  1. Oh and mine isnt telescopic. Ive always been affraid to get a telescopic rod. But it does have alot of back bone, ive boat flipped 4 pounders in the boat. Its good with braid and you dont have to cross their eyes to set the hook...
  2. I have one. But i paid more than that! (Good deal!!!) Lowest ive used on it is 3/8 ounce jig with a trailer. Ive used as much as 1.5oz punching with it. Sweet spot really is around 1/2 with a trailer. 3/4 T rigs feel good too. You will like it alot.
  3. I LOVE IT! Old school looks and a really a deadly combo !!
  4. Lews. But if you go chronarch you are still getting a beast.
  5. I like a classic look. Calcutta on an older GLX rod with the full cork. I had a fishing buddy (hes dead now) but he had several calcutta and GLX combos and those to me just stick in my mind as "classic"
  6. Good classic. great top 5. Those guys were far and away on the fish mmore than anyone else.
  7. The driver remebers the package but dont know where he took it. Hmmmmm sounds fishy. i guess fed ex guys bass fish too..
  8. Pace has been averaging 21 lbs per day and now we are to believe that he is less than 10lbsa on the day. I seriously doubt it. I want hank cherry or Ike to win. But i have feeling that pace could run away with it...im sure hes seriously sandbaggin.
  9. No doubt on that price. I once played around on the nitro website and "built my own" z9 and it came to 66K (decked out). Im sure a ranger with all the trimmings would be way past 66K.
  10. Bummer. If he flipped it he was going way too fast. There is no reason to ever drive that fast when you are turning....with or without a trailer. Im sure its insured. The idiot will get a second chance.
  11. Fishing has been up and down. Since first of the year, ive had skunk days and ive had a few GREAT DAY days on Gaston and Roanoke Rapids Lake. Its really been up and down with the weather and my adjustments and/or lack there of. I caught a nice bass estimated 6lbs on a football jig the same day my steering went out on my boat.
  12. The Crucials compare well. Some will say that the crucials are better than powell,... i dont know about that...but they are def quality rods and i wouldnt be scared to buy one if it fit a need. I have used a crucial (a spinning model) before and have nothing but good things to say about them. Shimano is a good company, you can find the rods everywhere and they have a good lifetime warranty. (Over the counter warranty) The crucial 7'2" Med Heavy Fast would be great.
  13. Pace has been sandbaigging all weekend.
  14. A 9 year old Jack Russle Terrior and a 5 year old Belgian Malinois. Both females. Will post pics soon
  15. 3/16 or 1/4 finesse jig. Green pump/purple or Green pump/red. Sometimes with a small grub trailer or a robo worm as a trailer.
  16. The 722 Endurance or 702 Max may be a little under powered for your jigs. But will work great for the top waters and spinner baits. The 702/722 could be good but you dont have the back bone of the MH and doesnt have the range for a little bit larger baits. Dont get me wrong tho, the M is grat for lighter baits. I have 2 of the Endurance 723s and they are great all around rods. I use it as a spinner bait rod/swim jig/plastics/flukes/senkos/hollow body swimmers...ect. The Max 703 is a little cheaper and is pretty much the same rod.
  17. What exactly are you planning on using on a powell rod? What kind of of weights?
  18. Hello welcome to the site.
  19. Under most circumstances if it were me and any friend or one of my brothers in I would not share anything. Its game on. But i just thought that this cases was a little different. I mean he was 21lbs back and had 0lbs. Not to mention there was slim chances that he would qualify to fish in sunday. There was no threat to Bobby Lane if he were to help his brother. I would have helped if he wanted it, if nothing else just help his mental state. A day like Chris had friday can really hurt you mentally. It was great to see him come roaring back today.
  20. My adivce, fish your boat for fun and practice and learn all you can. Join a club and fish as a co angler on someone elses boat for tourneys. Use your boat for prefish and fun fishin. Being a co angler, you will climb thee learning curve alot faster. There are multiple clubs in your area, just google. I think there is an actuallyy list of clubs in nc.
  21. Grip was right, watch your line. Get used to watching the slack as the lure falls. Learn what it feels like and what it looks like. Alot of times you will be able to see the strike before you feel it. And when you do feel it and see it ...remember what that feels like. Train your hands with your eyes. Something else, try fishing a jig or t rig at night... this will def tune you up to feeling a bite
  22. Im glad it was worth it for ya. Too bad Nitro couldnt come down with ya. It coulda been him on the other end of those fish.
  23. You old rascal. No sooner, than i told you about my good day on Leesville you had to go have one.. good looking fish! Good job buddy
  24. Dude where have you been? Iim guessing you havent paid attention to this tournament at all. Lane zeroed out on day one. Rick clunn and scott martin arent even in the tourney. Ike has been leading for two days, he had problems with his trolling motor and got permission to swap boats with another pro that is driving a camera boat.
  25. Ill normaly split shot on spinning gear. 1. Centipede 2. Flukes 3.tiny brush hog. If im fishing heavy grass or fishing much faster, ill go on M/MH casting gear with 3/16 and same baits or bulked up versions. The Lake fork ring fry is good if you want to go a bit bigger!
