  1. Normally ill tell anybody that a 7' MH is the way to go, but not having fished the FL canals I can't really say. If u have a lot of nasty grass, I don't k or that I would go lighter
  2. Getting on the water. Once I get on the water more, I'm gonna concentrate on my big bait equals big fish theory. Big Jigs, big spinner baits, swimbaits, punching.
  3. When I was fishing 4 to 6 Times a week, i had plenty of things that I didn't like about fishing. But now that career path has forced my boat into dry storage most of the year. I can't really think of any... I mean sure I can think of a few things that used to rattle my nerves, but I'd take every jet ski on the lake coming by, all of the annoying bugs and harsh extreme weather to get back into the fishing groove that I was in. I'm just greatful to be a fisherman, don't have too Much to complain about. But I wouldn't cry if fuel prices were to come down
  4. You too Mike! Merry Christmas everybody, and please keep in the front of your minds the reason for the season. I love you brothers and I'm thankful to be apart of Bass resource.
  5. Carolina is quietly doing it. Yesterdays game was a testiment to the versatility and adaptability. Even tho he offense struggled most of the game the other two phases were lights out and Cam found a way to win it when given the opportunity. Kudos to my much loathed Saints on one hell of a game. Disappointments from yesterday were Chicago and Miami, I mean what the crap... Kudoss to the cowboys. Romo looked pretty good late on the game.
  6. That's exactly what I was gonna say
  7. Do u have a heavy action cranking rod... I'm guessing it could work.
  8. Hey Fly, kudos to your Eagles and finding a way to win. Lets hope Carolina can do the same
  9. I am pretty stuck on the Lews baitcast reels, I absolutely was not impressed with their spinning reels. Your money is much better spent on a stradic or a saros.
  10. Whatever you buy, try not to pay retail. Look for sales and check the online auction sites and our BR Flea market.
  11. Don't own one personally but I've used a couple and they are awesome reels and built like a tank...but light as anything else on the market.
  12. I'm with Brendan on this one, I love the hard gills and such, but I've caught far more fish on a jig that I can match up to the blue gill and bream. The Matt lures and other swimbaits are obviously great lures for BIG bites when used correctly but MY favorite has to be a jig. A squarebill crankbait in some sort of blue gill or bream pattern would be my second choice
  13. Carolina rolls on boys! Gonna make for an interesting game against the Saints next Sunday night. Pulling for the Seahawks Tmw night.
  14. Minus the snow mobiles and loud relatoves, its sounds like a plan. Too bad, there isn't a lot of ice fishing on NC
  15. Choo chooo!! The Carolina train continues to roll on!! Sorry folks, but the bandwagon is full. Lol. On a serious note. I think the Panthers underestimated Miami and overestimated themselves going into that contest and it nearly bit them. The Broncos are pouring it on tonight... I know RW is pleased so far
  16. Robo worms are legit, they are not durable tho. I agree with CP, i use the not so durable but great action baits generally but when the bite gets hot I throw the zoom worm if I can get away with it.... The Jackall Flick shake is in same category as robo for me, great worm, mot durable at all..
  17. My three PBs were caught in heavy wind gusts. Its aggravating this time of year it can be down right miserable but I'm a firm believer in wind..but just be smart about it...don't need to be reading about u in the newspapers
  18. My point exactly. Its hard to swollow that you haven't had a single bite. So its probably a combination of not being in the right places and nor not detecting the bite. I like a tad bit heavier line but your set up does sound ideal. A 7' MH is probably the most popular rod today and is ideal for jigs. Stick with it. Slow down and be patient.

Sam and Snook, just reading what yall have ready and heard about the mafia, Castro, Oswald, and all of the theories ....man I think I need to go to amazon and buy the book
  20. Don't really know how to predict the outcome of this game. Alex smith and co. better be on the A game.. I think their defense can keep it close, but this game will be decided by which Alex smith shows up and how they are able to run the ball and keep Peyton on the sidelines. I guess I will make a pick.... Gonna go with the Broncos mainly because they are at home. Up next is my Carolina Panthers hosting NE Tmw night. That's gonna be good game too. Its nice for my boys to be relevant once again.
  21. Bobby did u ever figure out what it was?
  22. Hey Brian, I started a new job back in march and it demands a lot of my time and energy,I've been on the road a lot during the week and haven't been able to fish as much as I wanted. I have three weeks off around Christmas and plan on fishing the winter pattern..lol. The family is doing well, little man is growing like a weed. I've been doing a lot more reading on BR and less posting, but I haven't gone anywhere. I still have a lot of new gear and tackle that was purchased last winter and spring that hasn't been used yet...so I'm pretty excited about getting out more... Ad for the BR road trip, i would def like to.. I'm gonna look into it
  23. Not participating in it on purpose...got tired of shaving two weeks ago so...I haveny shaved in two weeks... Then I heard of no shave November over the weekend... Sounds like a plan... I'm sure ill get sick of the beard soon and shave. My wife hates it...bit she will live
  24. Loved it. Very original idea
  25. That's what's its all about right there. Irratating sometimes but totally worth it Yea, between work and seeing the same questions, I don't post nearly as much as I used too. But helping these new peeps and sharing information with seasoned veterans is what its all about.
