  1. Steel cable from the shop at work. Never had a problem with it.
  2. 12-16 on the boat, I really only use 4-6 in a single day...just depends on what's going on. In the winter time, there were several times when I just put two rods on the deck and didn't have to get any rods out of the rod box. (Jerkbait rod and a 7'6H for deep jigs and pitching jigs on deeper boat docks.).
  3. Not llooking good for me, although i was guarnteed the day off on that friday, i think the workload i have is going to dictate. Ive been having my guys work late on Fridays and pull Saturdays too because i am about a month and half behind from where we should be right now.
  4. Havent seen any posts or discussion on here about the Riley Cooper situation so I figured I would get yalls opinion. If you are unaware of the situation go to espn * and you wont have to look far. I feel what he said and did was absolutely dispicable and is absolutely unacceptable from any man much less a professional athlete. Id like to get yalls opinions on the action and how you would/ or how the Eagles should have handled it? Or are you ok with how they handled it. What do you guys forsee for Riley Coopers caree, is it over before it really started and do you think he will ever be able to have comraderie on a team. Im really surprised this hasnt been talked about.
  5. .38special
  6. Made the switch years ago, costas make a far better lens imo
  7. Quite a few guys on here use the Fenwick Elite Tech and The Fenwick HMX. I do know that Slonezp is a big fan of the Fenwick rods, he is a guy on here whose opinion I really respect.
  8. ....and tho i do miss law enforcement, im alot happier and it is alot easier on my body and my mind.
  9. Go for it Fly. Nothin sux more than being miserable. I changed from law enforcement to Vegetation/tree management and basically my 9 or years of lawenforcement, really prepapred me for what i do now as far as being a project manager/ supervisor...at first it was a hard transition, two years later, im in middle managgement.
  10. 7'2 MH casting- Jigs, worms, spinnerbaits, senkos, flukes, buzz baits, lipless cranks, paddle tails, Square bills. 7'6 H casting- flippin, Punching, football jigs, big worms, carolina rigs, frogs, big cranks, alabama rig, 7'1 M Spinning, lighter finesse jigs, shakey heads, hard and soft jerkbaits, some crank baits, weightless worms, flukes, drop shots, topwater, It really depends on where im fishing, but not knowing where im hypothetically fishing, thats pretty much what ill take.
  11. Takes a big man to apologize. Glad you gave it a fees tests and ultimately another chance.
  12. Aight guys... we have little over a month to go!! We probably need to take a roll call of who is still going
  13. 6.5 lbs +/- Largemouth. 10-11lbs Striper
  14. I use two different rods for flukes...i like both equally Powell Endurance 723 7'2 MH Lews Tourney Pro 30lb Spider Wire Ultracast & 12lb Sunline Sniper leader Powell Endurance 712 spinning 7'1 M Shimano stradic 2500 8lb Sunline Sniper 4/0 EWG hooks
  15. Should be just fine. And you shouldnt lose a whole lot of distance.
  16. 40+ football jig fishing a main channel. We've caught several between 2-4lbs on that area where the channel swings in on Gaston. Ive also used carolina rigs, heavy spoons, and drop shots in that 30-40' area and been productive.
  17. Dang...I was hoping to snag a couple more and completely phase out my old dawia and castaway stuff... I guess I'll wait and see what Powells new rod looks like...also been considering either a legend extreme or a Glx for a new jig rod. Glad that you boys are satisfied with your Powells.
  18. Not just for pulling the boat, but if your going to invest in a truck either new or used, I'd go ahead and get the 4x4 and all the other accessories or standard equipment to fit your daily needs... Do it once with no regrets.
  19. Who hoo.... One of my favorite rods! I have two of them. I'll probably buy another 714 which is also a must have for powell / jig fishermen. Nice fish in your pic Adam
  20. RockChalk, Sam,Tom, SmallJaws, and Arv pretty much nailed it. Hard to follow up on that. So im gonna echo them. Slow down Swing on mushy or unfamiliar bumps Natural colors KEEP THROWING THEM. THE MORE YOU DO IT, THE BETTER JIG FISHERMAN YOU WILL BE.
  21. Ridiculous maybe. Im content with the 3,4,and 5 bait rigs. IMO, its too situational of a type of rig for me to have alot of different complex set ups. I have 4 different rigs between 3 and 5 lures. I can def see where that rig would shine. I would def like to borrow one for some fall Striper fishing!!
  22. What is the line and lure ratings?? First thing that came to mind was big swim baits, but i would need to know more about the rod.
  23. Diggy, 14-16 should be fine...pretty standard for fishing moderate cover or rocks. Ive used AbrazX before, no problems with it.
