either bait but I would like to try some time. My problem is that everywhere I fish there is alot of brush, which is what I fish 99 % of the time so there is no way to do that with these 2 baits without getting hung up. I have looked on youtube and pretty much every video I see shows that rigging these baits on a jig head with the hook exposed. Now you guys may be able to do this without getting hung but I am positive that I wouldnt be able to. So how to you guys fish these baits, hook these baits, and how are you sucessful with these baits. Thanks for any and all help guys, Matt
  18. Thanks guys, I tried a search before I post RW but I couldnt find anything. Thanks guys
  19. Ok guys, so being relatively new to bass fishing I have a question. I heard a guy talking about the water turning over, and that it was about to happen. I was lost, I have no idea what he is talking about. Could someone please explain what this is, what happens when this occurs, how does it affect fishing and just anything else that may be helpful to know. Thanks a lot guys, Matt
  20. Thanks for the info snakehead....appreciate it
  21. Hey guys, I have never made any type of bait what so ever, but I recently seen a very interesting wood wake bait. I went online and looked at this bait and it is quite simple looking and outragously expensive. So I was thinking I may try to make a similar one on my own. So I need to know what type of wood one would use to make it out of. Thanks guys
  22. So i done a search but didn't really find what I was looking for. I have committed to jig fishing recently and was wondering what everyone uses. I have been using bitsy bugs or strike king, in a 1/8 or 3/16 oz size. So i was wondering what you guys use as far as brand, type, weight and anything else you may want to add. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Matt
  23. Sam, you have no idea how proud the bait monkey is….. In the past 18 months I have bought a new boat, 10 rods, reels, all higher end, and countless baits and what not…. My buddy has been fishing all his life and jokes that I have got more stuff than he has…lol… But thanks man, means a lot.
  24. Well, I don't know why it is, but it sure is and I am very thankful for it. About 18 months ago or so, I traded in a decade long addiction to heroin for an absolutely awful bass fishing addiction. The best 18 months of my life, and I am so thankful for fishing, because without it and so good friends i probably wouldn't be here today.
