  1. Made it to the lake without a blowout = success Launched without the boat floating away = success Boat starts within first couple tries = success Fish without breaking a rod = success Don't crack a shaft on TM = success Don't tear up lower unit = success Catch a fish or not = no big deal Btw, all of those have happened, so when they don't happen = success
  2. Mark Robinson, a fine citizen!!!!
  3. I have cleaned a bunch of crappie that were full of eggs. Many times the crappie spawn is hard to judge when they have eggs or when they don't. Even 12" crappie can have eggs and you really can't tell. So yes, I suppose I purposefully kept them during the spawn.
  4. I use 40 lb 832
  5. That's Ron Shaw. He was around Hart quiet a bit as well and a very good stick. And yes, Ken was indeed a marine biologist that worked for the Department of Wildlife.
  6. Sorry, the stories about her and I when we were in high school will be in my personal memoirs. LOL, now I realize my goof up!!!!
  7. I use the 7'2 H Zodias with 20 lb Shooter, I fish pretty heavy cover though, Lots of wood.
  8. The lake that I would call my "home lake" is about 12 min from my front door to the waters edge. I love this little lake. It is only about 755 acres but the traffic is fairly minimal. You will not catch large numbers of fish, but you sure can catch some good ones. I made a post earlier in the card thread about Ken Cook so I got do doing some Google searching. You see, the Hart Tackle bait company was started in my hometown of Stratford, Oklahoma. I was in the same grade as the owners daughter and we were good friends. I got to hang out a lot in the warehouse where they made all the spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and poured the plastics. I could buy any spinnerbait or buzzbait for $2 or a bag of worms for $1. I spent a TON of time hanging out down there. I even went down there after hours to help bag plastics and build spinnerbaits with a guy that worked there. Ken Cook just happened to be one of the Pro's that was sponsored by Hart. It was circa 1991 or 1992 (can't remember if he had one won the Classic yet or not) I was 11 or 12 years old and he was working with Hart to produce a new spinnerbait. One day he was at Hart Tackle HQ and was going to go out and try out a few prototypes. I just happened to be there and he asked myself and the guy that I helped to go out to the lake with him. I had never been to said lake, in fact, didn't even know it was a lake. Turns out, they were in the process of building the lake and it wasn't even open to the public yet. We threw the spinnerbaits from the bank for a while and caught a few fish. I don't really remember any conversation or anything like that, I just remember being in awe at his casting ability. Ken was for sure my favorite from then on. Now, I find myself fishing that same lake some 30 years later and thinking about that time I was with a Classic Champion. So after my Google search. I found a video of him fishing that lake after it opened. Pretty cool find.
  9. Never owned a rod with them, but when I first saw them on a GLX in Bass Pro, I was in love. Thats was back when I had a wife and a toddler and those were not in my budget, LOL.
  10. Shimano Curado 70 HG on a 6'8" MH x fast Curado rod spooled with 12lb Invizx
  11. Those are cool! I was a huge collector of baseball, football and basketball cards back during those times and never even knew those existed. I would love to have gotten a Ken Cook card, I went fishing with him once when I was probably 9 or 10 and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
  12. I have the JDM version and I love it. I use it for pitching 1/2 texas rigs and it is a sweet lil reel.
  13. You saw an article written by someone who doesn't have a clue what's going on. This years halftime show is Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J Blige. Not for everyone, but I will love it. BTW, that might be some janky pre-game show or something, I don't know.
  14. Just make sure he is taking them as prescribed and stick to it. My wife works for a psychotherapist and meds will definitely help, but you all will really need to watch his behavior and he will need to be able to explain how he feels in detail to make sure the dosage is correct. Once the dosage is dialed in and he is taking them accordingly, things should go a lot better.
  15. That was always my thoughts as well. Now that the MLF Pro Circuit decided to zero the weights going into the final day, people are complaining about that already. LOL
  16. Trust me, a TON of people are.
  17. Why does it have to be MLF vs BASS? Why can't someone enjoy both? For the life of me I can't figure out why some people have drawn a line in the sand and chose to be ride or die with one trail while totally admonishing the other. Why Yamaha? Because Kawasaki doesn't make outboards. LOL
  18. As bad as it may sound. I would hope it is never found or found totaled. When my truck was stolen the guy put almost 800 miles on it in a day and it was all scratched and dented up. My front suspension was shot. I had to replace upper A arms, CV joints, etc. Broke head lights, cig burns in the seats, cracked mirrors, broke dash, and many other things. Since it was recovered, my insurance gave me a check for $500 after my deductable.
  19. Ummmm, bills are indeed a motivating factor when it comes to having a job. I agree though, when you are a mooch there is no reason to work. When you will be without a place to live, a vehicle, water, food, electricity, etc. You will have to keep a job or be on the streets. Twenty years old is plenty old enough to be out on one's own whether he finds value in his work or not. This guy is what I would call a bum, not sure there is another term aside from mooch. He bums and mooches off other people to survive.
  20. I don't have a rooting interest in either team. That being said, I would prefer the Bengals win but I won't be upset if the Rams win.
  21. Stop bragging!!!!! hahahaha
  22. I was just thinking there have been 56 Super Bowls and it has happened 2 times. Just using numbers, I'm not a math teacher though.
  23. LOL!!!! I don't teach math.
