  1. Ummm no. They are a year behind Cam.
  2. I hate that for ya buddy. My panthers had a bad run with ESPN and Delhomme. Yall will come out of it soon. I hope that the Raiders do good things. They actually have a front office now, so i see that team changing. Its just going to take time o build a team thru the draft and get out from under alot of the huge contracts that Al had them under. Not hating on Al, but i do think that all teams need a front office separate the owner. Hang in there buddy
  3. I finally dedicated one rod and reel to A rigs and Swim baits. Ive converted my Castaway Skeleton 7'6"Heavy slow action Flippin Stick (they call it slow but its mod fast) i took the Zillion 7:1 off and put a new Cardiff 300A on it. I normally dont go higher than 50lb braid on but i went bought some 65lb Spiderwire Stealth. I was able to do this because i bought a 7'7" Cumara back durring the Christmas Sale from TW and still didnt put a reel on it . So i bought the Cardiff at the last sale and problem/solved! I fished the Castaway/Cardiff combo today with an A rig and did catch 1 fish with the Picasso School E w/ 1/4oz basstrixx's. It felt great, and the action is almost perfect for the A Rig. This is good for now, if i progress well with A rigs and swimmers, i may buy a "swimbait rod"ive. But this rig will definitely do the job!!
  4. Man, you can really go either way. A MH will certainly do the job of both jig and frogs and will save you a few bucks. The H Veritass should have a little more sensitivity but it is rrated for 3/8 to 1.5 oz and gives the ability for heavier lures. But since you say theres not alot of heavy or thick cover, then why not go for the vendetta. Save a few bucks and have rod that is really versitile with almost ANY LURE. I use heavies for frogs and jigs but cover down here gets thick
  5. What weight of Jigs do you plan on using and how heavy is the cover that you will be using it in?
  6. Wow...that is banged up pretty good
  7. X2 on memorial day, but why not shoot them an email or even call them monday morning and ask. If you do contact them, report back!
  8. You should be able to get the prop repaired for 60-75 bucks. Mine was pretty banged up and now it looks brand new for 75! Im with Sloan, clean the pump first. It could be simple as that. If not, then the bilge pumps are cheap. Even if you buy another prop, get yours repaired. Its good to have a backup.
  9. I like that craw!! Love the bright orange belly. It screams Craw imitation but would also be good for imitating bream!!....at least i think so.
  10. The only that really limits a jigs effectiveness is the user. Be creative and and when it doubt, slow down and let the jig do the work. Ive caught fish in 30' of water and 6inches of water on jigs.

    Hooks!

I gues you can say i have alot of different styles of hooks but, i try to be diverse and always have the right hook for the right lure and line weight. Worm hooks -reg EWG - both light and heavy Straight shanks - reg and heavy duty Weighted Swim bait hooks - Reg and heavy duty Drop shot hooks Wacky hooks. I am slowing easing away from using EWGs as much, most of my pitching is going to be done with straight shanks...*im going to see how this goes*
  12. We just had a good thread on this... check out some of our answers http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/113318-garage-organization-for-tackle-need-ideas/?fromsearch=1
  13. Good luck to ya.
  14. That my friend is the best answer. All four parts have to be in sync and the condition and tuning of the reel helps an awful lot. Of course you can cast further with your spinning rod. If you dont have your baitcast gear in sync and dialed in you are losing alot of potential.
  15. My MOST effective finesse technique, a grub on a 1/8 ounce round jig head. tex posed. I use it alot under docks. Pitch or skip to the furthest pole i can get to and let it fall. Let it set on the bottom for a few seconds and then lift it up easy and let it fall again. Shakey heads are next behind the grubs.
  16. I have used 8lb floro on a regular Lews Speed Spool and a Revo S and have had no issues with it. Would probably gotten more distance out of it if i had put it on a Lews TP or lighter reel. I still use 8 and 10 lb mono on the speed spool.
  17. Slow down big guy!! Make a few practice pitches for me and let know how you like it. I want one so bad but i keep spending money on everything else!!
  18. I use them too and have several bags but i havent really used them alot in cold water. They are good all around tho. I would think that they would be fine. I love their watermelon candy color, its a favorite of mine.
  19. Well said!! I use the internet and television for Weather, hard copy topo maps and Google Earth for map study, and I always have a notepad on my boat.Who needs to pay for that app. When you can do your homework at HOME!! I use a 50 cent note pad for my notes. I also mark alot of stuff on my lowrance when im out. I keep a lake map in kitchen where i do alot of map study and will mark and make notes for the next time.. i leave my phone in my truck half the time...and when it is with me, Like Snook said, its there only to receive calls...and then its in a safe place out of the way of harm
  20. The zoom chunks and super chunks are good in cold water..or for when you want a more subtle action. Rage are awesome too.
  21. I do fish bedding fish. However, i never keep them and i dont "fun" fish the same bedding spots all the time.
  22. Myy suggestion, get and hook and an old spool of mono. Take it in your house with you and sit down and practice tying knots. When i wanted to learn new knots i did that. Ive been watching tv with the wife for the past month or so while tying a snell knot.... over and over. I wasnt good at knot tying at first either, but if you sit down and just do it over and over ..you will get it. The palomar, braid knot, and snell knots are good to have in your arsenal. I would also sit down and practice the Albright or Alberto or uni to uni knot. This will allow you to tie leaders onto you mainline. Practice practice practice.
  23. Same thing happened to me. I now have 6 rods 7'6 or taller. But i still use my shorter rods too.
