  1. Is that a 15lber? LOL
  2. No experience, but I can only imagine. I remember buying cheap weed eaters and I would have to replace them the next year or maybe two. Then I bought a Stihl, haven't bought one since.
  3. Don't worry so much about the line, make sure you are using invisible hooks.
  4. You could always resort to buying them.
  5. This with a white/chart Keitech fat impact
  6. No experience with the Daiwa or Lews. I do own the 200K and 70 MGL and I would go with the 70 MGL of those two for the techniques you plan to use it for.
  7. What scales did you use, I think I want to buy the same model you used.
  8. I only have the 7' MH and they are nice rods. IMO the Expride is worth the extra money though. I HATE where the hook hanger is on the new Zodias. I would much rather add my own hook keeper so I can put it where I want it.
  9. I am an admitted Shimano fan, so I would choose the Expride's. There are a TON of good rods in that price range. If I were going to try something different, I would give the Megabass Levante a hard look.
  10. I catch them on 40lb braid with no leader. There are a lot of factors to consider on why using a leader can be beneficial. Best way to know, is trial and error.
  11. You are more than welcome on my boat any time!
  12. I teach a middle school "wildlife conservation" class. We talk about hunting and fishing all hour.
  13. I teach middle school, I have to Google things every day just to see what they mean. LOL
  14. Dang, they should change yours to "yoked"
  15. This time of year, instead of casting to the middle of the pond, pick a spot about 15-20 ft off the bank to either side and "parallel" fish the pond. Your chances of catching a big girl go up quiet a bit when the bait is in the strike zone longer.
  16. Oh, I thought mine was changed when I started posting pics of me and they realized I was fat. Hahahaha
  17. The lake that I fish a lot is only about 950 acres so it can get crowded but it is mostly full of guys chasing after Crappie. One day last fall I was out on the lake and a couple guys were working a bank as I was leaving a creek. One of them says, doing any good. I told him I had caught 5 and a couple decent ones. He tells me they haven't caught a thing. As he gets closer he says, aren't you the guy that posts the pictures on that fishing forum. I told him it was indeed me. He said, we only came here because of those pictures, I guess you know how to fish it though. He said they drove a little over an hour and probably wouldn't be back. LOL
  18. Can you see electrical tape, it works well, no knots needed.
  19. Back to my original suggestion, use a piece of electrical tape. The EASIEST thing you could possibly do.
  20. Use a piece of electrical tape.
  21. Different colored jerkbaits. Different brands as well.
  22. Chatterbait = 7'2 MH M Glass 40# braid Spinnerbait = 7' MH F 12# mono
  23. They are both really sensitive. As far as hook sets go, I am ZERO help in that dept. I try to cross their eyes on every hook set. LOL
  24. I have both models. I use the MH for 1/4 oz texas rigs and the H for 3/8 oz texas rigs. Here is where I guess I differ from a lot of guys. Anytime I am throwing a 3/8+, it is usually in and around weeds, wood, brush etc. I need the rod to move the fish more than I care about what size weight is at the end of the rod. I am mostly pitching these baits so I don't need to worry about the rod loading and casting well. Heck, I have the 7'3 XH model and have been known to throw a 1/2 oz on it when the cover calls for it. I usually fish my rods on the heavier side because I fish a lot of heavy cover (where the fish are LOL).
