  1. That's true. A lot of people express themselves in different ways. If you don't show enough emotion, you don't care. If you show too much emotion, you are over the top. I have always just found I am on the mild side when it comes to celebrating. Not saying the opposite is wrong, just not my thing.
  2. I could be in the same situation soon. I may be changing jobs and if so fishing will be next to done for a while so I am going to try to get rid of some of my stuff while it still has value.
  3. The problem with Facebook is, there had to be someone local looking for exactly what you are selling. You would have better luck selling on a forum. You might consider just listing the reels and only having to worry about shipping them. I understand not wanting to ship the rods though. I have about 6 that I need to sell but I don't want to deal with it.
  4. How quick do you want to sell it? These "might" sell quickly if someone knows what they are getting, not likely though Lews Speed Spool LFS x 2 - $75 ea Lews Mach rod 7' mh/F - $70 Lews Mach rod 6'10 mh/me - $70 Shimano SLX XT - $75 Shimano SLX 7'2 H/F - $75 These "might" sell quicker and are more than likely Facebook prices Lews Speed Spool LFS x 2 - $50 ea Lews Mach rod 7' mh/F - $40 Lews Mach rod 6'10 mh/me - $40 Shimano SLX XT - $60 Shimano SLX 7'2 H/F - $50
  5. I'm not an Ike fan, never have been. Mainly because of his over the top antics. That just isn't how I conduct myself. That being said, from what I can tell, he has done more for bass fishing (especially youth) than just about any other angler I know of. Outside of a tournament/camera situation, he seems like a great guy. I just can't get over the schtick that he personifies/embraces.
  6. Not the same boat, but I have an 03 Triton TR 186 that had a 60" Terrova on it when I got it, I hated it. Went with a 45" Ultrex and it is much better.
  7. Anyone have a favorite recipe? I looked online and there are only about 2 million different ones. LOL
  8. If you are Shaq, you should be fine. I couldn't do it.
  9. Of all the things that have gone up lately, this might be the worst one yet. We would buy a 1lb jar for $24.99 about 2 years ago. Then it went to $29, then $35, then $40 so we just stopped buying it. I have really been craving some so I just looked online. Now it is $59.99. Wow!!!! I know beef has gone up, but man that's a lot.
  10. I guess if I'm going to tell the bad, then I better tell the good. I ordered a new soft toss net late Tuesday night. Got tracking info on Wed that said it was shipping via FedEx and coming from Mississippi. It was on my front porch when I got home from work on Thursday.
  11. 40lb braid is bad in the wind. I can't imagine any braid being good.
  12. I've been out 3 times, about 2 hours each trip. I have yet to find one. These are places where I have found them before so I have no clue what is going on. It might be too late here is all I can guess.
  13. It's awful!!!!! I wouldn't buy one simply for that reason. I tried to remove mine on my Zodias, my advice, have a professional do it.
  14. Even in a pond, I'm going to throw them in the junk and I want them to go to the bottom so I can hop them and have them land hard.
  15. I was going to say jigs, but since you don't throw them often, I will say 1/2 oz weight with a 10" or 12" worm.
  16. I'm just gonna beat the bank. Funny story. I was fishing the bank out of my boat one day and there was an old man fishing from the bank. I went out around him and we made small talk. He said, "Most guys say if they had a boat, they could go out there and catch them all. Then when they get a boat, they come right back to the bank". That describes me perfectly.
  17. I have never fished there, but if you are looking for a good meal you should try Big Daddy's at the marina. It is GREAT!!!! More food than you can possibly eat and it's BYOB. They had live music when we were there.
  18. I guess I'm lucky, my wife and I earn about the same salary and she pays her fair share for everything we do. Heck, she might even pay more if I put the pen to paper. I found a good one though.
  19. I only used 7' MH rods for many years. I could probably still get away with it although I am more comfortable with other rods at this point. Humans are a creature of habit.
  20. Looks like you answered your own question. If you were frogging with them and not getting good hook sets then you would need to power up. If you were cranking and ripping hooks out then you would need to power down. Only you can answer the question.
  21. 10 lb braid? I can't imagine the line dig in. If you are catching big fish, I would bump that up to 30 or 40 lb like @NorthernBasser suggested. It doesn't take much for braid to become frayed and weak.
  22. Here's another example of FedEx's fine operation they run. Ordered a new softball bat last week. Got an email with a tracking number, coming from FedEx, oh GREAT! Ships from Missouri, goes to Illinois, then makes it's way to Texas on Thursday with a scheduled delivery date of Friday. Good deal. Shows up in Oklahoma early Friday morning. Sits there a day, then back to Texas. The last scan was at 5:50 this morning and it is still in Texas.
  23. I have Mega 360, but not Livescope. If it were me. I would opt for the Livescope simply because you can see fish in deeper water, which is wat I struggle with. I only use my 360 to find structure. I would say that having 360 has in no way made me a better fisherman.
  24. I promise I will send good thoughts her way. I hope nothing but the best for her. Here's to a speedy a easy recovery.
  25. I don't blame you.
