  1. That is what was on my primer bulb in my 03 Merc, but it was just regular zip ties on the fuel filter. Wonder if I should try to find some of those?
  2. Could be. You might try it just to see if it works. Also make sure to go slow and snug the knot, don't pull it as hard as you can.
  3. I agree, it doesn't look like 14 lbs and there is NO WAY that fish is 28" long and has a 30" girth.
  4. I would bet it's most likely the knot. Make sure you wet the knot good. One other thing I do with FC and a palomar is only pull the tag end when tightening the knot, that way if there is any "burning" it is on the part I am cutting off.
  5. Zip ties? Just because they are zip ties doesn't mean the filter hasn't been changed. But yes, you can just snip those off and use zip ties or hose clamps when you replace the filter.
  6. Nope, why would I risk doing damage to a $2,300 TM or hull damage for a $12 bait?
  7. Boy, I just thought the guys in the IPT vs gear ratio threads were trying to show everyone how smart they are, you guys are really showing out for the crowd.
  8. Great fish and even better to catch on top water!!!!
  9. I understand wanting to go with the birds since you have a MK TM. I also have birds and an Ultrex. That being said, there is no advantage to having both if your TM doesn't have i-Pilot "Link".
  10. You think he lives on beef jerky?
  11. I used to fish tournaments with a guy who was the boater. We were a team so we fished every tournament together. His boat would run 40 mph tops. We would draw for take off position every tournament. Of course if we were one of the first boats drawn we would get passed by every single boat and it would make him furious because some of them would get close enough to actually spray us as they passed. He told me to tell them that we would just wait and leave last from now on because he was going to fight someone the next time he got sprayed. I told the director and he kind of laughed, I told him if he didn't want to see someone get hurt, he should probably just agree. We left last from then on.
  12. Wait, what? Play in the handle? I thought only those junky Shimano reels did that! LOL So you're telling me he thinks 65 yards is a long cast? He should see what some of the guys here can do.
  13. This guy is not even trying to catch a fish and we have guys claiming to cast almost double these distances while actually fishing.
  14. Bass Resource is home to some of the longest casting anglers on the planet. They use the 150 size spool to make 120 yard casts with just a lil extra left on the spool.
  15. I have a 6'10, 7'2, and 7'5 that all get jig duty at some point.
  16. I think the Curado 70k MGL is a better reel. It feels smoother, palms better and casts just as well.
  17. I don't own any of the current Daiwa reels, but I agree that you should go with a Daiwa.................A Shimano probably wouldn't even fit .
  18. This topic always gets a ton of traffic. I knew better than to even participate. LOL A lot of guys think they hit their driver 300 yards plus when in reality they probably average 260.
  19. That's the thing, I don't care about anyone spooling their reel. Go to a football field and throw it through the goal post from one end to the other. I'm not calling you out, I am just saying most people have no idea how far they are casting.
  20. I used to carry jumper cables and had to use them once before I bought a new battery. I now carry a NOCO jump starter.
  21. I'd love to see a hook set on a Texas Rig from 125 yards. LOL Yep, a lot of these guys have no clue.
  22. I can tell a lot of people have never shot a bow or played much golf. I would say my average cast is 50-60 ft. and maybe 100 ft. if I am fishing a deep running bait.
  23. I use this one with a Merc 150 running 2 Helix 8's, Mega 360 and all my other accessories. It will last all day. https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/interstate-batteries-deep-cycle-group-29-840-marine-cranking-amp-battery#repChildCatid=6440505
  24. I am not a good person to deal with when someone else puts my life in danger. If he were to drive like that with me in the boat, we would have a little talk about it and see where it goes from there. I have rode in a vehicle with people who I have had to tell that I didn't appreciate their driving. In fact, I walked about 4 miles one night because I told the guy to just let me out. A person should always think about the people riding with them when operating a vehicle or boat. There is no pressure like driving a bus full of 50 kids who's parents expect them to be with someone who will take care of them.
