  1. Consider Raymarine Dragonfly units if you dont need side imaging
  2. Raymarine Dragonfly. 4dvs ($250) or 5dvs ($300) Chirp sonar and down vision. No GPS Pro model adds GPS/maps. Side scan not available
  3. Try the smallest Havoc Sickfish
  4. Yup but the 73sv has side too. This is your best choice IMO if you can swing $1000 If you dont need sidescan consider the Raymarine Dragonfly. Best down imaging of them all.
  5. Yup Hrlix is only unit in that price range if you want Si
  6. I am happy with my original Dragonfly (not pro). Great down imaging and chirp 2d is very good. I have an A98 on order
  7. A mixed bag of used plastic like that will not always remelt properly. It can foam up, burn, stink, etc.
  8. Sebile Magic swimmer
  9. Should evaporate Wash with dish wash detergent
  10. R2S v-joint minnow series. Spro BBZ 4" Great wake bait is SK Wake shad
  11. You can not run an electric tolling motor thru a switch/fuse panel. It draws way to many amps. You could use the switch to trigger a properly rated (amps)relay that would turn the motor on. Maybe one the truck guys use for those crazy bright off road lights
  12. If you want sidescan, the HB Helix is a good inexpensive unit. Best to be moving for good sidescan. Not you how well that would work on a kayak.
  13. Open water something with treble hooks Junk on surface Buzzbait or frog.
  14. I do well with them. I wish they were made of plastic with some rattles instead of balsa. The line tie going into soft balsa will bend and move, thus going out of tune and doing the spin. As said not very durable. Dont cast into docks or rocks. The wide bill does make them pretty brushless like a squarebill. Bluegill paint looks great and does bestfor me
  15. I like straight 15-20# braid on a 6'6"-7' M spinning. I prefer the slightly softer rod with no stretch line. I have tried 10-12# flouro leaders but brek off at the hook on hooksets even with drag set to pull slightly
  16. This actually is called the "Doodle Rig"
  17. Totally agree.
  18. Rough spring for me too. Even my stick baits are letting me down.
  19. Good job figuring them out and the SM. Most of the rivers around there have SM.
  20. I believe only the 2d sonar is through the built in TM transducer. Imaging is thru the structure scan LSS2
  21. I never used auto sensitivety on a Lowrance. Shows way to much clutter like that.
  22. Bass and White Perch around shad.
  23. Cool. Try again with less side distance set
  24. I rarely use my Si. More of a "toy" for me to see cool things. I can live without it. Especially on such a small screen
  25. And if the battery and trolling motor are far apart (bow and stern) make sure you run heavy enough gauge wire.
