  1. But how can you post your 5 fish limit on instagram if you don't jam all the fish in your livewell when you are fun fishing??? Kind of like throwing a 7 lber in the boat and taking it for a boat ride all day in case you catch some other big ones to take a photo with when you are just out fishing for fun. Stupid. Especially on most of the small lakes around here. I used to love Mound City. Last year a caught a 3 1/2 that had a hole in its mouth so big a 10" shad could swim through. Last couple years it has been down it seems like.
  2. Congrats! Looks like a nice rig!
  3. I have 1996 Nitro F/S. Its 18. 1/2 w/ 115 HP Tracker (mercury) I think the problem you are going to have is finding a fish n ski of any size to fit in the area you want. I have a 3 car garage, but the trailer is too wide to put through the 3rd stall, I have to put it through the double and back it in diagonal. I am considering selling it in the near future and would be asking the low end of your budget if you really are at all interested. I don't have any major complaints with my boat. If i do sell it, I will be replacing it with a Bass boat though. It pulls a tube fine, but is not the best for skiing. I am about 210 pounds and it takes awhile to get on plane pulling me on skis with 3 adults in the boat. It seats 5 comfortably.
  4. Awesome video. Those sprinker blow ups are great. Pulled up to Hillsdale yesterday and my tilt/trim wont work (1996 115 HP Mercury) . The solenoids were clicking but nothing is happening. I already ordered new solenoids to replace and see it that fixes it. From what I read, if one goes bad they both wont work. The tilt/trim motor was replaced last year by BPS so I cannot imagine it being the issue. Thought I would check on here to see if anyone else has had experience. I am no mechanic- so if anyone has anything relatively easy to check let me know. Otherwise I suppose it will be on a wait list to get in the shop.
  5. When this thread started I didn't have a "real" boat, so I cannot speak to Melvern. But Cedar was much better. I think those smaller lakes do go in cycles though. Another thing that hurt Cedar so much was the city opening the south half of the lake to bank fisherman. It used to be that if someone wanted to fish on the south said they had to park at the boat ramp and walk across the dam, that minimized the pressure. Now if you go there on a weekend the bank is absolutely lined with meat fisherman. In the last 3 years I have seen MUTIPLE 3 pound bass in buckets. Like @Bluebasser86 said, they are supposedly closing it to boats when the renovate it, so doesn't matter as much. Definitely are some beasts in there still.
  6. Alright, I need two opinions on some boat issues I am having. First off, I think i need a new fuel line and primer bulb. What brand is the best to replace with? I would like if I could buy locally and not have to wait for shipping. My second issue @RangerDanger & Keith have already given my some useful info. I previously had a 12/24 V TM system, and it appears that their are 2 positive & 2 negative wires running the length of my boat each to an individual battery in the back with an in-line fuse. (No jumper wire at all). When I replaced with a 24V only TM I just re-worked the plug. Now the plug is giving me poor connection so I am going to direct wire. When I do so- Is it ok to use something like this-http://www.basspro.com/Trolling-Motor-Connector-Kit-8Gauge/product/12051808141522/ Or should I literally just splice the wires direct. Also, What circuit breaker should I use?
  7. Awesome fish man! Congrats. Looked like you were in complete shock!
  8. @awohlwend and I did our best to make Brian look good on Saturday since he had a client on board. We succeeded. 4 fish, biggest being 2 pounds on a wart.
  9. Connor- are you thinking about the BFL as a boater?
  10. POST Trip. My boat was already pretty dirty, but it was disgusting afterwards.
  11. @awohlwend and I went to MC Saturday morning. He got a good fish pretty quick on the Dam off a finesse jig (3.75lbs), he can post a picture. Then we went about 3 hours without a bite. I caught a short near the mouth of the creek on a sizzle-fry jerkbait (my 1st on a Sizzle). Water temp was 44-47. There were 5 or 6 boats and a kayak out. They guy on the kayak said he was having a pretty good day and we watched him catch a short on a spinnerbait, other than that we didn't see anyone catch a fish.
  12. Any updates to this? Thinking about going there or MC tomorrow.
  13. @JakeJohnson has had good early spring days out there, not sure about winter though.
  14. Awfully hard to beat Sykora or Berhorst on LOZ....
