  1. Well I'm a tar heel fan through and through... with out or without fans there we will find a way to disappoint come football season.
  2. Dang budget level bait monkey done karate chopped me in the throat. Surfing the interweb and found a steal on 13s Origin C reel. 55 smackaroos each. 6.6:1. I need another reel like I need a hole in my head bit figured at that price, grab them up and figure it out. I'm excited, I've never used anything from 13 but.ive heard pretty good things about them. Any one used these reels? Only problem is now that all my rods already have reels on them... oh well... guess I'm going to have feed the monkey
  3. Hey Sam, I need yo get outta the house too! Theres a mess load of good fishing ponds west of lake chesdin. I did Lot of contract forestry work there for several years. Kept a travel rod in 5he work truck hope you are doing well old friend. I'm thinking of getting out and hitting the river soon myself
  4. 6-6 - 7' m or mh rod with fast action with 6.4:1 reel. Will do almost anything well, and will do great for a few things. What is your projected budget? We get that you are young, but give us an idea of how much you are able to spend and we can point you in a more definitive direction. There alot of reels and rods out there and it can get confusing, but you came to the right guys.
  5. Awesome job brother. You have a gift. Looks great.
  6. A 90s model quantum that sounded like one of those tunes up civics with bad exhaust
  7. Zoom trick worm in watermelon, weightless Yamamoto senko, bream colored jig. Theres probably alot more old standards. But those are my panic baits. Maybe a war eagle spinnerbaits in 1/2 oz too
  8. I tend to down size on ponds but it depends on the pond and the cover there
  9. Dang my blue buddy has done switched it up on me? Wow I have been away too long. Years ago I got on the lews Tp bandwagon and I havent gotten off of it yet. I have an old chronarch and a couple daiwas but I can pick up a lews tp and go right to work.
  10. I'm impartial to the lews. They are all good reels. I have several. My nephew is young and getting into bass fishing. He recently bought a new Abu Revo X. They are 99.99. He swears by them. If you can find something in that price range there is more money for line, baits, etc.
  11. Hard to beat a lews reel. Good set up. I agree with the others on the buzz bait and line choice. But if you are mainly looking for a contact rig for jigs, t rigs, carolinarigs, and skipping/pitching. That will do. You may be able to get PowerPro braid a little cheaper, it's pretty much the standard and it proven many times over. Enjoy your new set up
  12. 9 lb 9 oz. In a hunting club pond in 06. I think it was a black and red ribbon tail worm on 1/4 oz Texas rig. Another club member pulled an 11lb fish outta there a year before I caught mine.
  13. Thanks guys
  14. Hey guys! It's probably been 6 or 7 years since I got on here and chatted it up. I had to take a few years away from serious fishing. This virus has put me in a position to get back in it. I hope you guys are doing well. I look forward to getting to know members that have joined and contributed since I've been off here. Happy Easter yall Teal

    Hi All.

    Welcome
  16. D&m
  17. You cannot go wrong with amber or just smoked gray glasses. Polarized of course.
  18. Love that reel. Lol. Beautiful. That's what it's all about
  19. Omg it's like the bat mobile and a bass boat had a baby. Awesome.
  20. I have a pair of Man o wars in 580p with an amber lens. Awesome clarity. Strong frames. Lens have been beat all the crap over last 4 years. Still good tho. Amber lenses are great with fishing moderately shallow water because it's perfect for the bottom sediment color.
  21. Lews BB1 can be found for 119. 5:1 My general rule, I fish my square bills and lipless cranks on the same rod, I generally use 6.3:1 on them. I rated to retrieve the square bills a.bit faster. The lipless cranks are typically yo yo'd and retrieve pretty eradically. I use the slower gear ratio or Lower ipt, for med and divers.
