All depends what you are looking for. Very few baits are hand poured anymore since hand injection was developed. Hand poured/injected baits are not neccesarily softer. It all depends what plastic is used. Most people use medium which is a good mix of flexibility and durability. This medium is similar to what the big bait companies mass produced baits are. Soft plastic can be used for more action but durability suffers.
Many companies add salt to baits. To me this is just a cheap filler and makes the bait weak so you buy more.
If you find a good custom bait company they will custom make baits to exaxtly what you want. Custom colors and glitters for example. Different kinds of scents cooked in. Different fall rates on stick baits, etc.
There are also different molds that may not be available from name brand companies.
There actually is a new additive out that replaces salt in Senko type sticks (salt is what makes Senkos sink but also makes them tear easy). It makes the baits softer and more durable but they weigh the same and sink and wiggle are identical. I have caught over 50 bass on a stick made with this new plastic
Alot of people fish trick worms and flukes weightless. Try having some made with the weighted Senko formula. They work awesome.
I am working on something that may be similar. Its a 1/2 oz that can be cut down to whatever. Has an eye on the end and not the dropshot style. Trying to ge the weight low and back for a more horizontal swim and not a nose dive.
I think I need to move the line tie foward or weight might still be too high. If rigged slightly off it wants to roll on its side. Nose in front of the hook acts like a rudder.
7" swim with hook pocket. 7/0 Gammy hook
PM me if you want the EBAY seller of the weights
I like my Pointer 100sp but wanted to try something different. Megabass Vision 110 is too pricey for me so thought I would try one of these for under eight bucks. I heard split rings are/were really bad so I hope they fixed that prob on newer stock.
Any one use one?
I hate to disagree with arguably the best fisherman in the world but, I found a longer leader works better in the cold water where the bait can drift slowly a little freer and more natural. I also wish he discussed leader material and size, and hook and bait choices.
I used to use 4" and now use the 5". I think the 5" sink a lil faster and like them better. The 5" will still catch plenty of 6" fish too.
Any color seems to work fine.
I would just bring them back and be done with it. Looks like he buys the knockoff bodies and adds hooks. Cost him only a couple bucks. It's not like they are even great paintjobs.
In my opinion having owned or used both.
HB better sidescan and easier to use (love the three buttons for instant view changes)
Lowrance better Di
2d is good on both
Most dont use Di much and I prefer my HB 898c si
