  1. Q-tip with some KVD L&L on it. I fish braid on a majority of my rods. I usually only find most build up is on the 3 or so closest to the tip.
  2. Anything you want to use it for. That was a common speed or even higher speed for a lot of years and a lot of bass have been caught on reels with a 5 gear ratio.
  3. Sorry if this has already been posted, I couldn't find it. Largemouth bass caught in Lake Elmo sets new Montana state record. 9.575 lb. fish tops previous record by nearly a pound that has stood since 2009. Brandon Wright caught the 22.5-inch-long fish Saturday morning while angling from shore with a worm on a hook and 6-pound test line. He officially confirmed the fish’s species, weight and length by contacting FWP officials and weighing it on a certified scale at Alberstons grocery in Billings Heights. It was the first largemouth bass that Wright ever has caught. He plans to have it mounted by a taxidermist. People who think they have caught a Montana record fish should keep the fish fresh on ice but not frozen, document the length and girth with photos, contact FWP at the first opportunity for positive species identification, have the fish weighed on a certified scale and keep the certificate from the scale or an affidavit from the scale owner. Not bad for his first bass.
  4. You will hear people say you don't need a sensitive rod for moving baits, but I tend to disagree to an extent. In fact, on two different occasions this year I was throwing a chatterbait and it felt like the chatterbait blade just stopped moving but I was still reeling. Thinking I had hit some grass I jerked and both times it was a fish. I had never felt this before so maybe this was just the first time it had happened. But since switching to an Expride for chatterbaits I feel like I can tell what is going on with the bait better than I could before. Could just be me though. As far as bottom contact, I want to use the most sensitive rod available to me. In my case, that is the Expride and Poison Adrena.
  5. As already mentioned, the DC spools are heavier and harder to get going, that is why they excel at bombing heavier baits. You can set them and cast them as hard as you can and rarely get an overrun. The MGL spool shines at pitching. I have the Bantam MGL, Curado 70 MGL, Scorpion MGL and 20 Met. I would go with the 20 Met because I prefer the solid core body, but the Curado 70 MGL is a close second.
  6. Man, I don't know, all that extra weight is sure to be hard on the wrists.
  7. Gravel pits with no rocks? Strange. LOL
  8. But you hate the reel? HAHAHA!!!!!!!
  9. That's the proof? Ummm okay, plenty of guys spend $200 on baits, I guess that doesn't mean they have won $100,000 and a new boat. We have a few members that probably own more than Chris does and they are not even pros. LOL
  10. I wasn't referring to the pic the OP posted. Check my post again. In fact, I was referring to the pic that you too quoted and said "There is that much gravity in PA?... "
  11. I have been doing yard work all day so I didn't see any of the action. WOW! 42 lbs on the last day is one way to do it. Holy cow!
  12. Is taking it apart important enough to chance ruining it? Is it a nice rod or a piece of junk? I would ask myself those questions first.
  13. I caught a TON of 5 lbers until I started weighing them. I would say that is a solid 2 lb fish all day This is a 4-08 BTW, actually weighed, not just estimated.
  14. I have the 20 Met and I love it!!!
  15. When did Zaldain win $100,000 and a new boat?
  16. I do both. Most of my recent trips has led me to flipping the bird and pitching a fit.
  17. What makes a rod tip heavy? Weak wrists
  18. Good luck! Stay safe, fish hard!
  19. I ran out of paper one day in class and the kids told me that they needed some. I went to the cabinet and got a couple packs, I pulled my knife out and opened them. One of the kids exclaimed, YOU CAN"T HAVE A KNIFE IN SCHOOL. I said, I can, but you can't
  20. Speaking of knives. My daughter brought a pack of taco shells to me last night and asked me to open them. I took out my knife and opened them. She said, why do you always have a knife. I told her, in case someone needs me to open taco shells for them, if you would start carrying a knife you wouldn't have needed my help. She just gave me a strange look. Hopefully she didn't get suspended from the 5th grade today for having a knife on her. LOL
  21. I throw creature baits over here I throw creature baits over there I throw creature baits everywhere I throw creature baits far I throw creature baits near I throw creature baits without fear -Dr. Suess, probably
