  1. I am Lews casting reel user. I have 8 Lews in total. 1 Team Lews Pros, 5 TPs, 1 TSS, and 1 Speed spool. I put my hands on a lews spinning reel and it didnt really feel as nice as the old Abu Cardinals that i had (which are half the price) I was really unimpressed....that and i read online reviews from customers that felt like they got shafted by buying such a poorly constructed reel. So this year when i bought two new spinning reels, i went with the Stradics and i will not look back. Moral of this story, BUY LEWS CASTING and SHIMANO SPINNING.
  2. Your post said" best bait ever" ..... duh LIVE SHAD! +best LURE ever, brush style jig or football jig with D&M Flappin craw or a Rage craw/lobster
  3. D&M Piranha
  4. Sam, thanks so much for this quote. Im going to type and print this and post it at the office. We have some young men at work that need to hear this.
  5. Get noticed? First and foremost, follow Sam's advice. Second, GET OUT THERE. Join a bass club. I would suggest go in as a co angler, keep your mouth shut and absorb all the info you can from older, wiser anglers. Fish as often as you can. Did Michael Jordan become great by never practicing? Experiemnt different techniques when you are out pond hopping or have some fun fishing time. Visit your local tackle shops, dont just buy your stuff and leave, buy a coke or a cup of coffee and listen to the older guys, ask questions but dont reveal secrets learn by others unless they say its ok. If you do this locally for long enough, you will be recognized as an avid local angler. In a bass club, you will be competeing against guys from all over your region and will make alot of contacts. Dont be affraid to write their phone numbers down and keepnin touch about different bodys of water and fishing. Like a said in line one, fish as often as you can and save your money to pay entry fees so that you can fish competetivly often. But just remember as you get out there making yourself seen to other anglers and guys in the tackle shop and tackle salesman to always present yourself as a good young man. Do not be arrogant but eager to learn. Do not be boastful, but humble. I hope this helps man. My best answer is GET OUT THERE.
  6. Thats a really big spinner bait. That would be killer for stripers down here.
  7. I dont like it. Im glad that Jerry Richardson (panthers owner) said that our unform will not change as long as he is alive. Keep it simple, no need to change. I like that some teams have been pretty much the same through the years. Pittsburg, Green Bay, Kansas City, Chicago, Oakland and so on.. Will say that im glad tampa bay got rid of the cream puff unis back in the 90s
  8. Dude, get the combo, and next pay check get some 25 dollar calcuttas or strike king glasses to hold you over.
  9. I bought one against better judgement, it broke, abu repplaced it, i sold it. Theres alot of good rods in the 99-150 that have not had as many issues and complaints that ive seen from the Veritas. I think Abu had a good concept for the rod, but theyy missed the mark when it came to durability. Ill stick to my Powells for now.
  10. Score!! Very nice to hear.
  11. Will keep that in mind
  12. I have a gen 2, and its not on the level with my Lews TPs, but its a dang good reel for the money and i do not plan on replacing it anytime soon.
  13. Not sure about the fitz rods, but dobyns is well respected. Powell Endurance, St. Croix Avid, St. Croix Rage, Duckett, Shimano Crucial, are all well respected rods that are going to give you a high level of performance.
  14. Hahaha after reading this thread, i was looking all over the web at the NRX, after hours of seeing prices in the 500s, i started looking at GLX
  15. Hey Justin welcome to the best bass fishing site on the net. How old are you? In school? Working?
  16. Dude, you better jump on this deal. Very cool Silas!
  17. Personallly, I would have went down and taken out a trespassing warrant out on him. IDK about Florida, but you have enough evidence to go before a magistrate and obtain a warrrant for trespassing. 1. You told him not to come on the property. 2. You videoed him on the property. Landlord or not, you pay rent and are the controller of the property. Just because he is the landlord, he doesnt have the authority to come over unannounced. If it was the first time, as a former LEO, id see it as a gray area, but you expressly told him before to stay off of the property. (Or to knock or call ahead before coming over) i dont know what you told him... anyways but just that info alone is enough a NC magistrate to issue a warrant.
  18. I had a bad seal back in january, i know bleeding the steering can be a pain in the behind, so i actually took it to a mechanic and let them do it. Did it cost more...yes, could i have done it my self...yes... but the mechanic does it all the time, it took him no time to do it..he did it right the first time and i didnt have to worry with it.
  19. Beads, weight stops. Ive never had a problem weight tungsten cutting my line or breaking a line that was damaged by the weight. But...then again i also use a swivel, never cared for the carolina keeper. Hook,knot,line_______________knot,swivel,knot,bead,weight,n bobber stop, line______
  20. As far as Law enforcement was concerned, i was actually comfortable in the cloro dress shoes, except when it was muddy or nasty out, I really liked the bates ultra light quarter boots. And they didnt cost no more than 75.00. But i spent more time sitting down or walking on pavement than now. I still have a pair!!
  21. You can go on ebay and get a stradic FJ shipped for less than 140. Definitly worth it. I love Lews Casting reels but its hard to bat shimano Spinning reels. As for spinning rods, theres alot of good option in the 125-150 range.
  22. Since I got out of police work, ive found that quality boots are a must. You can drop half of the price of good ones for cheap boots that last only 1/4 of the time. I like Gerogia Work Boots. Raider, spend the extra money. They will last a little longer and your feet will thank you.
  23. Powell Endurance 7'3" ML spinning, 109.00 if you get if from fish ranger.
  24. Im a zip lock guy. But i just did a search for the Easy View because i hadnt seen one. Definitely looks like a good way to store plastics. You can also store spinnerbaits, jigs, and cranks but, im more interested in soft plastic storage. But i guess the crankbait hangers can be good for temporary storage while fishing until you get back home. For some of you boaters that havent seen the easy view system, just google it and take a look. Im probably gonna buy it and use it but im sure ill still keep some stuff in ziplock bags too. Thanks for sharing Tom!! Tom, is the anything I should know about it before i buy one?
  25. Im a Powell Guy, but im serious, when i get my bonus from work, im contemplating getting a NRX jig rod.
