  1. If you prefer baitcasting equipment, theres not wrong with a getting a ML or even a M. Just make sure to get a reel that is light and is capable of launching light lures. Just make sure to use a light line and adjust your drag accordingly. But this is where a spinning rod can be really useful. Again a medium or med. Light. Longer rods make longer casts. I think the setup you are looking at is fine.
  2. Great lakes is not the only place for rough water. I have strap on my deck that i use all the time. At high speeds any kind of wake that u hit weather its mother nature or a nother boat will make that trolling motor bounce up and down. Its takes just a second to secure your trolling motor! use it all the time, i do.trolling motors arent cheap, protect them. There are several methods and devices on the market. Years ago i was fishing from a 17' aluminum boat and i nearly lost my trolling from rough water.
  3. I take it thats theirs no friendship discount. Lmbo. Its a good price.
  4. Hahahaha. I was hoping you were going to say that she got into the wrong boat..wow was she just crazy or high?
  5. Being snowed or iced in is a good time to clean and organize fishing equipment...while your watching the New England Bradys getting womped!
  6. Ive seen alot of videos of fishing on potomac river and there are plenty of snake heads there from what i gather.
  7. Theres going to be yellow flags flying everywhere. Its going to look like an Oakland Raiders game.
  8. You will hear both sides. John crews did a video on it. I like the round bend, but i have some of the kvds and they are good.
  9. I cant speak for JFrancho, but my Castaway 6'8 med doesnt feel overloaded with a 1/2 but it doesnt take much more than that. I usually use a 3/8 or smaller when im pitching it under docks on that rod.
  10. 7'2 MH XF. I have thrown them on a 6'8 med fast, mostly pitching them under docks. I lke the mh a little better since we have alot of hydrilla and the extra strength is needed and i can make longer casts too.
  11. Yes we have one in Charlotte NC
  12. Jonathan van dam just inked a deal with them. He will use shimano reels and loomis rods. Im not sure about others, im sure they have several
  13. My motor is excellent, but when its time too look at another, im definitely looking at the. Yamaha vmax sho also. I am on a boat daily at work and we use the yamaha 4 stroke series and i am more than pleased with them. But that said you cant go wrong with a new motor from any of the leading companies merc, e tec, yamaha. If your boat is rated for a larger motor and you want a larger motor then that is a personal decision.
  14. Felix the reason i take my approach is that when water is realy stained or murkey a bass vision is impaired, kinda like us when we are trying to drive when there is a low lying fog. This a good time to try to catch them. I want a lure that does two things. First i want a lure that i quickly cover some water. And i want a lure that with cause vibration in the water, this makes it easier for them to track even tho it not easy for them to see that my lure is not the real thing. For me, these conditions are where "power fishermen" can thrive. That is if the fish are somewhat active and said area is holding fish. Back in june, after a week of rain here, this approach with a war eagle spinner bait and a 12inch power worm put a quick limit in boat...
  15. If i have water like to that and i know that fish are holding, im searching with a spinner bait, lipless crank, or a crankbait. Once we pin point em, ill throw any kinda soft plstic or a jig as long as it moves a little water I would save the drop shot for a clear water situation
  16. The medium, finesse worms, senkos, light spinner baits, top water, traps, fiinesse jigs, And possibly jerk baits. Good for same stuff as mediums but just lighter..the lightbaits that are a little difficult to cast far with a MH.
  17. All of the medium heavys are what i call all purspose rods: jigs, t rigs, spinner bait, buzz, bigger topwaters, c rigs, vibrating jigs, light swim baits The 7'0 heavy can pretty much do the same stuff. Heavier, jigs, t rigs, heavy spinner baits, c rigs, heavier vibrating jigs, weighted swim baits,
  18. Im swtching to another brand but i used to put a lil powerbaiit in my zoom and uunscentted bags. And i still apply when fishing
  19. Endless do we need to use the 2-1 method to determine how many fish he caught? For y'all who don't know this is fairly accurate if u have a fishing buddy who constantly exaggerates on number of fish. So If your buddy tells you that he caught 4 fish, divide that by two, and then subtract 1.
  20. Yeah.. I got to wondering about daiwa yesterday and their website was no help. Glad it was resolved.
  21. Billick would be really good for them. He was a good coach, but being out of coaching may be a good thing from a scouting perspective. He has been an analyst for several years now and I'm guessing he's been watching a ton of tape on all these guys all over the league and so e from college too.
  22. Almost too late then. Lol. Jk, that's how I started using them. I just never turned back after that day.
  23. Oh....so that made a ruling at first without using all the info? Did you ever call daiwa to check on what the warranty actually is on the steez line up. It would be stupid if the warranty only covered the original owner. I mean its a 500 dollar rod, that's a fishermens family heirloom. For that kind of money there should a bullet proof warranty
  24. Motivated now! I needed motivation after fishing in a cool drizzle yesterday for 5 hours just for 2 bass and one ticked off pickerel.
