  1. Who knows? I mean thats a really vague question... but in general, larger profile baits can produce bigger fish. Any type of lure can land a big one tho.. A big jig and trailer is always a good choice and a large topwaters like zara spooks and lunker plunkers have been known to catch a pig. Big swim baits are also known to be hawg catchers..
  2. Green pumpkin and watermelon red.
  3. Ok... Keeper - Jig/trailer Kicker - Bigger Jig/bigger trailer
  4. I dont fish many tourneys, but tourney or not when its crunch time and things arent working or when im looking for a big fish, i take out my jig rod and my one of my go to jigs. (Either a green pumkin with orange or an Okeechobee craw color) and i got look for stumps and hydrilla or boat docks that have water willow and hydrilla in and under them.
  5. Lews Tournament Pro. They retail for 199.99. Can be found NIB on ebay for 140. Great reels. Very light and smooth. I have 5 and i love them Powell Rods 169.00 ( look on TW for sales) They make several lengths and powers for flipping. As for length and power thats up to you depending on what you need. But they have flipping rods from a medium all the wayy to a mag heavy. Jig rod -and Powell 714 Endurance is what i use. Awesome rod. Sensitive and plent of backbone. Frog rod - Powell 725 Endurance is what i have. Soft tip and super strong. I use it mainly for hollow body frogs and heavier top waters. But it works great as a jig/worm rod too. Ive used it for heavy rattle trap baits in thick hydrilla and liked it alot. Top water, - i use a Daiwa T rod. 6'6M but with your budget, look at the St. Croix Avid or 6'6 M F will do the trick. I told you what i use and that is what i would recommend for your budget. It is the best bang for your buck out there. However you cannot go wrong looking at the Shimano Reels, Shimano rods, St. Croix Rods. Alot of guys are also saying good things about the Daiwa Lexa reels.
  6. I didnt know either...so i went with the original. And apparently it has something in it for all profiles of baits. Ive caught them on Jigs, heavy spoons, traps, crankbaits, jerkbaits and swimbaits on an A rig, using MegaStrike.
  7. Who needs a weather man when you have Sam?! Jk kidding Sam, thank you for all of your updates and storm warnings.
  8. I realize you say that it says suspending. But obvioisly, its not suspending. If it has dencent action, id mark it, and save it for the later in the spring and use it then.
  9. I like colors that will match up well with bream, bluegil, perch. I do have some shad and herring imitators but where i throw my swim jigs there is usually abundant panfish. Ill go lighter or darker shades depending on water clarity. Green pumkin/watermelon and Bama Bug are two good colors to start with. Black and blue is another good one. I wasnt being color specific to the Grass pig but really any trailer. Pumpkin is a good color for clearer water.
  10. When i got my first boat, i was happy just to have "something that floats" Boy i was wrong. I got a 17 Alumacraft with 40hp Mariner w/tiller. I bought it because i didnt want to spend alot of money and it was 3000 bucks and in terrific shape. I wish had known better. I had ZERO storage. STORAGE IS A BIG DEAL I had no electronics. ELECTRONICS ARE A BIG DEAL It had a trolling motor that was 30thrust (i eventually bought a 50#) it had Zero live wells. Now this boat was great for fishing on the river and could get into spots on the lake that most tournament boats could not. However, as i progressed, and got away from fishin the rivers and more into traditional bass fishin, i knew that this boat would not do. I applaud you for doing your research and thinking ahead. Had i done my homework, i probably could have spent a few more bucks and gotten a 17 or 18a foot bass boat with decent electonics and the storage and versitility that i needed. I kicked my self for a while everytime i seen a decent bass boat selling for 4 or 5 grand. Ill get to the point, spend you money ONCE. Go ahead a get everything you can that will fit you and you fishing style. You may have to be patient and wait to find "that" boat. It took me 7 years to find the one that i have now (i stole it!!) Good luck!
  11. Happy brithday Keri.
  12. X2 on the devil spear, its a secret weapon of mine.
  13. X2 to me, i can do an alberto knot quicker than even thinking about a blood or uni to uni. Its sooooo simple, make a loop with your leader, bring the braid through, wrap er up, come back thrrough the loop, tighten, voila!
  14. Improved Albright knot or Alberto knot. Most them are a pain in nthe butt, youve gotta tie them a thousand times before it comes like second nature.
  15. Spiderwire Ultra cast / Sunline Sniper FC. 30lb braid is a good all around size for BC gear and you can go 8-12lb FC. All braid makes a little noise, but other than that it is a must for me.
  16. Be patient young patawan
  17. What did u catch it on...
  18. X2 on rippin them thru grass. One of the lakes i fish (Roanoke Rapids Lake) is COVERED in milfoild and hydrilla and a rattle trap is my go to. Dude, if you have grass. Line your reel up with Fluoro, and when it hits the grass u will feel it, then snap your rod up sharply and let it fall. If you are on the fish, you will get bit. My two favs are the Rapala Clackin Rap and thr Red Eye Shad.
  19. Mine runs around 68 and my mind still out runs it.
  20. Thanks, i havent watched every game of Kap, or wilson because i am on the east coast, but i have watched every game for Cam and some RG3. And i have noticed that both of them do better without the spread, or QB option attack. Both have incredible arms. Lets not forget that this season , Cam did much better when they took out most of the college QB bullcrap. He won the last 6 of 7them games. Alot of it is the team as a whole and not just the QB. I do think that Tyrell Pryor can improve and make himself a "starting cailber" QB. After all, there were several greats that couldnt win a SB but did eventually.
  21. Like a yo yo. Pick it up and let it fall. The mood of the fish and season determines how fast i do it. Very rarely do i just chunk and wind, and when i do chunk and wind, i add twitches, pauses, and i kill it over cover.
  22. Give em a chance. How can one make that "assumption" that they are all the same. only 3 of the 7QBs you listed have more than two years experience in the NFL. And 3 of the 4 with 2 years or less have play off experience. Its not fair to compare all of those guys. Raider sorry to hijack this thread.
  23. I cant really say anything to help, i am the poster child for Adult Attention Deficit Disorder. I make a plan before i start the boat then I just let my mind wonder. And once the boat stops its a little easier for my mind to focus on what i want to do.
  24. Start by telling us what you have and what you do with them..
