  1. Zoff, find some good points, creek channel ledges, any obvious humps and holes near the main channel...and last but not least BOAT DOCKS near deep water.. the dock can be relativley shallow but i have only had luck on docks near semi steep, or steep drops, or near the main creek channels or off of the main lake/river channel. I tell you this as if you are going tmw, you know like I things will change. When is your tourney and which ramp are you guys using? Are you coming early to prefish? If so, I can def give you a tour. (Work permitting)
  2. Prayers for a successful surgery and a quick recovery.
  3. Im never been in to deep v boats... but that is a sick rig. I would love that. That is awesome.
  4. The double might be overkill, but i dont need anymore reasons not to catch or land fish. Breaking off fish is something i dont like to do. Thats me, im a little anal about my knots.
  5. Wrap in it vinyl and put all your sponsors on it. Get some "floor decals" and make sure your fishing shirt matches the boat. Lol... JK. SORRY COULDNT RESIST.
  6. On my jigs with straight braid, I normally use a berkely braid knot or a double palomar knot. A palomar knot shot be fine, ive used them before and havent had failure. I would only use the Loop knot on moving treble baits like cranks and jerks. I have never heard of it being used for jigs.

    Bass Scent?

I started using MegaStrike Original a month ago. The stuff is the real deal. 75% of the time when i caught a fish on a jig, he was hooked in the roof of the mouth. The fish absolutley smoked them and wouldnt let go! On the jerkbaits i rubbed it on, i noticed that if they short striked it, theyd come back and hit it a second time more than half of the time. There are probably alot of good scents and attractants outt there, but MegaStrike has my complete attention. It is the real deal.
  12. Gaston is a long way for yall both. But if ya decide on it, hit me up. Im only 7 miles from gaston.
  13. Dang, i think thats the episode of Mr.Wizard that I missed.
  14. Mmmmm man, you can have that! Our local agent assigned to our area has his hands full. Its nothing to go to court and see this Agent with several pages of the court docket just his cases.
  15. HawgHandle it is then. Im going to call them and see exactly wwhat the deal is for both the Lews and Zillion.
  16. Thanks dude. I appreciate it. Im thinking of "prettying up" mt Lews TPs and my Zillion. I love cork knobs on a reel.
  17. Do the Hawgtech Knobs fit any handle or just the HawgHandle? Or certain brands/models?
  18. Litterally almost fell out of my chair. Hahahahaha
  19. You get the trolling motor straightened out?
  20. Long mike had good advice. Read up on it. I use braid on as main line on 2/3 of my rods. Braid has a lot of pros and a few cons. The cons can be reduced or eliminated with a few tricks. The braids we use today cast well. It is much more abrasion resistant and doesnt have near the memory or twists that mono or fluoro has. Braid also has nearly no stretch at all. Braid also will last alot long than mono or fluoro Braid also has tendencies to slip on the spool. Most guys just spool on some cheap mono and then connect the braid to the mono and finish spooling the braid. Half and half is a good measurement. Just dont fill the braid (or any line) to the top, leave your self 1/8-1/4 inch. Using the backing also allows you to cut down on how much braid you are actuallyy usings. This saves money on braid! The first time you set the hook hard on a fish, braid can dig into the spool. This can be solved by using the tape method. But i found it easier just ease off of my drag just a bit. (This is one of those things that everyone has an opinion on and will get alot of different responses.) But that works for me. Some online sources advise people to step back on the power of their rods to make up for the lack of stretch in the line to keep from digging and from ripping the lure from the fishes mouth. I dont do that, like i said i set the drag and ease it off just a little bit from where i normally would. But not too much. Use fluoro or mono leaders if and when you need them. 5' is a good length. Alberto knot.
