  1. A good all around crankbait rod is the LTB78MHM. Its good for crankbaits as small as a 1.5 KVD Squarebill but can also handle a SK 6XD. I have this rod paired with an Abu Garcia Gen 3 winch. I also have a LXC72MM for smaller crankbaits such as the 1.0 KVD Squarebills and SK 3XD's. I also pair it with a Abu Garcia Gen 3 Winch.
  2. What would be a good rod for throwing those heavy swimbaits (Roman Made Mothers, Deps 250 slide swimmers, etc) I was thinking maybe a LTMU76XHF or LTMU79HMF?? What other options are there?
  3. Crankbait season baby! Fish are fighting for big meals to fatten up for the winter, the strikes on a crank are AWESOME!
  4. A perfect alternative to that is the KVD Dream Shot (its a caffeine shad that was modified for drop shotting)
  5. You can just peel it off and respool it, but I wouldn't recommend it - It will be full of coils. Another option might be is, BPS sells 1lb spools of their brand of mono for like $26. You get something like 8,000yards @ 8lb test
  6. Try this product called Not2Kinky
  7. 30 yards is a good cast with a 1.5. I'm using a Legend Xtreme 7'2 MM with a Gen 3 Winch and I get about 35 on average.
  8. I know you got a MHM, but try the LTB Big Cranker for bigger crankbaits. I use the Big cranker for mid/deep divers and a LXC72MM for shallow/squarebills.
  9. This happens with both of them btw, and they where both jus replaced with Orange Seal Boca's
  10. When I spin the spool and push down on the thumb bar sometimes it will pop back up, and when it doesn't pop back up, the spool sounds smooth until I hold the spool with the handle facing up and the palm plate down then it makes a really loud grinding sound. But when I push the thumb bar down and spin the spool with my finger, it doesn't make the noise.
  11. Black Friday defiantly, also look at St Croix's webpage from time to time and check out there bargain bin. I got the Legend Xtreme (Cork split grip w/ recoil guides) for $198 shipped, retails for $400.
  12. Its not cheating, but its extremely boring.
  13. hmmm, maybe ill grab the 8 lb spool for backing then, because you almost get twice as much.
  14. I always thought thicker line prevented digging in. I usually use .33 diameter (12lb) on my bait casters right up to thicker .46mm (20lb)
  15. Good, I just found out BPS sells 1lb spools for less then $30
  16. Does the quility of mono backing effect the casting distance of Floro or braid main line on a baitcaster? My friend and I are having an argument, I tell him no because it doesn't even come off the spool if there is enough main line to cover the distance of the cast.
  17. Ya, I was planning on using the 5/0 for flipping, and tying bucktail jigs upto about 5/8 oz max.
  18. The vice is mainly going to be for tying jigs, I have "Second Hands" for airbrushing.
  19. I use a 10 or 15lb braid with a 6 to 8lb Invisx leader the length of my rod
  20. How well do the joints hold?
  21. I'm starting a small custom bait business (Bass jigs, airbrushed crankbaits/jerkbaits, hand carved swimbaits that sort of stuff). Most of the jigs i'd be using would just come from fishing skirts . com unpainted.
  22. 1/4 Bitsy Bug w/ Netbait Paca Jr.
  23. Just looking at that vice now, it says it will hold upto a 4/0, can you squeeze a 5/0 into it?
  24. Anyone know of one that will hold up to 5/0 hooks? I've been looking at White River Fly Shop® Crown Spring Tenson Vise.
