  1. I'm an NFL guy...but if you look at wiki pedia... AFC has dominated last 2.decades. unreal.
  2. Heck, nubush creek on Kerr lake/bug island, is half the size of the lake and is bigger than .most lakes.
  3. Heck yeah man! Proud for u.

    MLB Playoffs

Base running is the simplest part of the game mentally. It's the first thing we teach in little league. Base running will win games and lose them
  5. I'm exact opposite spring I go small and in n the fall I go big. A trap almost takes a front seat to spinner baits, cranks, and plastic swimbaits in the fall. Jackall tn 70, and a LC lv500, are staples right now for me. As for small ones I like the LV200 and I still have some strike king red eyes in 1/4 oz. Just upgrade the hooks on the strike king
  6. Keitech, skinny dippers, and even flukes and rage swimmers. Rage menace is good on a slow roll
  7. No skunk but my son and I were dang close yesterday afternoon. After driving 10 miles down the main lake to fish an area that has been good to me and several surranging areas we caught zero in 5 hours. We drove back toward around ramp and and started into Lee's creek, ( our ramp is in the back of it) and saw some shad flickering about 300 yards into it. We stopped to try it. The was emerging water willow grass rthat went right to a drop off. We caught 2 a piece on shallow cranks.. top water bite was dead. Storm arashi 2.5 all 4 caught in chartreuse and black back. We did this in less than 20 minutes. This reinvigorated us...we fished for 2 more hours with nothing. Came close but kept the monkey off our back. Didn't weight them but my guess is 2 fish at 2.5 lbs and 2 less than 12 inches.
  8. Maybe @Way2slow or someone can give you and exact answer. I'm just gonna say, i personally and not gonna sacrifice control... so when you get to the point of losing steering or boat getting loose. 42. Mph is respectable on that rig. I'm spoiled I have a nice Jack plate and mine was set up for optimal performance before I even got it. and even tho I can get 70 mph outta my boat i rarely go over 55.. especially once it starts getting cold.
  9. I dont think it was intended to make total sense, I dont think it was blanket statement. I think Tom just posted a very debatable topic up for discussion. I beg to differ on rod tech. Rods have improved enormously. there is just lower return on them. Also yes, reels have improved, but the reels daiwa shimano, and Abu out 20 years ago are still relative in the terms of performance.

    Tube Question

Watch this short video. It will al make sense.

    Tube Question

Gitzit tubes. Zman makes some I like too. Rigging is key on tubes otherwise you just miss the fish and get back a balled up mess. Instead of going in with the hook a quarter inch and then coming down, put the hook point and the bottom of the front and come through just bit and then bring the hook around. It makes all the difference. Skipping and pitching tubes is one of my secrets here on my lake that chocked full of boat docks. Make sure to use a Extra wide gap hook too.
  12. That's another good one.. I used to buy them up, I just can't find them at my walmart, Dunham's sports, or bait shop.
  13. Store bought? Only 2 of them that I really like... spot remover and the yum pumpkin head are the best two that in find in my local stores without having to drive up to dicks or bass pro an hour away. The pumpkin head has a wider gap to get a small beaver or small creature on. Buckeye spot remover is just tried and true staple. Other wise, I make them myself now. Do it molds has a couple of decent molds for them. It's just rewarding ngf to catch fish on something that you built. I still have alot of the BOSS HEADS and trying to use them up. But the boss I had to order. If you want a good value and decent simple head, boss is the way to go. I like the screw locks now...I didn't at first, but it saves a lot of baits from getting thrashed. Zoom and robo worms tend to tear pretty easy on traditional head. The screw lock takes alot of that away for me. If you are using z-man elaztech, on a screw lock shakey head you can use the same lure almost all day.
  14. I recently bought a 6'3 M Fast daiwa tatula just because I got it for 110, and I was intrigued by the short length. I'm starting to love this little rod. Works like a dream for skipping docks..its a bit stiff for a medium ( like most daiwa rods) but with a 1/4 oz and up jig or t rig it's perfect. Its gonna pull double duty as a Jerkbait rod. I was skipping 1/4 oz kinky beavers on it the other day...I like the old school super short length...its like I can get a better angle when roll skipping and easier to skipping out In front of myself. Haven't put it to the test In areas with alot hydrilla yet. It will probably be used in light cover. I have 12 lb sniper on it with a new daiwa tatula 100
  15. I love jackal baits. But their frogs are garbage. I'm with @ww2farmer save your money and get a little spro or a pad crasher jr.
  16. I only have a few thoughts. Drive it..see how you like it. Then take it to a good marine mechanic and let them go through it. Stratos has a good reputation and alot of people around here still run them. That's what I would do. They are good boats. The tourney fishermen I know that are still running the stratos have never complained to me. I have fished off a few of them and I like them. Good boats.
  17. Really with reels I can break them down into 2 or 3 speeds that are needed and just a couple sizes.. but rods to me are much more sspecific to me. I think you can find really good reel in the 100 to 175 range... but I have spent more time on the rod..looking for specific powers and actions. And I know that most of us can get by with just a couple of standard sizes, but like most of us have found that, we have found success in finding the right rod with right length, action or bend for the presentations, right amount of strength, the right tip, and sensitivity. I'd much rather put more into a string sensitive rod with the right type of action, and get by with a decent reel. But you are right, I've always gotten better return on reels.
  18. I dont have a science behind it. Here we have stained but fairly clear water with 4 to 5 foot visibility. Some days it's the ticket..some days they want something green or something black
  19. I spray some on when I spool a reel and rarely have to reapply.
  20. Nice! I only had to deal with lews one time over a reel that was just a lemon and they were super easy to deal with. The even sent me some cool decals. Looks like you dog is trying to get some camera time
  21. Hey man, I have a question that maybe you can shed some light on. If not maybe a few of our members have some insight. I realize that you are a touring professional and that there is a huge difference in what you do and what the "popular YOUTUBE fishermen" but over the past couple of years, I've noticed a few if not several popular content providers have picked up and moved to other areas of the country. Can you shed some light on the demands of some these partnerships that would require someone to move or otherwise make some life changes. I think alot of younger anglers believe if you are catching them enough that some "sponser" is just going to throw you some cash and free product and that's all there is to it. I'm not that naive. I'm sure it's like have a whole other job just taking care of your partners. Thanks so much for what you do and the content that you provided.
  22. For spinner baits it like 6.3:1 But any of those reels should be fine I'd put the lightest reel on the 852c
  23. Yall have fun and be safe. We are gonna need some pics of those giants that yall will catch. Godspeed
  24. What's the action on it and what are u using it for?
  25. Hey Mike, is that white color rage bug really effective for you on a regular basis in terms of numbers of fish? I haven't had a ton of luck on white craws or beavers unless it was a trailer on moving or reaction bait. I know a local hear that throws alot of creatures, and craws in white especially on overcast days and he swears by them. I've been with him punching mats in late August and he took me to the wood shed flipping a white creature bait.
